"Being married to you means the world to me. Don't worry about my family, they knew, and they were much eager to protect you. I don't care if my life would be in danger as long as you are safe. My life is not normal without you in it. Ah… what was the last one?" Jacob stopped and rubbed his chin trying to remember J's last word before he interfered.

"Ah! Right!" Jacob's eyes gleamed when he seemed to remember. "I was so glad that your grandfather dragged me into this messy and complicated life of yours. Because if he didn't, I would be forcing myself into your life, even if you don't want to."

"Was I able to answer all your questions, Mrs. Jacob Parker?" Jacob asked, emphasizing how he addresses J as Mrs. Jacob Parker indicating that whoever she is, she would still be his wife.

At the age of 10, J's parents died in an ambush leaving her in the care of her grandfather who years later sent her away along with her best friend to hide her and her identity from those who would try to kill her after her parents.

20 years later, a lot of things had already happened. Her grandfather died. She is back in the country for good though still hiding her identity. Everything was peaceful until a man came claiming her as his wife.

Since then, her peaceful life flipped upside down. People who want her dead found her but his so-called husband never left her. He was even willing to kill and be killed just to protect her.

The Society's Heiress

Sadie drove through the woods that would lead her to the Parkers' residence. Ever since she left her restaurant, she was having doubts and hesitations if she should come or have someone deliver the food that her Aunt J ordered. But she had already told her Aunt J that she would be the one to deliver the food since it was on her way home.

Now Sadie regretted it. She realized how odd it was that her Aunt J ordered food and requested for it to be delivered by her to their house. J is a good cook just like her mother and she always makes sure that she is the one who cooks her family's meals. Sadie is wondering if her Aunt J has a hidden intention for such a request.

Sadie continued to drive as she tapped her fingers on the steering wheel.

Soon enough, the Parkers' residence came into view and much to her relief, she didn't find Elijah's car in the driveway. But that doesn't mean he will not come any moment from now.
