Chapter 5

Alex's POV

After the weekend with Aria, it was now work time again. Ugh! Sometimes I get so immersed in weekends that I wish they never end, don't get me wrong, I seriously love my work but I have never been a sports person, still taking care of so many pets is a lot of vigorous exercise.

I was ready for work and I was quite early so I contacted Doctor Lee and he said that I can come in early there will be some staff members there anyway so I can get inside.

I went down and saw boom and windy were sleeping as for Azusa you know his favorite activity by now. I silently reached the kitchen and made myself something to eat and took out my housemates food and put it in front of them. Taking the keys I locked the door, went to my car and drove off.

It was quite cold outside, " well guess what, winters are approaching " I said to no one in particular and stopped the car when the destination was reached. I went in and saw Mr. Miller going out with some gardening material.

" Good morning Mr. Miller, it is quite chilly outside I think you must grab you jacket." I said greeting him.

" Good morning to you too child, I think you are right, it's already winters here, eh" he said smiling heartily, " you are early today?"

" Yes, I got up early, so I decided to be first but you beat me I see" I said joking with him.

" Hahaha! Nevermind next time maybe" he laughed along, " but you are early from all the workers I guess, no one is here yet. I will see around then"

" Alright, good day " I said waving at him and made my way inside.

As I reached my room and settled down. I decided to go visit Regan, " hmm he could be sleeping too " but I shrugged it off and made my way to his ward.

As I reached his room there were some sound coming from the storage room near his room, " who could that be " I decided to check up maybe it could be the other staff who have arrived already by now or Regan, so first check his room then store.

When I opened his room, I was greeted with nothing, no figure on bed sleeping or standing by the window looking out with longing eyes, " maybe it was him in the storage after all." I then walked towards the storage, but a sudden shrill noise of someone in pain took me by surprise.

I fastened my steps towards the storage and stopped before entering, I heard sounds of stick meeting someone's skin and low groans of pain.

I quickly opened the door and saw a heart breaking scene inside, it was the nurse I complained about with a stick in her hand, a guy who was kicking someone and lastly that someone who was lying on the ground curled up in a ball.

" What the hell is going on here?" I shouted at the top of my lungs and made my way towards Regan who was still not looking up all bruised up. I turned to the culprits, " who gave you the right to hit him? "

By now they both were very much tensed, many of the staffs have reached the entrance of the storage and as well Doctor Lee. He made his way towards Regan and said, " hey kiddo, what happened? " While Regan just turned to me and put his head on my shoulder and arms around my back, I can hear him sobbing.

" Sir they were beating him up " I said firmly to Doctor Lee. He then took care of everything else, contacting police and all, while Regan calmed down a bit but was still not leaving me so I stayed with him till he let go.

I took him to his room and sat him down on his bed, he again put his arms around me this time though I am standing in front of him and he is hugging my waist. I moved my fingers through his hairs while patting along, while he snuggled to me so tightly as of his life depended on it.

After a certain time he let go of me and looked into my eyes, " I ....I am ready.." he said struggling with his voice which sounded a bit hoarse due to all the drama from before, but still left me in shock as this is the first time I heard him speak.

" Ready for what Regan?" I spoke coming out of my trance.

" To go with you." He said more clearly this time and believe me his voice sounds so deep that I might sleep hearing his speak.

" Alright I am excited for my new housemate!" I said in full zeal.
