Death of a Genius, Birth of a Legend

"Yu Lingbao! Do you admit to your crimes?"

The voice descended towards a young man who appeared to be in his twenties. He had a muscular figure and tanned skin with short, black hair. Plastered on his face were two determined blue eyes and a brave smile as he said, "I do not."

The figure seated raised his brows in question. Next to the raised chair with the inscriptions of a blue dragon, a man stood shaking in anger began to step forward. Noticing this, the seated figure held up his hand, stopping the angry man. He spoke, "Yu Lingbao, do not make this difficult! Although you are a genius, do not forget that you are also only an external clansman of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. It is not your place to interfere with the actions of internal members."

The man who was being criticized appeared to be in disbelief. "Not my place? He was harassing the females of our own clan! Even if he is the son of a respected elder, these actions... they are too much! Protecting a fellow clansmen, this is the only crime that I will admit to doing."

The seated figure crushed the armrest of the throne. Even the durability of the precious steels used to make this throne were instantly destroyed under this man's formidable spirit pressure. He was Yu Luomian, who although was not the Clan Head, was his brother and carried similar authority when the Clan Head was absent. "Presumptuous. Seeing your determination, I see no more need for questioning. My verdict is final. Yu Lingbao is declared guilty of ignoring his elders and acting against the interest of the Clan. I hereby sentence him to expulsion from the Clan and..." Yu Luomian narrowed his eyes menacingly, "...dissipation of spirit power."

"What!? Father, no you can't--" At this time, the figure of a woman stepped out. She was Liu Erlong, Luomian's daughter born from a prostitute. He did not acknowledge her however, and told her to take her mother's surname.

"You are not allowed to call me Father nor question my decisions. Speak again, and I will have the guards give you thirty lashings," Yu Luomian said.

Hearing those word, Liu Erlong quieted down although she continued to send concerned glances to Yu Lingbao. Being born to a prostitute, her standing within the clan was not much better than others in the Clan despite being the daughter of the Second Head. This allowed Liu Erlong to befriend Yu Lingbao at an early age with no one caring. Having been friends for so long, she was concerned for him.

This was especially the case when she heard the punishment would be to dissipate Lingbao's martial arts. The Clan's punishment of expulsion was harsh but only meant that he was to live away from them and change his surname. The punishment of dissipation however... She knew that although Lingbao was a Clan genius, he was still an external member who was not financially supported by the Clan. It was only her that saw him practice day and night to the point of bleeding. And so, to imagine all of those years of effort going down the drain this way... 'No,' she thought shaking her head. 'I can't let that happen.' As she was about to speak out again knowing the wrath she might receive, Lingbao stopped her.

"Stop, Erlong." He looked at her telling her to go back. He turned his head towards Yu Luomian before calmly stating, "I accept my punishment." Erlong began to silently shed tears.

Luomian curiously watched this exchange between the two, his brow folded in thought. Hearing Lingbao's words, he nodded his head. "Good, it seems that you now understand--"

Before he could finish, Lingbao cut him off. "I only said that I accept my punishment. I do not admit to my wrongdoings."

Spiritual pressure erupted once more from Luomian as he ordered the guards. "Waste that man's cultivation and send him out the gate! Let me never see his face again." With that, he disappeared from the hall in a bout of anger.

Obeying his order, the guards lifted Lingbao who made no attempt to resist. He was promptly escorted out the Clan's large gate, where one of them specifically punched into his stomach. It instantly caused Lingbao to cough blood. No longer concerned with him, the guards walked away, leaving him outside the gate.

Lingbao knew better than to stay as Luomian only refrained from killing him as that would be overreaching his authority and challenging the Clan Head's set rules to not kill another Clansmen within the premises.

And so, taking one last look at the place he grew up, he boarded a nearby boat and took off. The legend of Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon's great external clan genius, Yu Lingbao, ended here while a new destiny was slowly being born.
