I am on the floor, sore. I try to get up, but I can't move my body. And then, suddenly, everything becomes black.
I open my eyes, and I feel pain everywhere. I am still on the ground, but the car that invested me disappeared. I don't know how long I have been unconscious, but I still can remember everything that happened. I try to look up for my phone, but when I find it, I notice that I can't reach it, it's too far away from me, and I can't move. I need help, so I try to scream. "SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE! HELP!!".
I cry until someone sees me and immediately reaches me. "Hey, I am here to help you. What happened?" He has brown hair and green eyes. "I just-I was run over. I can't move." I try to explain. "I am gonna call the ambulance right now, everything is going to be okay." He dials the emergency phone number, and after two minutes, he ends the call. "They're coming." He tells me, and we wait for a while.
"Here!" The boy waves at the ambulance so they can understand where we are. They stop in front of us, and they immediately put me on a stretcher. When they are about to close the doors of the ambulance, the guy asks: "Can I come too?" One of the two doctors nods, and he gets in, sitting in front of me. "How bad is the situation?" I ask the doctor. "Unfortunately I think that your left leg is broken, we will check it better at the hospital."
After 20 minutes, we reach the hospital, and they put me in a room. "Why did you come too? It wasn't necessary..." I tell the boy that takes a seat next to my bed. "I didn't want to leave you alone, I didn't want to seem rude. Also, I guess that this is yours." And he hands me my phone, surprisingly not damaged at all. "Oh my God, thank you so much!" I say, and I give him a slight smile.
I call Dylan without any hesitation. He picks up after it rings twice. "Babe...I am at the hospital." "Wait, what? What happened? Are you okay? In which hospital are you right now?" He asks, worried. "I am at the Toronto Western Hospital. Somebody run me over after leaving the café." "I am on my way. I love you, Liv." "I love you too." and I end the call.
"Was that your boyfriend?" The guy asks, and I nod. There is an awkward silence between us until the doctor appears and checks me out. "As we thought, your left leg is broken. You will need to stay here for a couple of days, maybe weeks, to solve this. You will need to do a lot of physiotherapies, otherwise we will have to operate your leg. Your head is okay, you will only need a couple of stitches." "If you need something, just press this button right here." The doctor adds and then leaves.
Dylan enters the room, breathless. He immediately takes a seat next to me and grabs my hands in his, kissing me on my forehead. "How are you? I tried to come as soon as I could." "My left leg is broken, I will have to stay here for weeks." I start to tear up. "Mmh...Maybe I should leave you two alone." The guy interrupts us. I forgot about him, and when Dylan notices him, he gives me a 'who is this guy?' look. "Maybe yes, it'd be better. Thank you for everything..." I stutter. "Tom, my name is Tom." He smiles. "Thank you so much Tom, you saved me. I am Olivia by the way." He doesn't say anything but looks at Dylan, and then he leaves the room.
I explain to Dylan how he found and helped me. He nods, without knowing what to say. "Hun, even if you will have to stay here for weeks, I will never leave you. You will never be alone." and he gives me a little kiss on my lips.
Suddenly, my head starts to spin badly, and Dylan notices that I am bleeding. "Liv, your head...what is happening?" He starts to worry again. I am confused. "I don't know, it's spinning so bad." I touch my head, and he’s right. I am bleeding. The doctor said that I would only need some stitches, but why did the situation get worse? Dylan is trying to tell me something, but I can't understand him. I am slowly closing my eyes; it’s like I can't control anything. "Liv, can you hear me? Stay with me, please!" It's the last thing that I can hear, and then, nothing.
