The other five combatants were left around the beacon site to monitor the area while protecting Zhang Qin Feng.

This trip from the beacon site to the settlement is about five kilometers away and another five kilometers more further south to the beach. But since there's no reason for them to make a detour, Zhang Tianci brought his team across the woods to cut their distance to merely seven and a half kilometers.

In the meantime, Zhang Qin Feng joined the research team to investigate the beacon site's origin and how the jamming function operated.
