Chapter 125 - Jay from the Past

Outside Past Konoha,

"Let him go," Sasuke held the sword in his hand, staring at the young man with pitch-black hair scarlet eyes, keeping Guren inside a sealing Jutsu.

"Come on, Sasuke. Not only doing something as stupid as traveling to the past of a parallel world, but also bringing someone like him here? What were you thinking?"

Sasuke widened his eyes in shock, "You recognize me?"

Jay tilted his head, "Well, something big must have happened to make you lose that hand of yours, and you seem to have grown really strong. Still, you are as stupid and careless as ever."

"Stupid-!"

"Careless-!"

Both Boruto and Mirai repeated a word, hearing someone talk to Sasuke like that for the first time.

"Hey! Who are you to talk to Teacher like that!"

Sasuke put his hand on Boruto's shoulder, "Jay Sensei...that's my son."

"Your son," Jay turned his eyes towards Guren, confused for a second before coming to a realization. He came to this world because he felt a strange connection forming with himself across time.

It was one of the greatest taboos of his long life. To have two of him, from different periods, in the same Universe, even in the parallel world. Once that connection was formed, it was like a domino effect, creating a vertical relationship throughout the past, present, and future. It was one thing that he hated the most since it squeezed out the little fun he had in life.

It was why he came running to seal himself before the connection between the past, and the present was fully formed. Luckily, there was a great reason to deflect, "Sasuke, he might be your son, but he seems to be holding something uncontrollable. Something like that changes things in the past, then the future can change drastically. I'll have to keep him sealed until you are ready to go back to your time."

"Oh," Sasuke looked towards Guren, letting out a sigh of relief, "Ok, Sensei."

"But Sasuke!" Boruto was about to shout, but Mirai covered his mouth, "Boruto, be quiet! Do you even know who that is?!"

"Hm," Jay changed the size of the seal, turning it into a pebble. He kept his future body in his pocket as he looked at Mirai, smiling, "You seem to be Kurenai's daughter."

Mirai stood in attention, bowing, "My name is Mirai Sarutobi! Lord Jay! I grew up hearing about you from Mom!"

Jay narrowed his eyes, scratching his cheek, "Sarutobi...with those eyes...geez."

"Sensei," Sasuke interrupted the talk, "What is going on? If I am not wrong, then you said we are in a parallel world?"

"Oh, right," Jay snapped his fingers, and they teleported, appearing inside The Ichiraku Ramen shop; their clothes had changed to fit this time.

"Don't worry, whatever we talk about, they would hear as if we are talking about normal stuff," Jay smiled, "Hungry?"

"Not really," Sasuke wasn't surprised. Still, Mirai watched him with adoration while Boruto tried to figure out what had just happened.

"To the point, huh," Jay ordered four Ramen for them, smiling, "So, something about our timeline changed, and it was like set in stone. Something must have happened in the future, and it was big enough to cover the whole timeline. And make it unchangeable, untravellable."

"Oh," Sasuke narrowed his eyes, thinking about the two worlds that merged, "I guess it's big enough."

"I don't want to know," Jay raised his hand, "So whatever that time-traveling device of yours tried to enter the past, it was deflected, and you fell in a parallel world. The biggest change that I can notice right away in this world is...I do not exist."

"You..." Sasuke was surprised, realizing, "You are the one that I know...?"

"Yeah," Jay smiled, "You know that I am not from around, so it makes sense that there is only one of me. But I felt that collision and came to see what was going on. Luckily, I made it on time of you would have created a mess."

"I see," Sasuke closed his eyes, smiling, "It's good seeing you, Sensei."

Jay patted Sasuke's head, "Kid, what was so big that you had to try going to past."

Sasuke slapped his hand away, "I am not a kid anymore. But...there is an enemy that came to past to take the nine tails."

"Hm, tell me," Jay curiously asked, hearing Sasuke's story, observing Boruto and Mirai. Especially Mirai, since he felt a familial connection with her.

He could tell that the seal on her was his handiwork, making him more curious about her. He ate the Ramen, watching them from the corner of his eyes, "I see, Otsutsuki. Sounds troublesome creature...then the woman in the moon is an Otsutsuki?"

"You know about her?"

"Of course I know," Jay smiled, "I have been mulling over for some time if I should interfere or not. Why do you think I trained you?"

Sasuke's face became dull hearing that, "Sensei...sorry..."

Jay glanced towards Sasuke, narrowing his eyes, "Is that why you haven't healed your arm. Or didn't you use your eye to remake one? Because I died, and you feel you failed me?"

Sasuke, Boruto, and Mirai nearly jumped in their skin; this was the last thing they were expecting to hear.

"You...what?" Boruto mainly was surprised since he didn't know why Sasuke didn't wear the arm that Guren created. But Mirai knew who he was, so she didn't think he would figure out he died.

"Sensei," Sasuke tightened his jaw, "I..."

Jay patted his head, smiling, "Don't worry about it. Death...is never the end for someone like me, and if I chose to die, it must be because that was the better option. Not so that you could carry the burden of that death on your shoulder, and that's why..."

He snapped his finger, and a natural arm appeared, making Sasuke stand up, seeing his arm as Boruto and Mirai gawked.

They turned their heads towards Jay, who grinned, "I am not asking you to forget and move on. I am telling you to remember and move on."

Sasuke let out a laugh, covering his face, "You are...as over bearing as ever."

"Of course I am," Jay stood up, waving his hand, "There is something that I have to check on. So be careful, Kid."

"I am not a kid anymore," Sasuke gently looked at his restored hand, softly smiling as Jay walked past him, waving his hand.
