A tiresome day

The lake fell silent as Masato stood in front of the Lancer, looking down at him.

Lancer clenched his teeth as he stared at Masato. He couldn't stand up now that one of his legs was broken.

When he previously fought Masato on spearmanship, he thought he was much easier to defeat.

But now, every move he made, from the smallest slash to his fist, was aimed at killing his opponent – there was no mercy in his strikes.

"Sigh* Go ahead and do it." Lancer sighed and said, "I've lost, so there's no need to talk about it any further."

"Tiger Dad likes it…"

"Huh?"

"Nothing!"

"No, you just—"

"I said nothing!"

"..."

"Now," Masato said, raising Restia in the air as black lightning began to dance around it, "I'll have you leave the war."

Whoosh!* Boom!*

Something fast cut through the air and was about to hit Masato as he slashed Restia downwards, but he effortlessly leaned back. The projectile flew past him and landed on the ground, causing a blast.

"I thought you'd consider it beneath your grace, Gil, to lower yourself to the level of lesser beings."

Gilgamesh was looking down at Masato from his... spaceship in the sky, with different golden portals opening behind him, each revealing a different weapon.

He still sat on his throne, but his face didn't look so good now that it had morphed into pure rage.

"Oh!" Masato smirked and opened his mouth, "Could it be... that our prestigious King of Heroes is being commanded, by a mere human at that?" Isn't it ironic, don't you think?"

"After I take care of you, I'll put an end to that mongrel's life!" Gil said, his rage barely concealed by his words.

"Heh! Can you do it? After all, he still has a single command seal on him, and with the church as his lapdog, he might be able to reclaim them as well. I'm curious how you intend to accomplish this."

Indeed.

Gilgamesh was well aware of this fact, which fueled his rage.

"No one is fit to lead this King. I'll have his head after yours!" As Gilgamesh raised his hand, more portals opened one after the other, releasing various weapons at him.

Even though he said it with the same casual tone, it was clear that he was serious about his fight with Masato.

Though he appeared arrogant most of the time, he admired those who were strong. Gilgamesh was no fool, and he knew that in order to defeat Masato, he had to go all out from the start.

As a result, he unleashed a barrage of attacks, opening hundreds of thousands of portals at once.

<>

A greenish barrier appeared in front of Masato, deflecting any approaching projectile.

However, as more projectiles bombarded it, cracks began to form on it.

<>

Behind the now-destroyed barrier, a ruby-like barrier formed. When a projectile hit it and created a blast, it would condense at a single point before releasing it backward.

Million Escudo – this barrier concentrates all incoming attacks into a single point before reversing everything. Unfortunately, the reverse is only energy and can't harm anyone; otherwise, this barrier could be something like <>.

"I'd love to play with you, but I don't have the time," Masato stated prior to inserting Est into the ground.

He softly said, raising his hand and pointing to Gilgamesh.

<>

Suddenly, the last of the moon's light vanished from the world. The only remaining light was that of the ten pink energy points that formed around Masato; everything else appears to be losing its color.

Abrubtly, the points around him vanished without a trace.

Gilgamesh opened a portal in front of him, and a shield emerged, taking the points head-on.

Boom*! The blast was unlike any other, as it created a massive mushroom at Gilgamesh's location.

"AAAAA!!!" Saber, who was quite a distance away from him, raised her sword in the air and looked at Masato with a shout.

"Don't tell me..." Masato's eyes widened, as he was well acquainted with that posture.

And exactly as he predicted.

"Ex—caliburrrr!" A massive golden beam rushed towards Masato, who hurriedly pointed his hand in the direction of the approaching beam.

<>

In front of him, a golden sheath appeared, raising a green and golden barrier.

*Boom!* Another blast, even bigger than the previous one, but it appeared to be completely blocked.

The water swam furiously, one wave after another.

The flames in the sky cleared, revealing Gilgamesh, who was unharmed. He looked down at Masato, his eyes widening in surprise as he gazed at the Avalon.

He was certain that this was the first time he had seen these weapons – Est, Restia, Sogyoku, and Avalon – none of which were in his treasury.

It burned his treasure-hoarding self to have these weapons in his treasury, but before...

"I despise the idea of joining forces with a little girl and a crippled knight, but these damned command seals!" He gritted his teeth before raising his hand again and throwing weapons at Masato.

Masato was sweating profusely as he pondered whether he had pushed Saber too far. Yes, he was confident in fighting Artoria, Lancer, and Gilgamesh all at once, but that didn't mean he was certain in defeating them.

He was certain that one slip would be all it took to take his life. After all, he wasn't up against some hoodlums, but rather historical figures. Each of them was distinctive in their own way.

Masato may appear relaxed and unconcerned on the outside, but he never took any of his fights lightly.

'But still... to think she'd just release Excalibur like that. That almost gave me a heart attack.'

He clutched Est and Restia before deflecting all of Gilgamesh's incoming projectiles and fleeing on the water as Avalon vanished.

'I used far too much mana. If this fight goes on, I will be at a disadvantage, and worse, I may lose.'

First, he used <>, followed by Kido and <> to stop the damage from spreading. And now he used high-level Kidos and even used Avalon's true name.

