The next day

Lin Kai woke up cleaned his face with earth energy and walked outside. He saw Hao Ran and Cheng Li and walked up to them, "You guys woke up pretty early, huh?"

"We didn't." Hao Ran replied to Lin Kai, "We slept on the ship when we were coming here, so when we arrive we can look around the sect."

"Whatever, I'm still more talented then you." Lin Kai rubbed his talent in Hao Rans face, and they started to argue.

Cheng Li laughed at the side, then she remembered, "Oh, that reminds me, thank you both for stand up for me at the recruitment test, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys." She said as she bowed down.

"It's no problem." Hao Ran responded to Cheng Li, "besides, even if you are the lowest talent, there are some pills to improve talent."

"What're you talking about, it is a problem." Lin Kai told Hao Ran and turned to Cheng Li. "Hey, just so you know you owe me a favor in the future."

"Alright." Cheng li nodded.

"Alright, let's show the dumbass around." Hao Ran said as he walked off.

"I won't get mad, because I know damn well he's not talking to me." Lin Kai thought to himself as he followed Hao Ran with a smile.

"Here is the skill hall, it's where we get to pick our skills as new disciplines, regular disciplines get 1 skill, but red talents and higher get 2, broken talents like you get 3." Hao Ran explained.

Although talented people in the sect were able to get more techniques, the elders didn't pay attention to them or treat them better, since they wanted everyone in the sect to have a fair chance in getting stronger.

"What skill did you guys get?" Lin Kai questioned them.

"I got the 'hundred forests' skill set, when I master it, it'll let me control every plant in the world and capture anyone and use them as weapons!" Cheng Li told Lin Kai with excitement.

"I picked the 'star body' technique, which makes the body as strong as a star, and the 'fire of basan,' which lets me control the fire of the powerful basan bird." Hao Ran explained.

Lin Kai walked in and checked the techniques, they were split into yellow, dark, earth, and heaven.

Lin Kai could only grab dark tier and lower, he looked around and grabbed 2 techniques. 'Universal body' was stronger then 'star body' but needed more materials and was harder to cultivate. He also took 'yin yang theory' and '5 element destruction.'

Hao Ran looked at the techniques Lin Kai took and was surprised, "Are you sure you want to take these techniques? There pretty tough to master."

"It's alright, I got everything under control." Lin Kai told Hao Ran.

"Alright, I'll go back to my house and practice my new techniques. See you guys later." Lin Kai waved at them and left.

Lin Kai arrived at his house and sat on his bed, he took out his techniques and laid them down in front of him.

He picked up 'yin yang theory' and started to read it, it wasn't a technique but more of a experience and understanding of past masters written down and collected into a book.

After he finished reading it, he picked up '5 elements destruction' and began to read it, it consisted of fire, metal, wood, earth, and water.

Fire was stronger then metal, which was stronger then wood, which was stronger then earth, which was stronger then water and water being stronger then fire.

Lin Kai spent a month practicing water just so his element was stronger then Hao Rans. The next month he spent cultivating fire. The third month he cultivated earth, the fourth month he cultivated wood, and the fifth month he cultivated metal.

He also decided to spend one more week to breakthrough to earth roaming 10th stage.

He had spent 5 months in closed door cultivation, he finally decided to get out his house, he then saw Cheng Li and Hao Ran discussing around a board, he decided to walk up to them and start a conversation.

"What're you guys looking at?" Lin Kai walked up and asked.

"There's this tournament that's happening in the sect, it's made up by teams of 3. Would you like to join our team?" Cheng Li explained and invited Lin Kai.

"Teams of 3, huh? How convenient." Lin Kai said as he had his hand on his chin.

He looked at Cheng Li and saw some more information.

Cultivation: 5th basic, flesh refining, 3rd stage

"She made pretty good progress for a white talent." Lin Kai thought to himself and looked at Hao Ran, "This simp must've helped her."

"What're the rewards then?" Lin Kai asked and looked at the board.

1st place, 10x heaven talent pill, 5x high level healing pill, 5x yin yang control pill, 1 technique from skill hall for each person from winning team.

2nd place, 5x heaven talent pill, 3x high level healing pill, 3x yin yang control pill.

3rd place, 5x heaven talent pill, 3x high level healing pill, 1x yin yang control pill.

4-500 will receive 3x heaven talent pill.

"Apparently they hold this tournament once a year for outer disciplines." Cheng Li continued to explain.

"Although we just joined, me and you are considered Senior brothers since were stronger then most outer disciplines." Hao Ran told Lin Kai.

"That'll mean that the weaklings will most likely give up because of us." Lin Kai understood.

"No, not because of us, because of me, you spent the whole time in closed cultivation, nobody knows how strong you are, but they know how strong I am." Hao Ran explained to Lin Kai.
