Chapter 10

Rowana was busy having the time of her life, cackling like a deranged hyena. I wanted to slap her stupid stupid face.

"Why did you let me do that to you?" I heard Orion ask.

"What do you mean?"

"You let me touch you. Why would you let me do that if you don't remember?"

My cheeks heated as I recalled what we did in the lake. Ugh they're making me feel one thing right after another.

"I wanted it too" I said. Shit now I have to talk about how I feel. Right in front of his stupid ex whom is still wish to slap or better yet, strangle.

Oh Alexa, such violent thoughts.

"You wanted it? You mean, you just used me to satisfy your own sexual needs?"

Wait what?

"What are you saying?"

Shit. He looked mad. Ah fuck. It then dawned on me what he meant.

"Shit no Orion. I-I really really like you" I blurted. Heat creeped up my neck to the tips of my ears. My heart was beating fast and I could feel sweat trickling down my forehead.

"Awww, this is so cute!" Rowana cooed wearing a fake smile.

"Shut up!" Orion snapped then faced me. His green eyes twinkling. "You like me?"

"Yes" I mumbled. "Even though I don't understand what's going on and I have no idea what I'm supposed to remember, I still like you. A lot". My voice was barely above a whisper and I felt so shy.

"You know, if we weren't Vampires, we probably would not have heard a word you said but that was a really cute confession" Rowana snickered. "And you're so lucky Orion. The girl has feelings for you without even realizing who she really is. Aren't you two supposed to remember at the same time? At least you said that's what happens every time you meet".

"I don't know why she can't remember but the fact she has feelings for me is enough" he said, smiling widely. I however felt like disappearing. I just publicly confessed my feelings for the very first time in my life! And that idiot made fun of me! If I get the chance, I must smack her.

"Oh well, let's go people. We have to make it to the nest by sun down. Today's the last day!" Rowana announced and with that, we set off.

Last day?

By the time we made it to the huge castle they called 'the nest', my legs felt like jelly and I was drenched in sweat. My arms and shoulders were sore since they were still tied and I was really hungry. The last thing I remember eating was that pheasant and berry sauce Maeve made which I vomited.

At one point, one of the vampires had to carry me on his back because I was slowing them down. Well, I'm just human. They however, found the walk to the nest very short and were still in good shape. Even Orion. I get that this world is different and all but can't they keep horses or maybe buy a car or two for humans that decide to visit once in a while? I mean, not everyone has the speed of lighting.

I couldn't tell what the time was but seeing as the sun was still high and super-hot, I could guess that it's midafternoon.

We were greeted by the putrid stench of blood and dirt immediately we stepped into the castle and I scrunched my nose in disgust.

"They sure live in a dump" I muttered to myself as I took in the entire place. It was huge but dim. All the curtains were pulled close, effectively cutting off sunlight. The room we were in was long, like a hallway but wider and bigger. There was a single chair at the far end of the room with a figure sitting on it.

My blood ran cold. Is that the Edax? The thing that wants me? I squinted my eyes to see better. No. He looks familiar.

The figure began to clap and laugh. "Well done Rowana. I never had a doubt that you'll get them".

Oh God. I'll recognize that annoying voice anywhere. Lucian. Wow. Who would have thought that they're working together.

Rowana shrugged, smiling. "It was pretty easy".

I scoffed. "You just got lucky. If you didn't catch us in that situation, I'm sure you'll be dead by now".

No way will I let her get credit for that.

"I hate you" she said.

"Likewise Rowana" I retorted. "If my arms weren't tied, I'd give you the middle finger".

"Okay no fighting people" Lucian said as he got up the chair and walked towards us. His pale blue eyes landed on me and he smirked. "Why do you look even prettier than when I saw you last?"

"Why do you look even uglier?" I sneered. He shouldn't try to flirt with me. No matter how good looking he is with his fiery red sleek hair, I don't care. Orion's the one for me.

He chuckled. "I really like you Alexandra. Maybe when the Edax are done with you and you're still alive, I'll keep you for myself".

"I'll crush you with my bare hands before you get the chance Lucian" Orion said, glaring at him.

"Oh you'll be dead by that time" he replied with a wave of his hand. "Don't worry. I'll take good care of her for you". He grabbed my chin and ran his long index finger over my cheek.

His nail was long, black and sharp so I didn't move. I didn't want to get cut. Besides, his grip on my chin was so strong.

I could see Orion being held down by a couple of Vampires.

"If you hurt her Lucian, I'll rip you to shreds!" he yelled.

Suddenly, he pressed his lips to mine. Fuck. I tried to wiggle out of his grip but he was too strong. I shut my lips tight but he licked my lower lip, forcefully sucking it into his mouth.

"Lucian!" Orion growled. I could see him struggling to get to me.

I felt his other hand slip down my abdomen and stroke me down there then pinched my clit. I tried not to show how hurt I was but he pinched harder and I cried out from the pain. He quickly slipped his tongue into my mouth. Fuck it's nothing like the kiss from Orion. He felt all slimy and disgusting.

He broke the kiss then turned to Orion with a cocky smirk. "You were saying?"

With an almost animalistic growl, Orion's eyes turned black and in a flash, he was right in front of Lucian. He threw his head back then head-butted the fucker who flew into the nearest wall.

Suddenly Rowana appeared from nowhere and drove a stake right through Orion's heart. My eyes widened in shock as I watched blood spurt out from the wound and his mouth. His body fell to the floor like it was in slow motion.

"W-What did you just do!" I yelled. "How could you, you piece of shit!".

Hot tears pooled in my eyes and began to run down my cheeks like a waterfall. I sunk to my knees beside him.

"Orion" I called. His eyes were open but they weren't moving. It's like they were frozen in place. Blood was spilling out of his mouth and the wound, forming a small pool around us. At this rate, he'll die. That's if he isn't yet.

"Orion baby, can you hear me? Please look at me. You won't die. Not now, not ever okay. Please look at me. Wake up okay baby. Wake up".

I could hear the Vampires around us laughing. My arms were still tied so there was little I could do. No no no. You can't die! Vampires are immortal right? He can't just die.

"Orion please wake up. Remember you promised to protect me. You said you won't let anything happen to me so you gotta wake up" I sobbed. "You gotta fulfil your promise. You told me you love me. There's a ton of shit I don't remember but I don't care. I still want to be with you either way so don't leave me. Please"

"That's useless honey. He can't hear you" Rowana snickered. The bitch!

"Bring him back you bitch! How could you do this!" I know I looked and sounded pathetic crying like that but I didn't care. "I will fucking end you for this!"
