Ms. Safe guarded

Winter

I woke up the next morning like I usually do. Surrounded by my dogs in a cocoon of warmth and no room. Only this morning was slightly different.

Last night before I went to bed I felt eyes on me, like I was being watched, only it didn't bother me or make me feel threatened.

It was the quite opposite actually, I felt warm and safe and right now I feel that again.

Wiggling out from under my dogs I stumble toward the window and look out. At first I see nothing, but on the edge of my property I see the biggest, blackest wolf I've ever seen in my life.

I have no idea why but my heart begins to beat faster and it wasn't with fear either. I was excited to see it, and it wasn't only because it's the first wolf I've seen for years but because he made me feel safe, and excited just from sitting there and staring at me.

Blushing at my ridiculousness I turn away from the window and begin my morning routine for the one place I never want to go to.

School.

Taking a quick shower I get out and braid my hair into a quick braid just until it dries (mostly because I like the wave it produces.) Looking at the sad state of my wardrobe I pick out some sweats and a tank top to shove on then grab some flip flops.

Walking down the stairs I skip down the last three steps and turn the corner to the kitchen where I'm immediately surprised. Sitting at the counter eating the food Roger made for me is the one and only Echo.

Grabbing the doorway so I don't fall over I stare at the sexy piece of male in front of me and continue to wonder where he's been all my life. Making sure I don't smell like ass or garbage I walk into the kitchen like an elephant to announce my arrival, just in case. Lifting myself up onto the stool next to him Roger places a plate full of food in front of me and gives me his signature "eat it all" look when I go to protest.

Grumbling softly and making weird faces to his back I start to slowly eat the food that was placed in front of me.

Breakfast went by quicker than I thought it was and oddly enough it's like Echo was there my whole life. Like it was normal for him to be in that setting eating with us.

Grabbing my bag from Roger I give him a hug and kiss before going to Echo's beast of a car and waiting for him while Roger and him talked. Shortly after he slides into the drivers seat next to me. I settle back into the seats comfortably as he pulls out of my driveway and heads toward one of the many places I would love to avoid at all costs.

...

"Winter"

"Hm? What?"

"I've been calling you for awhile now."

"Sorry sorry. I'm listening."

"I was wondering if you'd want to go somewhere with me today after school?"

"Where? If you haven't noticed there's literally nowhere to go around here."

He begins tugging at the neckline of his already tight shirt, making my focus go from his face down to his impeccable whole upper torso.

"I was.. uh... wonderingifyouwouldcomewithmetomyhouse."

"Whoa!.... Please slow down... and breath."

"I was wondering if you would like to come back to my place. I kinda told my mom about meeting a new friend and she wants to meet you."

Whoa!!! This is going way too fast I mean I'm not even cute or cute looking today and his mom wants to meet me. Oh my God!!! what if she hates me!! What if his dad hates me! What if they hear the rumors about me and tell him to stay away from me!!!

I was just starting to get used to having him around.

"Winter... You don't have to if you don't want to."

"NO! ... No, it's just is it all right with you. I don't wanna cause any problems."

"It's perfectly fine with me, in fact I would love it if you met my parents."

"Then I'd love to go and meet them."

We pulled up in my parking spot just in time for the bell to ring and I ran to class ahead of him while he locked the doors and did whatever he was doing behind me.

Whelp, I guess I'm meeting his parents today. I hope they don't hear the more horrible of the rumors until after they've met me.

But it would be my luck that they didn't.