Even if he had a lot of Mana, it would eventually run out.

'I should finish it right now.'

When he looked at Gil, his pupil abruptly divided into two, orbiting around his eyeball. His rainbow-colored eyes shone as he notices the 'line' that connects Gil and Tokiomi.

'I need him alive if I'm going to get Irisviel...'

He wanted to show Irisviel the scene in the Grail where Kiritsugu kills Illya. But Gil had to be alive for that to happen. Artoria is the same way.

Kiritsugu would not enter and fight Kirei head-on if either of these two died.

Gilgamesh abruptly ceased his attacks. He frowned before turning to face Masato. He appears to understand what happened to him based on his eyes.

He narrowed his eyes, both Masato and Gilgamesh staring at each other, before Gilgamesh humphed and disintegrated into particles, disappearing.

'What a tsundere.'

As Gilgamesh vanished, Masato came to a halt and looked towards Lancer, who was no longer present at his pace, while Saber took deep breaths after expending most of her energy in that beam of hers.

'Do you think I'd let my prey flee so easily?'

Masato chuckled as Est and Restia vanished.

He raised his hand, revealing a red blood-like spear in his hands. He covered the entire Fuyuki City with <>, nothing escaping his sight.

He took the throwing stance after locating Lancer in a distant building.

<< Gae Bolg>>

Before it vanished from Masato's grasp, the spear in his hand released a burst of red energy. A notification appeared in front of his eyes a split second later.

{

When he saw the notification, he turned to face Saber. She stood up and ran towards Irisviel just as he was about to approach her.

Masato's eyes shone, but he didn't stop her because he knew another command seal had been used.

Saber picked Irisviel before looking at Masato for a second and fleeing with her.

Screech!* Looking back, he noticed Sogyoku still fighting Berserker. There were some wounds on her, but thanks to her healing factor, they would all heal quickly.

"Return, Sogyoku," Masato said this before raising his hand and revealing a bow in it.

{

[Bow of Moirai: S++]

Type: Anti-Unit Anti-Army

Information: A bow that was created by The Gamer, giving it his intense Will to Control the Flow of Things.

Only two Flows can be controlled at a time.

Affinities with Energies increase by 50% when equipped.

Durability: 100% (When not equipped, keep feeding it with Mana to restore its durability.)

}

As Sogyoku appeared beside him, Masato's pupil divided once more as he saw Berserker approaching.

He stretched the string, releasing the accumulated carbon dioxide within.

Everything became unstable all of a sudden as if the entire world had been distorted. Everything had been reversed – things that should have gone forward had gone backward, and things that should have fallen had flown; Masato had reversed the flow of direction.

On his bow, a transparent arrow formed, containing highly condensed Divinity. He clenched his teeth because it was his first time using Divinity, and it appeared to be more difficult than he had anticipated.

'Whatever it is, I will master it and add it to my list of things to learn.'

Thinking such thoughts, he released the arrow, which vanished as soon as it was released.

<>

'And... my naming sense stinks in every way...'

Berserker roared, sensing impending danger. But he couldn't do anything because the arrow had already penetrated his chest.

He could only roar in rage and displeasure before dissolving into particles and vanishing.

–Berserker and Lancer have withdrawn from the war.

{

Screech!* Sogyoku squealed with joy as she saw Berserker die.

Masato smiled and raised his hand, and she lowered her head for Masato to pet her.

She closed her eyes, as if she was enjoying Masato's attention.

"You're a good girl. Today you were brilliant."

She purred before dissolving into particles and disappearing. Masato had signed an <> with her. She would not die now, no matter what, as long as Masato was alive.

Masato sighed as she vanished, and the <> also vanished from his hands. He could feel the exhaustion rushing through his body as a result of using so many skills at once.

A loud voice entered his ear just as he was about to leave.

"That was an absolutely stunning fight! I'm glad I was called up for this war." Rider approached him in his war chariot, while Waver trembled just looking at him due to the horror.

He had assumed that even if they were legends from the past, they would not be that powerful. But he realized he was mistaken; the person in front of him could destroy the entire world on his own right now, and no one would be able to stop him!

... well, maybe a select few... but you get the idea.

"That wasn't even my 0.001%..." Masato looked him in the eyes and said.

"Hahaha! You're a funny person, as I've previously stated. So, how about this? Why don't we join hands? We'll be able to win even the stars with your help and my army! "

"If it wasn't for the fact that I'm tired, believe me, I would have killed you right here," Masato said, looking at him.

Rider's Noble Phantasm was the most difficult for Masato to defeat, but it wasn't impossible. Just that, if he was to defeat his army, he needed to be at his peak performance.

To say the least, the amount of energy he would need to take care of the entire army would be enormous.

"Well, then, I'll depart. I'd love to exchange fists with you, but I'm not in the habit of attacking someone who is tired. Then the next time we met, it would be when only one King stood between us."

Masato took a deep breath and sighed as Rider faded from his vision.

'What a long day...'

'I had no idea Master could get tired as The Gamer.'

He chuckled at his dark spirit's voice and said, 'You've yet to learn some things about me. Don't worry, I'll explain everything to you, thoroughly~.'

'... pervert.'
