Chapter 5 - Attribute points

Arthur surveyed his surroundings once more for a few seconds. Once this was done and seeing that he was safe, he sat cross-legged on the floor while he thought better of the sudden events.

He remembered everything that happened after escaping from the F rank dungeon in which he nearly lost his life due to an oversight by his team.

After exiting the dungeon, he was magically healed by a voice in his head, after that strange fact, the same voice in his head teleported him to this mysterious cavern that is similar to a dungeon. In said dungeon, he had to fight a goblin with a weapon that magically appeared from the air.

"I have never heard of this ... Not even a scene similar to what is happening to me has been mentioned in the interviews of the S rank hunters who went exploring the elemental islands a couple of years ago." Arthur thought with a frown.

Arthur looked at the gun in his hands. Although the short sword in his hands looked quite ancient compared to today's weapons, his exquisite design could compete against a high-grade weapon.

Arthur continued to see the short sword when a holographic window suddenly appeared in front of his eyes.

[Discovered object: Ancient sword.]

[Type: Weapon.]

[Rarity: Common.]

[Durability: 10/10]

Staring at the window, Arthur was surprised. But his surprise was replaced by curiosity. He read the information on the window and only one thought came to his head: "It's like a game."

Arthur tried to touch his hand to the window in front of him. His hand just passed by without making contact with anything.

"This ..." Arthur thought with his eyes closed for a few minutes. That's when a light went on in his head.

With a snap, Arthur said, "Oh, I remember. This is like those typical fantasy novels where there is a system like in video games. "

Remembering these novels that he read when he was little, Arthur remembered something that could help him in this situation.

"Status window." Arthur said.

Name: Arthur Carey

Level: 2 (0/200)

Class: None.

Health: 200/200

Mana: 50/200

Strength: 5 [+]

Resistance: 2 [+]

Agility: 5 [+]

Intelligence: 2 [+]

Perception: 3 [+]

Available Attribute Points: 5

Skills: [Physical Strengthening]

Arthur glanced at his status window as his eyes fell on the attribute points available to him. He had five points to use as he pleased.

"If I remember correctly, these can increase any of my attributes from my status." Thought Arthur. Then he opened his mouth and said, "I don't lose anything by trying."

Arthur raised his hand as he pointed to his strength stat specifically in the option next to it. Surprisingly his finger felt like he was pressing something.

[Strength: 10]

Arthur didn't hesitate to use all of his attribute points. After assigning them, he felt a refreshing sensation run through every fiber of his body.

"I could get used to this." Arthur thought as he clenched his fists tightly.

The sensation was slight in his body, but Arthur managed to feel how his body had gained an improvement in strength.

"If to improve my strength it is necessary to level up to gain more attribute points, and for that it is necessary to kill beasts, then I will gladly continue to do so."

Arthur got up from the ground with a gleam of excitement in his eyes and walked towards the stone passage with the short sword in his hands.

"This is a dungeon, so I'll just continue to explore it. Although… this will be more dangerous since I am alone. I don't have a tank that can withstand the attacks. Nor is a healer who can heal wounds, much less long-range attackers to keep the beasts at bay… I have to be cautious. " Arthur thought as he entered the passage without fear.

After exploring so many dungeons for two years, Arthur was no longer afraid of spooky places. It's something you get used to over time.

Arthur noticed that when he was about to approach the darkened areas, more magic stones on the walls would suddenly light up to point the way. Arthur kept his gaze straight ahead and took each step cautiously.

As he continued walking, Arthur thought of other functions he remembered from the systems.

"Shop."

A vertical holographic window in the shape of a rectangle appeared next to him with an endless list of all kinds of objects. Arthur saw tools, potions, weapons, armor, single-use spells, and abilities.

All these things were for sale at different prices. Each object had its own description. Arthur saw his current balance in the lower right corner of the store. That it was a few ten gold.

"Eh? That money must belong to the goblin I originally killed when I got to this dungeon. "

Although there were all kinds of objects for sale, Arthur could not buy any since the necessary amount of gold amounted to the thousands or even hundreds of thousands. For the humble 10 gold of him, it was a huge blow.

Arthur put aside his tent that disappeared after a few seconds and thought of another option from his system. "Inventory."

A holographic window similar to the one before appeared next to Arthur. It had a hundred available spaces of which one was occupied.

"It seemed strange to me that my luggage has disappeared. It's lucky he was still safe. Otherwise, you would have to pay a lot to lose the association's resources. "

Arthur saw how his luggage with the resources given to him by the hunters' association was occupying the first space of his inventory.

Arthur focused his attention on the equipment and a miniature window appeared pointing to the contents inside the backpack.

[Do you want to get out of the dungeon?]

A message was heard in Arthur's mind as he tested more options from his system. At least he could get out of the dungeon he was in, which was good. He thought for a moment that he would spend the rest of his life in this place.

For now, Arthur had no plans to leave the dungeon. If he had the chance and the luck to become stronger in this place by slaying beasts, why wouldn't he take it?

Arthur continued walking down the hall when his footsteps stopped suddenly. Looking straight ahead at the area that was recently lit up, Arthur saw two goblins growling with hostile intent.

These two goblins had a similar appearance to the goblin that Arthur murdered earlier. Noticing their prey, the pair of goblins did not hesitate to be the first to start the fight.
