With the words of |Spirit Field| and something else that I didn't quite catch, Wilharrow and that Feerae vanished.
"What?! Where did they go?!" [Solace]
"...A |Spirit Field|?!" [Raon]
"Someone explain?!" [Solace]
Then the necromancer began to chuckle.
"Hehehe… Hahaha! Your Hero friend will die soon! My lord has pulled your leader into another dimension! In a one on one confrontation, the Hero is inferior!" [Yandel]
"...He made another dimension?" [Solace]
The necromancer raised a brow.
"...Yes?" [Yandel]
"Like, how does that work?" [Solace]
The necromancer glanced at my allies.
"You guys must have a lot of trouble handling an idiot like him." [Yandel]
"Yeah…" [Raon]
"Master says it's cowardly to lie." [Leon]
"And your answer?" [Yandel]
"No comment." [Leon]
Bruh. Are these guys having some kind of bonding time?
"Hey, knock it off. He's my idiot." [Fina]
Wait, what?
"Boy, I'll do you the favor of… enlightening you before your death. A |Spirit Field| is a separate dimension one can make once they level up their familiar spirit enough." [Yandel]
"What's the level?" [Solace]
"Roughly two hundred. The effects in the dimension also vary. However, it will always be in the favor of the caster." [Yandel]
"Oh…" [Solace]
I nodded along.
"Do you understand now? Not only is the Hero weaker, they will always be at a disadvantage within the-" [Yandel]
"So it's like a domain expansion?" [Solace]
The necromancer froze.
"...A what now?" [Yandel]
"A domain expansion." [Solace]
The necromancer massaged the spot between his eyes before letting out an annoyed sigh.
"I'm going to kill you before I get infected with your stupidity." [Yandel]
"Nah, I'd win." [Solace]
Magic circles formed in the necromancer's palm, leading me to believe that he would fire a projectile. That is, until I started to recognize the symbols in the circle.
("That's… the undead spell!") [Solace]
For a second, I really forgot what class this guy had. Necromancer. Were there any dead bodies here? Yep. Not just any dead body, specifically the first hero's.
"Awaken and do my bidding! First hero!" [Yandel]
We all turned to the coffin, holding our breaths thinking that we were probably royally screwed. However, there was only silence.
"...Um, was something supposed to happen?" [Raon]
He peered into the coffin only to see that the first hero was still resting peacefully.
"This can't be!" [Yandel]
He conjured a few runes and shot them into the coffin. Unfortunately, they dissipated upon contact with the hero.
"I think the first hero has immunity to this?" [Raon]
"We may have to ask Wilharrow about it since he's the authority on all hero things related." [Fina]
While we were joking around, the necromancer continued trying to bring the first hero back to life.
"Why?! Why isn't it working?!" [Yandel]
Yeah, that was enough. I wasn't going to let him try anything else.
"Okay, time to fight." [Solace]
"W-wait! Wait!" [Yandel]
I ignored him. I strolled up to him like it was nobody's business and started to beat the crap out of him. Without his skeletons, this guy was nothing. Plus, I also snapped his staff in half.
"No! That was carved out of a thousand year old Kisha wood and malignant seeped ore!" [Yandel]
I had no clue what those were, but they sounded expensive. So, I threw them into my item box.
"Y-You thief!" [Yandel]
"Me? A thief?" [Solace]
Didn't this guy come here to grave rob?
"Clench your teeth, you bastard. I'll beat you until your master comes back." [Solace]
I pummeled the necromancer, just now noticing other burn marks on his body. From what I can see, it didn't appear to be from any normal fire. It was like a beam hit him or something.
("Ah… Wilharrow's |Holy Ray|.") [Solace]
No wonder why this guy hated him so much. There was a lot more damage left on him in comparison to what I did. It made even more sense why this guy was so weak. Speaking of which, Wilharrow is in trouble right now.
"Leon, can you tie this guy up or something? I think I need to help Wilharrow. …Somehow." [Solace]
I would just kill this guy for the |Experience|, but I did promise to spare people when I could to Wilharrow. Though, if he says I can, I will.
