Riku and Oliver pt.6

"Ughh its so good to put this bag down", Oliver sighed as they arrived back at his apartment.

"You could have just told me, that it was too heavy. I would've helped!"

"Nope. And it wasn't too heavy!"

Riku rolled his eyes as answer and then let himself fall down on the couch that Oliver was already sitting on.

They kept silent for a few seconds until Riku said "I love your couch man."

Oliver laughed.

"Me too. What time is it?"

Riku pulled his phone out of his pocket and showed it to him.

"Oh shoot, I gotta go. I don't wanna be late", Oliver said and jumped up.

"Oh, alright then."

"If there's anything, literally anything, call me, okay? I'll put my phone number on the table. See you later, Riku!"

And the door fell shut.

Immediately Riku felt lonely.

Then Oliver opened the door again and walked over to Riku, pulled him on his feet and asked "are you sure you'll be okay?"

Riku nodded and smiled shyly.

"Okay", Oliver said softly but didn't let go of the youngers shoulders yet.

"Shouldn't you go?", Riku asked after some seconds.

"Yes. I should."

Oliver let go of him and turned around to leave but he didn't walk forward.

He quickly turned to Riku, gave him a short kiss on his lips and walked out, leaving a blushing 23 year old behind.

Riku stayed there 2 more minutes until he sat back down and stiffly grabbed the pillow from the side where Oliver just had sat.

Riku smelled it. It smelled like him. It smelled nice.

Didn't they say, Riku could come with him? Why did Oliver leave so suddenly? Why didn't he invite him?

Maybe he didn't want to.

Maybe he wanted some time for himself now. Understandable, Riku had been glued to Oliver for the past hours now. He was surely tired of being around him.

And with that kind of dad, it was obvious, that Oliver didn't want to spend much time with Riku. He had pulled him into all of his family drama, who wouldn't run away?

He should put some music, Riku decided.

Last first kiss • One direction

Riku changed the channel.

Emotion Sickness • Said the sky

Riku changed the channel again. Aren't there any other than love songs on the radio?

Maybe it's time • Joey Stamper

Perfect.

"I'm glad I can't go back to where I came from.

I'm glad those days are gone and gone for good", Joey Stamper sang.

Riku sighed. Why did this have to fit so good?

He closed his eyes, held the pillow pressed to his chest and breathed the whole lyrics in.

"Staring at the ceiling, tossing in my bed. It's hard to get some sleep with daddys voices in my head- " Jake Miller started to sing as the song changed but Riku turned the radio off.

Enough with music for now.

Maybe he'd find something to do in his bag.

And see there! Old Lucky Luke comics! No clue, where those came from, Riku didn't remember packing them, but maybe they had already been in the bag.

Two hours later, he was finally done with the comics.

He found an Asterix & Obelix comic as well and had started reading it too.

After a little while though, Riku got bored from that too.

Sighing, he put the comics back into his bag.

He then stood up and first of all, put Oliver's phone number, written on a small piece of paper. into his pocket.

Then he looked for a spare key, Oliver would have one for sure.

He didn't want to spend the whole day in this apartment when he had just seen a big park, as he had looked outside the window earlier.

He was going to go there. Riku stepped in front of Olivers front door and checked underneath the mat. Bingo!

Why do people keep spare keys always at the same place?

Someone could easily break in.

On pen and paper he wrote a short message for him, in case he'd be back earlier than himself.

"At the park, took your spare key, sorry, I'll give it back, as soon as I'm-"

Riku wanted to write home but he didn't know if that might seem weird.

So he ripped the last part off and put the rest on the table.

Just as he wanted to close the door behind him, he saw the top of a guitar slipping out from underneath the couch.

How didn't he see before? Was he allowed to take it? Riku felt like an intruder, since he basically took all of his things and then just left.

He came back inside, wrote another letter, saying that he also took his guitar and that he was sorry for taking all of his things.

-

At the park, Riku looked for a nice, quiet place to sit and play.

Luckily there weren't many people there so nobody would disturb him.

He played for quite a while.

After some time, more and more people gathered around him, it even seemed as if the birds were listening too.

Riku didn't necessarily dislike their presence but he still felt unsure and wished for them to leave. He didn't try to seem ungrateful but he just wanted his peace.

That's why he played guitar in the first place.

He had just started playing another song and didn't notice how a blonde head traveled through the little crowd, right to the front.

Once in a while, Riku would look up and sometimes see new faces who joined as well.

But this time he saw a familiar face.

Right in front of him stood Oliver, hands in his pockets, smiling.

Riku's cheeks gained a new level of color as he looked down. He had stopped playing but some people still walked up to him and shook his hand, patted his head and told him that he did a good job.

After everyone left, Oliver came up to him and kneeled down to help him pick everything up.

"I have the feeling that you feel very comfortable with me", Oliver said.

"W-why?"

"You took my guitar, my spare key. You basically own the apartment now."

"I'm sorry I- I didn't know when you'd be back, I'm sorry- I'll ask next time, sorry!"

"Riku."

"Yeah?"

Oliver held his chin up to make him look at him.

"It's okay."

"Right, sorry."

"Stop apologizing! I'm not mad, hun."

"S-sorry."

Oliver chuckled.

"Let's go home shall we?"
