I ran through the debris, trying to reach Midoriya and Eri at the same time. I deflected the pieces from Eri with earth, but didn't reach Midoriya fast enough, to block a huge rock that ended up crushing my shoulder as I covered him.
"EL!" He shouted.
I hissed at the explosive new pain in my arm. It felt like I was being scratched at from the inside. I ignored the pain and breathed deeply.
Pain is a message, you can ignore the message.
I saw as the girls were recovering from their fall and quickly aided Nighteye. Overhaul had stolen Eri and Midoriya was right after him. He leapt through the air with my assisting his movements.
As I went ahead of him when I caught sight of the girl, he had me throw him when she jumped. I shot right after I threw him and joined his side as he caught the girl.
I caught them both in my arms, knowing I couldn't fly all three of us separately and created a huge vortex of wind that kept us in the air. I was trying to fly us down when Overhaul recovered from Eri's escape. I looked up in surprise to see he was back to normal.
Midoriya noticed my observation and maneuvered us in the air. I let him and Eri go when Overhaul shot huge rope-like earth pieces that I was able to deflect easily when they came at me, but Midoriya was having a hard time dodging in midair.
Suddenly, as a look of strong determination crossed his face, the blue light around him intensified and he got strong, being able to dodge the attacks and destroy them at the same time.
He grabbed my hand and delivered a kick to a huge attack that blasted us into the air and out to the surface.
I gasped as I flew in the air for the first time without losing my quirk. Midoriya's shocked face told me he didn't know what happened either. He was deep in concentration as we were flying through the air, high above the Shie Hassaikai.
From up here, you could really see the damage that had been done. There was a huge hole in the middle of the street that lead down into the Shie Hassaikai's tunnels. I still felt Midoriya's hand grip in mine as we stopped elevating.
He looked down at his body and I noticed his injuries were gone.
"What the?" I said wonderingly.
He looked at me and back at Eri. We quickly started descending and he looked at me again. I took a deep breath and slowled the air we were passing, softening our fall and gently landing us on the ground.
Midoriya was breathing hard. He set Eri down and crouched in front of her.
"Is this your quirk? Are you a healer?" He asked confused. Eri's horn was glowing, letting off a gold glow as some of the light was transfering to Midoriya.
Suddenly, Midoriya doubled over, clutching his body.
"Midoriya!" I shouted, grabbing his shoulders. He was straining hard, his muscles bulging, combating with whatever was going on with his body.
Was it Eri? I looked to see her back away from us a few steps.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey." I said quickly. I caught her attention. "It's okay, he's okay. Come here." I said holding my arms out. She seemed hesitant, her eyes flitting between me and Midoriya.
"What is this?" I turned quickly at Midoriya's strained voice.
"It's Eri's quirk. She doesn't know how to turn it off. She'll rip you apart till there's nothing left." Overhaul's voice said. But what came out of the hole was not Overhaul.
It was a huge beast that had been melded together with Overhaul. He was attached to where the head would be, everything below his torso was missing.
He sent a trail of spikes at Eri and Midoriya jumped to catch her, pulling her out of the way.
"That's her curse." Overhaul snarled. "She can rewind people back before they were even born!"
"So that it. I broke my leg with that kick, but you rewound it back to before it was broken, along with my old injuries as well." He took the cape she was holding, that I recognized as Lemillions, and tied her to his back. "It seems to me like you grift is a blessing Eri."
I saw tears fall down the little girl's cheeks at his words. I smiled at her and sighed.
"Oh Deku." I said grabbing his attention. "Always gotta be the badass. Cmon, let me in on the action every once in a while."
He grinned playfully and we both braced ourselves.
"Don't you see? Eri represents change!!!!" Overhaul roared, using his multiple limbed body to charge at us. He could apparently use his quirk too because the ground cracked underneath us, making spikes.
Eri's power must have made Midoriya stronger, because he shot underneath Overhaul with speed I've never seen before.
I hadn't moved until the spikes had almost got me but I flew up into the air and took the spikes Overhaul was making, and turned them right back at him.
Fighting Overhaul for the control over the ground was exhausting and I was partially still worn out from flying everyone in the tunnels of the Shie Hassaikai.
Midoriya grabbed my waist, an arm looped around me, and delivered a kick that sent Overhaul flying into the air.
We were drawn up into the air by the draft winds that followed Overhaul's monstrous body.
Midoriya held onto me tightly as we spun in the air before he was able to set out a small kick to level us.
"You okay?" I heard his breathless voice panting in my ear. His grip tightened and I turned to look at Eri. She didn't seem scared of what was going on, but she seemed terrified of everything going on around her.
