Chapter 11

…Laura entered the hotel she was to meet with Chris and one of the attendant met with her then lead her inside, she waited for a few minutes before Chris showed up lead in by the same attendant and sat opposite her

"i thought you will come together with your fiance or might want to settle things with him before you meet with me but I guess not" he stated

"am sure you are not curious about that" she restored

"you are wrong, am actually curious to know" he replied crossing his legs. Laura stared giving him the angry look, she had a huge fight with Avan again when he came to meet her earlier in the day and was so furious already

"can we go straight to the reason why we are here?" she said changing the topic and bought a document out of her bag then placed it on the table in front of them and push it to him

"are you trying to sign a contract marriage with me? Shouldn't that be my role?" Chris asked not touching the documents

"no am not, I know am not fault for whatever happened and am so sorry. You already mentioned for us to get married so I think this Shouldn't be an issue right? We can try to make things work and get a win-win situation"

Chris pick up the papers and go through it, he read it for some minutes before dropping it back on the table

"you want us to get married till the end of the project?" he asked and Laura nodded her head yes then he continued

"and you want us to live together for that period then you want…" he stopped annoyed then turn to her sharply

"you rejected my offer to get married and then suddenly get me into a forced marriage with you and now you want me to remain in that marriage and live together?" Laura was taken aback by his reaction and move a bit closer to him

"i will take full responsibility for you, I know you are a very kind person and a responsible man so I believe we can work thing out, is not like we can go to the marriage registrar office for a divorce just a day after" she said trying to convince him

"i will get a divorce" he simply said and move away from her. She stare at him with puppy eyes trying to act like a pet that needs its owners care and understanding and Chris eventually fell for it

"i will be the one to determine what happens and I get to make all the rules and determine the end of the marriage" Laura nod her head readily

"we will live in my house and not yours and everything in this papers are not applicable in this marriage and also there is only one rule. You can do as you please during the period of the marriage contract" he stopped and waited to hear her comment

"if you have no objection I will have my secretary send you a copy of the contract so you can sign it" then he stood up to leave but Laura blocked his way and Chris frown at her

"the thing is, if we are going to live together then we should be friends at least and know one or two things about each other" she said smiling childishly, a behaviour Chris always find cute in the past

"friends in your dreams" he replied and left. Laura scoffed at his back and sat down to drink some water. After Avan called her yesterday, he arrived at her place few minutes after and there discussion soon turn into shouting and insults then he said the word he has never told her in their relationship, breaking up.

Laura was very upset at how unreasonable he was and agreed to without thinking twice then she took her phone in his presence and text Chris the place and time to meet and walk Avan out of her house.

Although she feels guilty that she placed her company above their relationship and got married to another guy because of it without knowing the truth about him but she also has her reputation to protect. She sat down to finish her food as she thought of how to live peacefully with Chris for a period of five month.

Avan returned back home angrily as he recall what happened on the day he's supposed to marry Laura. He wonder who on earth has the audacity to poison his drink. He removed his clothes after getting to his room and tried to put on something simple when his father banged in, he charged forward towards him and hit him hard on his head

"you bastard!" he yelled angrily while Avan staggered in pain

"just to handle a little girl is so hard for you to do, after all this years of being her fiance you cant manage to get her wedded to you" he screamed at him in anger

"dad..dad" he stammered not knowing what to say

"you allowed someone out of nowhere to reap all I've been labouring for you fool, how can I trust you with the company if you…"

"They are two different things dad!" Avan yelled not allowing him to finish his words

"what?"

"you promised to hand over the company to me once I seal the deal months back, are you trying to go back on your word now?"

"if you wanted the company then you should have done better at your assignment"

"she is not a thing. She is human. If you have a problem with her mother then resolve it yourself why do you have to…" his words was cut short by a slap from his father

"don't dream of getting anything from me you idiot" he said and walk out. Avan screamed in anger and throw the vase near him to the wall

"am going to kill them both" he said with hatred in his eyes.

He left the room and head to Clara's house to relieve himself, he feels like exploding right now and needed some comfort. He arrived there in about thirty minutes and entered the pin then entered

Clara walked out from the bedroom talking to someone on the phone and was shocked to see Avan in the sitting room. She quickly end the call and put on a smile as she walk over to him

"you didn't tell me you were coming over, I thought you wanted to meet with Laura" she said cheerily and throw her phone on one of the chairs.

Avan close up the gap between them and held her closely then kissed her hurriedly, he kissed her hungrily and with anger trying to swallow her whole and at the same time trying to remove her clothes. Clara was taken aback by the kiss and feeling uncomfortable, he tried to push him away but he wouldn't stop and continue to bite her neck.

Clara screamed out in pain and that bought him to his senses as he stopped and pull away from her

"have you gone crazy?" she shouted at him and held her neck

"Am sorry sweetheart, its a.." he tried to explain and calm down at the same time as he start to tear up.

Clara noticed the tears in his eyes and her face soften instantly, she draw him closer and use her hand to wipe it off his eyes then start to nibble on his lips slowly. Avan responded and reciprocate the kiss, they continue to have a wet kiss and soon their clothes was off and they made their way to the room.

The both of them fell on the bed and continued exploring each other's body, he took the bed sheet and used it to cover their body…

Avan rest his head on Clara's bosom, Clara tried to look around the room for her phone and remembered she had left it in the living room earlier. She sighed as she remember what she did to stop him from getting married to Laura.

After getting to know about the news of their wedding and even after Avan assuring her that he wont abandon her she still feel insecure about the whole thing.

When they were still engaged she could bear with but allowing them to get married is something she cant take.

She has invested a lot in their relationship to just let go. What if after getting married to her he decide to break thing off with her? She had to find a solution and that was to make sure Laura get married to someone apart from him

She had everything planned out already and also arranged a man from one of their biggest partner to appear at the scene and get married to her but Chris suddenly showed up and took the role. She was shocked to see that she actually got married to him after knowing him for just a few days. She was actually relieved but not comfortable with the person she got married to and hope Avan never find out about this until she is able to become his wife legally
