"Being married to you means the world to me. Don't worry about my family, they knew, and they were much eager to protect you. I don't care if my life would be in danger as long as you are safe. My life is not normal without you in it. Ah… what was the last one?" Jacob stopped and rubbed his chin trying to remember J's last word before he interfered.

"Ah! Right!" Jacob's eyes gleamed when he seemed to remember. "I was so glad that your grandfather dragged me into this messy and complicated life of yours. Because if he didn't, I would be forcing myself into your life, even if you don't want to."

"Was I able to answer all your questions, Mrs. Jacob Parker?" Jacob asked, emphasizing how he addresses J as Mrs. Jacob Parker indicating that whoever she is, she would still be his wife.

At the age of 10, J's parents died in an ambush leaving her in the care of her grandfather who years later sent her away along with her best friend to hide her and her identity from those who would try to kill her after her parents.

20 years later, a lot of things had already happened. Her grandfather died. She is back in the country for good though still hiding her identity. Everything was peaceful until a man came claiming her as his wife.

Since then, her peaceful life flipped upside down. People who want her dead found her but his so-called husband never left her. He was even willing to kill and be killed just to protect her.

The Society's Heiress

"Can't sleep?" Diana was startled when she heard Leo speak. He is lying on his back with one of his hands under his head while the other wraps around her.

When she boldly asked him to stay, he didn't hesitate and lay down on the bed with her without taking his arms off of her which she didn't mind. She felt safe and comfortable in his arms.

Diana's head is on Leo's chest, her eyes are still wide open as she watches Leo's chest rise up and down. Once in a while, she would look up to see his eyes close.

She thought he was already asleep but Leo opened his eyes and found her wide awake watching him.

Diana immediately blushed. "I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" She lowered her eyes to avoid his gaze.

"No, I was never asleep," Leo promised Timothy that he will chase away Diana's nightmares and he will do just that even if it means that he doesn't go to sleep so that he could watch over her.
