Recent events in the First Haven caused major change in the split of crew members across the existing settlements. Due to safety concerns, by a majority vote, people living there decided the best course of action was to join the group staying in the Industrial Caves before leaving towards the main rally point in hope of meeting more colleagues who safely reached the planet's surface.

Initially, most of colonists thought it will be easy to start a life on the New Gaia as long as they had security from the dangerous nature of the planet, completely ignoring the threat coming from different factions people in the crew belonged to. While everyone was aware each person has their own circumstances, most would never have imagined that individual's private business could lead to large scale incidents involving numerous people, but that was exactly what happened in the First Haven.

For now, majority of crew members around is sure this was a work of their comrades from the Future ship, specifically pointing at those who were replaced during the flight, following series of smaller incidents on the way. However, based on information I have obtained so far, there is a chance we may be facing more people representing interests of their respective organizations than the numbers we had on board of Future. While there is no concrete proof of the fact, the number of individuals unregistered in crew list that arrived to the First Haven, based on the log, is suggesting there might have been more than one space vessel, other than Future, that made its way to the New Gaia.

Right now, I'm still focusing on day-to-day activities, recently helping out in coordinating the move between the First Haven and the Industrial Caves, and currently working on investigation of the underground in our current settlement, but ultimately, I will have to put more thought into understanding the divisions between the crew members and decide who is trustworthy enough to share information with. As the situation is now, I'm shouldering all this weight on my own, which is not an optimal solution since - all by myself - I don't think I have enough strength and influence to take action. I would love to have easy time deciding on who to trust, yet recent events made it clear to me that even someone close to you, someone you believed can be relied on, even count them as a friend, can do something unexpected, even if it was against their own will. I ended up learning the hard way that it's important to choose one's friends wisely.

Of course, I don't mean none of my current close ones in the crew are unworthy of my trust - I just need time to clear out any potential concerns I may have about specific people. Ultimately, whatever I decide, I cannot be ever sure of other person's intentions.

Either way, I had to go through a number of different conversations after visiting the underground of Industrail Caves, and then there was an incident in First Haven. Looking back, the number of various problems seems to keep growing each day despite so many issues getting fixed on the way, therefore I cannot be sure that I'm safe myself and have enough time for sharing my findings.

Knowing that this widespread division among humanity originating from Earth is still with us here on New Gaia, possibly having even bigger impact here, I definitely need to keep a record of what I learned so far, whether it is related to my scientific findings or topics revolving around people's different objectives, such as RuzDet's involvement. After all, if I meet my end due to any such incidents as the ones before, this will give others a chance to react after getting access to a full depository.

With that in mind, today's journal entry is accompanied by an encrypted key to the main database of my PEC, which includes all substantial data I've gathered so far, accompanied by my personal notes and results obtained from every analysis, simulation and experiment I had a chance to run.

In the event of my death, everything I did so far and anything that will be done until that moment, can be obtained by another person to continue my research.

Obviously, one will need significant amount of knowledge and ability to analyze every journal entry I created so far, otherwise they will be unable to use the key.

While I'm saying that, I don't have any intention of dying anytime soon. If possible, I want to live as long as I can and will do everything in my power to survive. Creating a key is mainly a precaution, done just in case.

Hopefully, when I go back to review my past journal entries, I will meet this particular one with a wide smile, enjoying a calm evening in a comfortable armchair.