"Should I come down?" [Raon]
"No, you stay up there with the relic. You're quite literally in the safest spot to protect it." [Solace]
Those stairs are formidable.
"Fina, do you have any idea on how to get to Wilharrow?" [Solace]
Even if it was a shot in the dark, Fina always knew how to get random things done.
"You need to break the |Spirit Field|." [Fina]
I then rolled my wrist as if to say "keep going".
"And?" [Solace]
"Try sensing a distortion of mana and strike it with your own. If your mana is strong enough, you can break it. Or, you can veil yourself in mana matching the |Spirit Field|'s frequency to enter it." [Fina]
Genuinely sounds like a domain expansion. …Kind of.
("I really don't know if this will work.") [Solace]
So I used a skill that I haven't used in a while.
("|Mana Detection|.") [Solace]
My vision shifted, revealing some kind of haze in the space before me. I call it haze, but it was more like wobbly air. Like when it's a hot day and you can see the heat in the distance.
("This must be it.") [Solace]
In order to break it, Fina told me to strike it with my mana. Did that mean just mana or could I use a skill?
("Meh, I'll just try pure mana first.") [Solace]
I focused mana into my fist, striking the distortion. The force I put into it caused the air to ripple like water. Unfortunately, it didn't break.
("...Guess we do it the hard way.") [Solace]
Though I really didn't want to enter the |Spirit Field|, I was left with no choice. In order to help Wilharrow, I enveloped myself with mana and jumped into it.
"Oh?" [Solace]
Is what passed my lips as I just didn't enter the |Spirit Field|.
"Match the |Spirit Field|'s mana frequency!" [Fina]
I forgot about that. I didn't really get what the frequency thing was, so I tried to touch the distortion in order to grasp it.
("Hm… Feels like jello.") [Solace]
As I thought that, my hand sank into the distortion.
"Uh… I didn't even start doing anything ye-" [Solace]
I felt an unknown force pull me in, which led me to a whole other dimension. From my first instance of entering I found myself standing in a field of flowers. Except that they all had black petals and Wilharrow was clashing with the knight ferociously.
"|Holy Ray|!" [Wilharrow]
"|Gentle Mirage|." [Balyagha]
I saw the knight fade through Wilharrow's light beam before striking his side with a kick.
"Urgh!" [Wilharrow]
He grit his teeth and stuck his sword into the ground, immediately flicking dirt at the knight.
"Is that how a hero fights?!" [Balyagha]
It was a strange scene to watch. Two people clashing blades in a field of black flowers under the blue light of the moon. I could also see that Wilharrow had more cuts and bruises piling up. Not including the cuts on his clothing from before.
("...Wait, moon?") [Solace]
Looking at how the craters were on this moon, it really stuck that I was in another dimension. It was really beautiful. …And then I remembered that I needed to help Wilharrow.
("Oh wow. He's getting his ass handed to him.") [Solace]
He got hit with a three piece combo of taking a blow to the knee, punched in the face, and topped off with struggling to stay alive while down. It was weird since they both used longswords. How is the hero losing at his own specialization?
("Yeah, I need to butt in.") [Solace]
I quickly rushed in, striking the knight with a fistful of |Explosion Arts| from behind.
"Argh!" [Balyagha]
He skidded across the ground, rolling before picking himself up.
"Who?!" [Balyagha]
"Alt?!" [Wilharrow]
The knight's eyes were wide with surprise as he spotted me.
"...So you managed to make your way in here." [Balyagha]
"Yeah. I also took care of your buddy out there." [Solace]
Balyagha furrowed his brows.
"You've sealed your fate by coming here." [Balyagha]
"Don't think that he's alone." [Wilharrow]
Wilharrow stood up expecting round two, but I placed my hand on his shoulder and pushed him back down.
"Have some rest. I'll handle this." [Solace]
I slipped Wilharrow a potion before approaching the knight.
"By the way, are you considered a prince?" [Solace]
"I do not think we are familiar enough to exchange words." [Balyagha]
"Is that so?" [Solace]
Rude bastard.
"Then how about exchanging blows?" [Solace]