"We're okay." I wrapped my legs around his wait as the harsh winds roamed around us.
I have a hard time controlling the elements when they want to fight back. But naturally, not like Shoto and Overhaul.
We turned to see that Overhaul had regained his composure and was attacking.
Midoriya landed kick after kick and blow after blow, breaking overhaul apart, only to have him rebuild himself, healing himself and getting new kinds of strength tactics.
"When he's putting himself back together." I said in his ear. "He stops to put himself back, attack then. The air isn't very effective and the debris from any ice I use could land below. My fire would be swayed by the wind. Get him down there and I'll help you then."
He looked at me and nodded. I grinned at Eri as I let go and fell, falling fast down to the earth. I looked down as I fell to see Tamaki with Mirio, Uraraka with Nighteye, and Asui with Aizawa. I felt happiness flow through me at the sight of Mirio and Aizawa. But fear for Nighteye as all their eyes set on me as I approached.
I didn't realize how fast I was falling until I slammed into the earth.
I landed on my legs hard, possibly fracturing them, but letting rage replace pain and focused on Midoriya's mid air battle.
"(Y/N)!" I hear someone shout. I looked at Uraraka who was helping Nighteye sit up.
"Not right now!" I shouted, turning my attention back to the sky in time to see Overhaul beastly body fall out of the sky.
I braced myself, keeping my eyes locked on Overhauls body as he plummeted. As soon as I felt his body make even the slightest bit of contact with my hand, I shoved as hard as I could with the earth right behind me. I softened his fall and kept the harsh winds to a minimum, still blasting dust and rocks around.
I was stuck underneath his body until I heard Midoriya's voice.
"(Y/N)?!?!" He shouted.
I slipped out from underneath the body when Midoriya gripped my hand, pulling me. I sighed when I was out and smiled at him.
We turned to the huge body, making sure it wasn't moving. I turned to see Midoriya glow brighter.
"Mido . . .?" I said looking at him.
He suddenly gasped out in pain, lurching to his knees.
"MIDORIYA!" I shouted touching his shoulder.
He shoved me away and grapsed himself.
"You'll get hurt." He choked out.
I still tried to approach him but they glowed even brighter, Eri's power was getting stronger.
"ERI!" I shouted.
Overhaul had somehow regained consciousness and was reaching for Midoriya and Eri. I tried to ice him but I was beat to it by Eri's power. Her light shone and rewound Overhaul to his normal self.
Uraraka had jumped into the air and grabbed him.
"Gunhead Martial Arts!" She said pinning him down.
I had to hold in a snort at her feeble attempt to take down a villain that was already defeated but let it go.
Aizawa was looking at Midoriya and Eri, and activated his quirk. Cancelling out theirs.
I quickly ran over to them and pulled them up. They were both breathing hard from the attempt of battling their quirks.
I hugged them both, glad they were alive. I looked at the others to see ambulances arriving and everyone gathering.
Midoriya handed Eri over to some medics and returned to my side. A stretcher was passing us, with Nighteye's impaled body lying on it.
"Nighteye!" Midoriya called, stopping the medics.
"They need to get him to the hospital Mido." I said, grabbing his arm.
"Midoriya, (Y/N)," Nighteye breathed.
We both turned our rapt attention to him.
"You two messed with time. You changed the future, you did the impossible." He said breathing hard.
"All Might said he wants to see you again. I know he does. So you have to get better!" Midoriya cried.
"Mido." I said as the medics pushed him gently away.
"We need to go." The man said.
They loaded Nighteye into the ambulance and left.
"You know, there are a lot of injured people, so this is no time to celebrate but," Ryukyu smiled at him. "Good job you two." She said looking at us.
I smiled tiredly at Midoriya. My legs felt shattered and my arms felt like they were about to fall off. I was already slouching, my eyelids getting heavy.
"I guess this is one part of my quirk that hasn't happened in a long time." I said leaning on a nearby debris rock.
"What? Something about your quirk? Does it upgrade? Or require a certain healing process after you overuse it? Does it affect your quirk usage in the future? Are you okay?" Midoriya rambled on as I chuckled.
"Yes Mido. I require large amounts of sleep after using my quirk like that. I should have stopped after I made you all fly in the tunnels, I actually-"
I was interrupted by a few medics asking if we were okay, noticing my unsteady state. I stated I was fine, just tired and they nodded, moving on to other patients.
"You actually what?" Midoriya asked.
I shook my head.
"I doesn't matter. All that matters is that everyone is okay." I felt my smile drop. "But if what Chisaki said was really true, then Mirio's quirk is gone."
I looked at the departing ambulances.
"And Nighteye is in danger."
