Does she have water in her brain?

Amaris did not know what happened. She only heard Suzzie's shriek and the next second she was gone. Without thinking about anything she hurriedly went after her friend. Amaris knows that Suzzie is strong but that does not make her worry any less for her friend.

On the other hand, Kai and Rudy did not come to help, not even when they saw that the girl did not stop with her tackle. She raised her fist and very swiftly landed a punch on his gut.

'Serves him right.' Rudy muttered and looked at Kai. He saw him nod and felt immense satisfaction surge inside. Clearly, both of them were on the same page regarding this matter. Maybe this will teach Drake to be a bit more careful next time.

Drake had landed on the ground with a loud thud.

Thankfully, it was soft ground and not hard concrete of court otherwise his head would have split open by the impact. He tried to push the girl off of his body but did not get a chance. The assault was sudden and all of the air left his lungs with a woosh as the girl hit him in his gut.

Damn! She could pack a punch!

Drake mused but then the admiration left his mind as he thought of something else. For example, his image! If anyone saw him getting smashed by a girl then his reputation would be ruined.

Drake frowned. He knew that Kai and Rudy will not let him in peace after this. He would definitely get teased over this for a whole lot of time, maybe for eternity! He felt another punch at the same spot and his anger flared.

Was she crazy? Why would she punch him? What did he do wrong?

Suzzie has not taken a look at the face of the intruder. If she had then she would not have dared to attack him so blatantly. She has only heard the whistle and saw a guy coming towards them.

She has acted on impulse and tacked him to the ground. Then without any other thought, she has started her attack.

'Ya pervert! What were ya hiding there for?' She shouted as she landed another blow.

Drake finally snapped into reality when he registered her words.

She called him a pervert! This girl!

He grabbed her shoulders and then changed their positions. The sudden reversal in position caught Suzzie off guard and finally, she got a good look at his face.

Suzzie froze in shock for a moment when she saw who the person was. It actually turned out to be Drake!

Her Drake! Her crush!

Since their position was reversed Drake hovered over Suzzie. He felt the girl go limp and slightly loosened his hold. He looked at her face and saw something flashed across her blue eyes. He did not know what kind of emotion it was. But he felt smug that finally, she knows her position.

'You have pretty eyes.' Drake blurted out as soon as the thought came to him.

Suzzie did not hear what Drake said. She has yet to recover from the shock that she just punched her crush. But the mortification only lasted a few seconds when other reality cleared her mind.

So what is her crush? This does not change the fact that HE STILL IS A PERVERT!

She could hear her heart, as it broke into millions of pieces. How could she like a pervert! With an anguish-filled moan, she tried to hit him again. But it was in vain.

'Let go of me… ya pervert!'

Drake thought that she was doing fine but then again she started struggling and calling him a pervert. He is not a pervert.

'I am not a-'. Before Drake could finish his sentence he was hit from the back.

'Leave my friend alone, you big pervert!' Amaris shouted and hit his back.

'What the-' he groaned and could not decide which girl to focus on first, the one who was struggling under him or the one on his back. He felt like he will go deaf from all this shouting. And what's with everyone calling him a pervert!

He is not a pervert. He has yet to have his first relationship, his first kiss!

Amaris was about to climb on the guy's back but before she could do so she felt arms go around her waist and suddenly she was lifted in the air. She shrieked and frantically made attempt to grab onto something.

Kai saw as Amaris hit Drake's back and was about to jump on him?!

Something did not feel right. His heart felt a huge wave of something but what was it? No, it has nothing do to with Drake being beaten up by her. She could hit him more if she wanted to do that. But the thought of her jumping on Drake's back sprung Kai into action.

Kai immediately caught her from the waist and lifted her up. He realized that she was very light and short. Because she was wiggling too much he could not help but frown. If she continued then she would likely fell and hurt herself.

The urge to reprimand her overpowered his senses.

'Don't move, otherwise, I will drop you.' Kai whispered near her ear.

Amaris froze when she heard a guy's voice. It was rough and deep and since he spoke so close to her ear she shivered involuntarily. It was her body's natural reaction. Amaris ceased her struggle because something was telling her that if she continued then he might really do it.

'Good girl.' Kai praised the now obedient girl in his arm. He lowered her to the ground and in the end, he could not resist and sniffed her hair. The fragrance was sweet maybe fruity, he could not pinpoint exactly. But whatever it was, it smelled great.

'Here you go.' Kai once again spoke near her ear and sneaked another whiff of her scent.

As soon as Amaris's feet touched the ground she spun around to see who it was. Her eyes widened when her gaze landed on a familiar face. She knew this person.

'It's you!' Amaris said feeling stunned. And then her eyes got even bigger if that was possible when another realization struck her.

She just heard him which means he can speak!

'You can speak!' Amaris blurted out her thoughts.

Kai was amused by her reaction. He wanted to drag this mute and deaf game a bit longer as he was having so much fun. But alas! It ended so soon.

'Yes, I can.' Kai agreed amicably.

Amaris felt that she missed something. But what was that? It was another important thing about him. It was almost within her reach but still in the end she could not grasp it.

Kai watched with mild amusement as her face scrunched up in pondering. He wondered what she was thinking. She looked cute though. Soon though the cuteness was gone, it was replaced by desire. Kai saw as she bit her lower lip and continued to think.

This girl was so lost in her thoughts that she did not even realize that he still has his hands on her waist.

What a silly girl!

He thought to take advantage of this situation and his hands started to explore the uncharted territory. His fingers have barely moved an inch when he saw her eyes lit up like fireworks.

Amaris finally remembered it. He gave her reply as if he could hear her.

'You can hear me too!' Amaris said feeling astonished.

'You just figured it out.' Kai replied cordially.

Then another thing dawned on Amaris. She completely made a fool out of herself in front of him yesterday. Amaris wanted to hide in a hole. How can she jump to this conclusion? Is there something wrong with her?

Feeling frustrated, she lifted her right foot and stomped on the ground very hard. It was a habit of hers. Whenever she felt aggravated she did that, along with walking around all the time stomping heavily.

This time was also no different.

But she miscalculated.

Her foot landed on something else, it was Kai's foot.

Kai was caught off guard and when her foot landed on his, the pain was great and he let go of her and stepped back hurriedly.

Amaris understood that once again she took the wrong step. This time quite literally.

'I am so sorry, Jayden. I really am. I did not mean it Jayden.' Amaris pleaded anxiously.

But the reaction she got did not seem like he would forgive her any time soon.

Kai thought he heard her wrong. She was calling him Jayden? Does she got a problem in her brain?! Maybe, because first, she took him as deaf and mute, and now she was calling him Jayden!

Does she have water in her brain?

'It's Kai.' He said firmly.

Amaris really wanted to hit herself.

'I am sorry, Kai. How can I make it up to you? Please tell me. I will do anything.' Amaris said sincerely.

She really did wrong him, multiple times.
