Chances

It was the wee hours of the next day when she woke drenched in sweat. She whimpered trying to catch her breath.

It was too real to be just another dream. Humeyra let the tears fall from her eyes. She sobbed feeling no shame in letting her emotions escape their confines.

She felt afraid. She was afraid for her life. What was going on with her? She no longer felt safe in the place she called home.

Yet she couldn't blame it on anyone but herself. She ruined the tranquillity that once prevailed around the place.

As she crawled out of bed and staggered into the bathroom, she failed to notice the black shadow that was watching her through her open window.

Amelia almost felt sorry for the hybrid. Somehow, looking at her reminded her of where she had been before. Playing around with men's hearts and sleeping around right and left.
