Coming of the Runway King: Lucien's Story

Lucien was stumped by the words that as a response he took the picture from Elijah's hands for a closer look .


Elijah was right. They looked nothing like Leon and Ilya Fabbri except for the eye color they share with the former. However, as he took a closer look, he noticed something.


As Lucien scanned the picture, Elijah got up and walked over to the sideboard next to the hearth. He took out a decanter of bourbon and two cups. He brought them to the coffee table and poured minimal amounts into both.  He took a sip and slumped into the couch.


"Eli, take a look at the picture ". "I don't want to Lucien. I have no joy in seeing that we are not related to them". Lucien could tell from Elijah's tone that he was pissed but more importantly could feel the betrayal that he was trying to hide from him. He got off the carpet and sat next to Elijah who promptly handed over the second glass of bourbon. 


It was quiet as they sat on the couch drinking bourbon while processing the fact that they are not related to the Fabbris completely.


"Kain is their son ". Elijah froze at the mention of Kain. "How are you sure ? ". "He looks exactly like Ilya Fabbri but with Leon's features ". Lucien stated the observations as he handed over his phone with the latest picture of Kain. Elijah took one look and recognized both the elders' features in Kain.


"I will conduct a secret investigation and find out what in the name of God happened to our birth family. For now, don't tell anyone. Got it ?". Lucien nodded stating that he understood.


"Regarding your future career plans. you want to be the Runway King. You want to join the modelling industry and become the top model ". 


"Yes, I do. I can feel it in my blood that it is what I want to do. I have no interest in becoming a actor. I am willing to act but it ain't my cup of tea." 


Lucien recalled the hardships he had to go through just to get a role and prove that he was good.  In the end, it was in vain as Kain had pulled strings to ensure that he remained rock bottom.


Elijah saw the determination in Lucien's eyes and felt his resolve and ambition. He knew that his baby brother one day was going to be a force to be reckoned with.


" Very well. I know just which agency to take you to for an audition. Go get some sleep. It is going to be a long day tomorrow for the two of us ".


"Good night, Eli " Lucien got up and kissed Eli on the cheek. Elijah ruffled his hair and gave a kiss back as well. Lucien left and headed straight for his room.


It was going to be a long night for both of them especially for Lucien as he had to make up a Whole new game plan to tackle the events that were to come to pass this time around.
