Upon arriving home, Joe face-planted onto his bed and immediately fell asleep.
The next morning, Joe was thinking about his future plans in the shower. He would become a Wizard.
But what next? He didn't quite know. Become a Sage, Great Sage, or even a Saint? What was the point really?
Joe didn't have any special kind of story like a broken engagement, or oppression from a family clan.
All he had was an average face, and regular parents. Joe didn't quite understand his goal, but he decided to think about it now that he was sure he had future potential. Joe was a rather uninformed person, and planned to make money with his magic powers.
His innermost thoughts were, 'If I can make money, I can buy a nice house, and live a prosperous life!'
Fortunately or unfortunately, the System butted in to give the MC a reality check and heighten his standards.
[Host should have greater ambitions. At the level of Archmage, Host can already split a small mountain. Using such great powers for such small ambitions is a great waste]
Joe already clearly understood what he could do in the future stages of his cultivation, but he just didn't quite know what to do with those future powers. He was just an average person with slightly stronger morals, which was why he didn't want to let the kittens lose their memories. That would literally kill them, in the sense they would forget how to breathe.
[The System has a suggestion. Perhaps the Host could gather the 69 Scriptures and break free of the cultivation restriction]
'But why would I do that?', Joe inwardly wondered.
[Should the Host not break the cultivation restriction, the Host cannot reproduce freely. Should not reproduction be the greatest goal of the Host as a biological creature?]
Joe decided to ignore the system's tactless remark and decided he should buy the however much of the Virginity Scripture was in the run-down bookstore that Chad had mentioned.
After changing into socially acceptable clothing, Joe walked down the street, passed the 7-11 down the road, and found the bookstore.
It seemed rather eerie, and quite uninviting. It seemed like a real mystery why Chad would even come inside such a place.
However, Joe steeled his mind, and attempted to clear his mind of the eerie and uninviting atmosphere. He waltzed around the old wooden bookcases as he stared at the spines of the books, searching for the Scripture.
While walking around, he noticed a middle-aged man sitting at the counter. Joe's eyes brightened at the possibility.
'Is he a Wizard? He fits the age criteria, and since he had the first volume, maybe he is a Wizard?'
However, Joe didn't entertain the possibility for long as he continued searching.
'Ah! Found it.'
The Scripture was on the end of the last bookcase he searched through, in the corner of the store. Although he was inwardly wondering why Chad would be searching so thoroughly for something, he kept his curiosity at bay as he reached out toward the Scripture.
'Is it authentic?'
[Confirmed. The Scripture in the Host's hand is authentic according to rational information flow]
'So, you mean that it left off where the last volume ended, and you just guessed?'
[...]
Joe's doubts didn't linger long as he walked over to the counter.
The middle-aged man had sharp features, and chiseled jawline. His eyes seemed like they could see through Joe easily.
Joe uneasily stepped forward and placed the book down on the counter.
"Um, I would like to buy this book."
The middle-aged man with sharp features only stared at him while leaning back in his chair. Suddenly, he narrowed his eyes and spoke.
"And what would a young man like yourself want with a book like this?"
Joe started to sweat. The way the man spoke made it seem as though he already knew Joe was training as a Wizard. But he had nothing to fear. He wasn't doing anything wrong, so he decided to reply honestly.
"Wizard training, sir."
"I see. What exactly is this 'Wizard training' you're doing?"
"I thought you would know."
Joe decided to ask if he was a Wizard, as it seemed clear the man knew what he was talking about.
"Are you a Wizard?"
The man chuckled. "And how's that important to you?"
"I would like you to teach me."
To Joe's surprise, the middle-aged man nodded.
"As long as you join the Nine Towers of Purity, I can teach you, young man."
"Sure."
Joe agreed quickly, as this man would be his ticket to learning more about the magical world.
