Colonel Yarets was gloomier than a cloud: he had been here for the second day and the authorities officially assigned him this section with the gates, and these scientists, with their ridiculous requests and demands, finally pissed him off. Now under his command there were already 2 battalions, additional ones were sent to him, after yesterday's riots. The whole country was on its ears, but he could not even go home and had to guard this damn gate, which already has a guard in the form of a huge gatekeeper.
And how his bosses got mad when they found out that the only person who was in the dungeon had escaped from him! He had not heard such an angry and obscene tirade for a long time, but Alexander was not angry with the runaway guy, in his place he would also hit the road as quickly as possible in order to avoid problems.
The colonel was sipping a cigarette, sitting on the armored personnel carrier's armor with several officers under his command, when a hustle and bustle began ahead. A couple of seconds after that, an agitated soldier ran up to him and, not observing any rules for addressing a senior in rank, said: - There, someone again came out of the gate! After that, Alexander, putting out his cigarette, together with his subordinates hurried to the gate. The guys came out of the gate and the sunlight hit them in the eyes. Although there was lighting in the dungeon, it was very dim and could not be compared with the real rays of the sun. The gatekeeper was the first to pay attention to those who appeared: - And we began to see each other quite often, - said the guard looking at the newly appeared Elim and Jan. After his words, the guys were noticed by the closest scientists, among whom a commotion immediately began, which went further along the camp.
We will see each other often in the future, so just call me Elim, and this, - Elim pointed to his friend, - Jan.
Elim was very kind to the gatekeeper. In his past, if there were no gatekeepers, humanity would have been destroyed much earlier. They were more like the title not of gatekeepers, but of guards, and not of some kind of gates, but of their world, for which Elim respected them, although they were not living beings, but machines created by angels.
"I really hope so," replied Reuben, after which he stopped paying attention to them and returned to his usual state again.
After a brief greeting from the gatekeeper, the guys moved towards the makeshift military camp that surrounded the gate. When they approached the border, the territory outlined by Reuben, the colonel, whom Elim had met earlier, was already waiting for them. Elim smiled at the surprised face of the Colonel when he recognized him.
"Hello," Elim greeted, going up to the colonel, next to whom stood an elderly man with glasses, who looked him from head to toe.
Alexander was not angry with Elim until the moment when he saw his smiling face, now he was ready to grab his throat right at that very second. He thought that Elim was an ordinary fool who just stupidly got into the dungeon, but when he saw him the second time, when he left the dungeon, it immediately became clear that the guy was just pretending to be a fool.
Suppressing a fit of anger, Alexander replied:
- I haven't seen the boy for a long time, I see this time you grabbed a friend and everything went not as well as last, - Alexander immediately noticed the bloody bandages on the guy's body and the tattered appearance of both guys.
"Yes, we met a couple of problems, you don't have a doctor here, we would really like to meet with him," answered smiling Elim, who spoke as if he and Alexander were friends, and the situation itself was completely ordinary.
Alexander chuckled, seeing Elim's insolence, and replied in the same manner:
- As last time?
"No, this time we'll talk, don't worry," Elim answered cheerfully.
Ian, who was standing next to him, with a smile from ear to ear, watched as Elim kicked out all the soldiers standing next to the colonel, as well as himself with his manner of speaking. Alexander silently pointed to the two soldiers, Elim nodded and followed them with Jan.
"You must detain them here, when the doctor looks at them, you need to carry out a couple of tests and analyzes, and then send them for examination to our laboratory," the old man said quietly next to the colonel, when the guys moved a few meters away.
This man's name was Pyotr Krivinchenko and he was the head of the scientific group in the camp, he was eager to find out how the "Reborn" differ from ordinary people. Alexander already winced at his words: there was no living place on Elim, and this old man was thinking about how to start exploring it. He looked at the old man with contempt, but he did not react to it - plans for future research were already being born in his head.
"Repeat," came a loud voice, which interrupted the old man's thoughts.
He turned to the source of the sound and saw Elim staring at him.
- I'm sorry, what?
"I said repeat what you just said," Elim said equally loudly.
Now on his face there was not even a shadow of a smile and he walked back to the professor.
"You probably thought you'd better go to the doctor, your wounds are pretty serious," the old man said, and again returned to his thoughts about future research, remaining absolutely calm.
Alexander, meanwhile, sensed a change in the guy's mood, but so far he has not done anything, he will not interfere.
- Do you think you wanted to carry out some analyzes, and then send us to the laboratory? Elim quipped.
Peter realized that he was heard, but did not react in any way to the guy's change of mood and answered:
- Yes, you need to conduct research on your bodies and find out how you differ from ordinary people, so hurry up to the doctor, young man.
Peter began to get annoyed by this guy, and Alexander, meanwhile, tensed, imagining what could happen next.
- So you want to make laboratory rats out of me and my friend? Elim replied calmly.
- If I say yes, will you feel better? Let Alexander already go to the doctor - Peter already believed that Elim was already his material for research.
Alexander muttered to himself this doctor, who behaved as if the whole world owed him and did not see what the person was in front of him at close range. The colonel himself has already realized that Elim is far from an ordinary guy, considering that he has already been in the dungeon twice when he should not be there. But the flow of his thoughts was interrupted by the sudden actions of Elim, he quickly hit the old man right in the head and then grabbed him by the throat.
"I have one test," Elim growled, "come on, see how quickly your neck breaks if I use mana.
