The promised mission

After a month of cultivating with Hao Qun, Hao Ran and Hao Qun exited his house. Hao Ran took a deep breath and shifted his body a little and it disappeared. Hao Qun stared at the spot where Hao Ran disappeared from and look at and after a second looked to the left.

"I can still see you since I have a better understanding of dimensions. Matter a fact, anyone with a cultivation of power of focus stage and higher can detect you." Hao Qun said as he grabbed Hao Ran's shoulder and pulled him out of the dimension.

"Haha, anyways how long have we been in there?" Hao Ran asked as he laughed. Hao Ran had lost tract of time when he was cultivating since he was super focused.

"Hmm, about a month I guess." Hao Qun said calmly as he smiled at Hao Ran.

"That means we only have two months left to cure you." Hao Ran said as he put his hand on his chin and started to think.

"What're you some wise guy? Stop thinking so hard, it's bad for your brain." Hao Qun said as he walked past Hao Ran and tapped him in the forehead.

"Even if Cheng Li isn't here, I can still take you to that danger zone or whatever if you want. Even though there's a lot of strong people over there, it'll be ok since I'll be with you." Hao Qun said as he looked at Hao Ran with a smile.

"Lesss go! Then." Hao Ran said excitedly with a big smile.

Alright, go to the entrance of the sect since they'll deny you joining. I'll just accept a quest that I can handle and I'll take you with me after I exit the sect, alright." Hao Qun said as he walked off and disappeared.

"I'm gonna go somewhere dangerous! I'm gonna go somewhere dangerous!" Hao Ran sang as he danced until he reached the sects gate.

Hao Ran finally made it to the sect gate and waited for Hao Qun to come. While he waited he was talking to the two guards at the entrance.

"Hey, why do you guys guard the gate? Don't we have elders that are way stronger that are doing nothing?" Hao Ran asked them both.

"Well, it's because we get contribution points for just standing here all day. Besides, our job isn't really to stop intruders, it's to ring that bell in case of intruders." One of the guards said as he pointed at a huge bell.

"What if the person who comes is super strong and kills you guys in an instant? Wouldn't that just be wasting your lives?" Hao Ran asked another question just by using common sense.

"Well- that's- You've got a point." The other guard said after trying to explain why but failing in doing so.

"So the only thing you can hope for is some weak person to try and attack the sect? That's kind of stupid. What's going through all the elders minds?" Hao Ran said and questioned what the elders were thinking. "This is truly a trash system. It's as if they don't care about what happens to the disciplines of the sect." Hao Ran thought to himself.

"But nobody would want to start a war with a sect, right? That'd just be stupid of them." A guard said as he thought about it.

"Ah, my brothers here. See you guys next time. I'm going on a mission with my big bro." Hao Ran said as he saw his elder brother walking towards them with a smile and waving a small piece of paper in the air.

"Hey, I got the mission we've gotta go now." Hao Qun said as he smiled at Hao Ran,

"Less go!" Hao Qun said and ran out of the sect to go finish the mission as soon as possible.

"Bye, guys. See you soon!" Hao Ran waved the guards goodbye and ran off, following behind Hao Qun.

As they got farther and farther away from the sect, Hao Qun stopped in his tracks. Seeing this Hao Ran did the same.

"Why did you stop?" Hao Ran asked.

"Because, there's a demon here." Hao Qun said as he narrowed his eyes and looked at the trees around them.

"What?!" Hao Ran was surprised and got in a fighting stance, preparing for the battle that's to come.

"Just kidding! It'll take to long for us to run there so I'll just cut up space and drag you with me." Hao Qun said as he turned around and smiled widely.

"Huh?" Hao Ran couldn't say anything but that as he lowered his guard. He stared at his older brother and didn't move.

"Aaaanyways. We've gotta go, lil bro. Damn I be spitting bars on the regular." Hao Qun said as he grabbed his little brothers hand and realized what he said rhymed. Hao Qun cut open the space in front of him and went into it.

All that Hao Ran could see was stars around him. It was as if he was actually close to them, but still far away.

"Wow." Hao Ran was in awe, it was probably the most beautiful thing he has ever seen.

"Wait. What's the difference between space and dimensions?" Hao Ran asked Hao Qun.

"Well, dimension is a higher level of living. People can't interact with beings in a higher dimension, which is why it's perfect for fighting people who are weaker then you. There's also levels to dimensions, the dimension you can enter is the basic one which just seems like open space but you can still see our dimension from a different place. If you encounter somebody that can enter a higher level dimension, you'd lose no matter what happens. There's also some dimensions that start to look like different worlds the higher you go and have actual living beings. But for space, it's mostly used for travel, since you can cover a large distance in the real world from moving a little in space." Hao Qun explained the whole thing, even if some parts couldn't be understood by Hao Ran

"Then space is just a place you go to travel in?" Hao Ran asked.

"Yeah, basically... But! There is something called space qi that you can use to attack others. Space qi is really hard to cultivate and even took Elder Jin over a hundred years to cultivate a little bit of it. But with your talent, it may take a less amount of time." Hao Qun explained to Hao Ran.

"It'll be about a minute before we arrive, you can try and get an understanding of space before we arrive." Hao Qun suggested. Hao Qun taught Hao Ran the basic cultivation method for it and stopped bothering him after so Hao Ran can focus.
