The best day of my life.

“Olivia, are you ready to go?" My sister asks me. "Yes, of course I am! I still can't believe that we will see Dylan live for the first time and that we got the Vip package! Allison, please tell me that this is not a dream!" I almost scream.

I seriously can't believe that I'm going to meet my idol. Dylan Foster. The person that helped me through the most challenging times, the one that makes me happy as no one else can, the one that makes me emotional every time!

"No, Olivia, this is not a dream. We are going to meet him, hug him, and take a picture with him!" My sister answers. "Omg, I'm so happy! Thank you, Ally, this is the best birthday gift ever. I would never thank you enough!" She smiles at me, and then she grabs the keys and locks the door. We head to her car and get in.

I immediately put on Dylan's last album, so we sing along and try to get physically prepared to meet him during the ride, but I fail because I am very nervous. Since the M&G starts at 7 pm, we needed to arrive at the arena at 6 pm. After we park the car near there, I suddenly froze. Am I seriously going to meet Dylan Foster? I mean, this sounds so unreal, and only the thought of being near him makes me nervous. Allison looks at me a little bit worried and asks: "Are you okay?" "Yeah, sure." I lie.

There are a couple of guards in front of the stadium. They’re making queues for the people who have the VIP Package and those who don’t. We show our VIP tickets to the guard, and then he puts us in a queue. "The M&G will start soon, so you won't have to wait a lot. Just be nice and try not to assault Dylan, there are many crazy fans, and we don't want that to happen. Just follow the queue, take the pic and then go, so everything is going to be fast and without any hitch." The guard explains. We nod and then follow the queue.

Suddenly the line starts to move. That means that the m&g has begun. There are about ten persons in front of me. Since Allison is behind me, she notices that my hands are shaking, so she grabs them. "Olivia, everything is going to be okay. Don't let the anxiety ruin this special moment, your moment. In less than ten minutes, you are going to meet your idol. You dreamt this moment for the last three years, so take deep breaths and chill. Let's do this." She encourages me and helps me calm down in a way that no one else can, so I soon feel better.

It’s my turn. I walk into the m&g room, and there he is, the most handsome boy that I have ever seen in my whole life. God, if from the pics he looked hot as hell, he looks even hotter in real life. I can't stop staring at him. I am afraid that I am about to drool seriously. I get closer to him, and he looks at me. "Hi hun, how are you?" He asks with a deep voice. "I am fine, thanks, even though a bit nervous." I answer shyly. "Don't be. You look gorgeous." He pulls me in for a hug. My whole body is on fire.

I don't know why, but I feel safe between his strong arms. God, he smells so damn good. I want to smell his scent for the rest of my life, but of course, I can't. I’m really short for being eighteen, so I can barely reach Dylan's chest, but it’s a nice and comforting feeling. He breaks the hug and asks: "So, what pose do you wanna get for the picture?" I think for a second about it, and then I explain to Dylan the picture’s position. He immediately goes behind me, putting his arms around my waist, intertwining hands. "Are you ready?" The photographer asks. "Are you?" Dylan whispers in my ear. This boy is driving me crazy. I nod, and then we take the photo. "Thank you, hun. See you later at the Q&A!" He smiles at me, and I smile back. I’m not able to talk.

I wait a couple of minutes for my sister, and when I see her, she’s shocked just like me. "He is hot, isn't he?" I ask, chuckling. "HELL YEAH!" She answers, screaming. We both laugh, and she pulls me in for a hug. Since we’re one of the last people at the M&G, the Q&A starts right after. The room is big enough for 100 people.

When Dylan walks in, we all start screaming and on his face appears a big smile. Damn, his smile is brighter than my future. I can clearly see that he is looking for someone, and when he looks at me, his smile becomes even more extensive.

The questions are over pretty soon, so he waves at us and says: "Thank you so much, guys and see you later. I hope that you will enjoy the show!" and he looks at me one more time while he walks out.

Allison and I have front-row seats, and I couldn't be happier. Around 21.40, the stage lights up, and his opening song starts playing. That means only one thing: the concert is about to begin. Suddenly Dylan appears and screams: "HI TORONTO, HOW ARE YOU FEELING?" while we reply with confusing noises. When he starts singing my favorite song, my jaw literally drops. Listening to it live is a dream, and it gives me chills. While Dylan sings Bad Reputation, we make eye contact, and right after, he stares at me for a while. I’m not entirely sure that he’s looking at me since there are a lot of people. Maybe he is looking at the girl behind or in front of me; who knows.

And then, the song that always makes me cry, one of his most special songs: Never be alone. When he starts singing it, everyone turns on the flash of their phone. It’s magical. I begin to cry non-stop, and my sister starts tearing up too. We grab each other's hand, and tears of joy keep running down our faces. The concert was fantastic. My dream had come true! I met my idol, and I couldn't be prouder of him because HE DID IT. I will never stop loving or supporting him. He deserves all the happiness of this world and even more.

When we are about to get out of the stadium, someone grabs my arm. Oh, shoot. It's Freddie, Dylan's bodyguard. "Dylan told me that you have to go backstage; he has a gift for you." Wait. Me? Am I dreaming, or did I hear that correctly?

Allison looks at me confused; I don’t know what to say. I ask politely: "Ehm, are you sure that Dylan wants to see me backstage?" "Yeah, that’s what he told me. Let me help you reach the backstage." "Ehm, alright. Allison, I will be right back." She says nothing, and Freddie takes me to the changing rooms, precisely in front of Dylan's changing room. I thank him, and he leaves.

I knock, and right after, I see him in front of me. "Hey. Come in!" I’m red as a tomato. "Ehm...don't ask me why, but I wanted to give you this. I had to choose a fan, and you’re the first one that came to my mind" I don’t know if I have to feel unique or stupid at that moment. Why did he think about me between all the fans? Maybe I did something stupid during the m&g or the Q&A, and he thought about me for doing it. He gives me one of the hoodies from his merchandise. "God, it looks so comfy... I love it! Thank you so much, Dylan; I can't believe it. Seriously, this is the best day of my life!" He smiles, and I almost faint.

I greet and thank him one more time. "Wait!" He pulls me back to him. "What? Did I do something wrong?" I ask nervously. "No, honey. I just want to know...What is your name?" My eyes widen. Does he want to know my name? "Ehm...My name is Olivia." I answer shyly. "What a beautiful name, I love it!" "Thanks, Dylan." "Olivia, am I going to see you again?" I stop breathing for a second. "We'll see."
