The Little Heir

Standing on the balcony with one of her hands on the railing while the other one is holding her phone to her ear, J stares at the vast ocean behind the mansion. It felt like she was back over two decades ago. When everything was simple.

The whisper of the waves that are crashing through the rocks as if calling her to play with them like she did when she was just an innocent child.

It felt nostalgic.

The sounds of the ocean bring her memories of the past. She was happy, playful, innocent, and naive. She was ignorant of the threats that are surrounding her and her family. She was not worrying that if she stepped out of the estate, one single bullet could find its way through the shell of her brain. The only worry that she has is the horses in the shed. Are they being fed well? Are they sick? Are they cold?

She doesn't fear anything but spiders.

Ignorance was bliss.
