Nora was oblivious now as to what was going around whether the fire was burning the small house or the flames were rising high; she was in the safest place ever and it was the naked chest of the stranger. Her eyes were closed before but when she was sure that fire was not going to burn her; her eyes opened only to see the manly chest giving her enough cold to remain intact from the flames. That gluttonous and inhuman lady attacked a second time to kill the little Nora.
Nora wanted to look up at him but he was strongly holding her against his chest, the cold chest was like a cover for her; she never felt that she would feel this way for a stranger. "You are my winter" she smiled not knowing that she was smiling in the middle of the crisis. The young man lowered his head seeing that half of the rooftop was about to fall on them and they had no inches in place around to move and save themselves.
He wrapped her in his embrace and bent down so that the burning planks could not hurt the girl. The frost enveloped them in the meantime and the whole structure of the small house crumbled after getting burned. The gamblers left when they saw that nobody tried to shout out for help nor anyone came out of the house, it means the girl burnt away when she was sleeping unaware. They went to tell the lady that they have done their job.
After some time the fire died down and the young man held her in his arms to walk out of the burning ashes, it was middle of the night and they were standing in the open looking at the burnt house. "How did you save us?" above all questions and strange things Nora can no more keep this question to herself. Her house was burnt in front of her eyes and it increased the number of her worries most of them can be addressed but this stranger was becoming more mysterious for her. Her question "how you save us" was just like hitting a wall, that couldn't reply, but she was grateful too to this strange mute man for all his help.
He lowered his head just like before and Norah sighed. "From now on I will call you Winter and tell me when you are ready to talk about yourself." She stomped her feet, not angry but not contented as well. To spend the whole night in the open was not a good idea, Nora looked in the distance and saw the neighborhood house which was forty or fifty feet away.
Being in the bed and covered with a blanket both uncle and aunt could not get to know what was going outside. Nora knocked on the door and waited patiently. After some time the old aunt appeared at the door and got more surprised to see Nora coming to their house in the middle of the night. "What happened little Nora, why are you looking nervous?" the old aunt politely asked.
"Aunt Vera! My house burnt away, can you give some place to both of us until we build the house again?" she almost pleaded. "Us? Who is the second one?" the aunt looked around. "Come here Winter," Nora voiced and the young man came in front. The aunt was shocked to see such a handsome man with the little girl. "He saved me from burning inside the house, I don't know who set the house on fire." She tried to explain.
"How do you know this young man?" The old aunt was not skeptical about the character of the girl but she wanted to know how they were along. "Few days ago I took pity because he was wounded and helped a little." Nora innocently told aunt. From her tone the old aunt could tell that she was not hiding anything. "Alright! But you know our house has no spare room, I can only give my store for your stay." The old aunt pointed toward the store which was adjacent to the house, "But worry not; I will give some warm clothing since it is cold." She smiled affectionately and almost glared at the man.
Nora was thankful at least they got some shelter. They opened the store and the number of broken or worn out house items welcomed them which were no more in use or they were simply thrown by the house lady. "Oh! We have to move them aside to get small place clean for rest." She pointed with visible tiredness. "This all began with the ominous birthday but I am glad that I am no more indebted to someone secretly sending money after all it was dependence on the unknown shores. It seemed more surprises are awaiting…" she was removing the luggage speaking to herself.
The man was silently listening. Who knows what was happening in the dragon world whether his father was able to collect evidence to prove his neutral character in the battle between two tribes of dragons or the Zero race was forcing him to bring the son back. What happened to the matter of his mother being blamed for keeping secrets from the Dragon Lord. He was not supposed to talk between such personal matters of his parents. Everything was turning against him and he was helpless to tackle because he never knew the actual truth.
He only returned from the Dragon Island after learning first and second deep roots of a rare race dragon's and how to control them in time of berserk breakings. He belonged to the rare race of dragons and his ice attribute was deep rooted, this kind of dragon race was known because of its powers getting out of control, this race was no doubt powerful but to go out of control was strongly detested by others that was the reason that this race sent the offspring's to learn how to control their ice attribute. He could only wish that he could return back one day and see his father and mother alive. Abecedarian Dragon King was counting the days on his fingers, according to his calculations; his son would be healed in one month living in that specific world of humans.
