Chapter 137 - Where?

"Is this the Village of the Rain," Karin Kurosaki stood on top of a tall tower, looking towards the village filled with numerous buildings as high as the ones in their world. But the sun was out, and its rays illuminated the busy village with no sign of rain.

"Nope, it's called the City of Rain now," Guren used chakra to keep his feet attached to the side of the lookout tower.

It was pretty ironic, actually. Nagato and Konan had to go to the afterlife because of their actions. If they were to be judged naturally, then no one would be sure whether they would go to Heaven and Hell. And even though the two themselves had decided to let nature take its course, others weren't so.

It was Minato who convinced the two to go to Soul Society with them and help the Ninjas there to make up for their actions. The Ironic part of the story was Yahiko, separated by his two best friends through life, and death was again separated. It wasn't like he didn't want to go, but he couldn't leave the village they always sought to protect alone. And so, he stayed behind and did everything in his power to make allies, used the favors he could. He raised the village from what it was to what it was now, a great, bustling place of trade between Stone, Leaf, and Sand.

It was also why it stopped being the village, and Yahiko was now a kind of Daimyo and probably the richest of them all.

Yuzu gently looked down at the city, "It's so warm...so much better than the stories we heard."

Guren walked back up the side, landing in the watchtower, patting Yuzu's head, "Yes. Although, it might not be as good as it looks."

"Our mission," Yuzu became upset, thinking about the mission they were on.

"Yes, it might not be as easy as you might think," Kakashi appeared in the center of the small square hold, looking over the village. He was wearing the band straight, his both black eyes visible.

"Kakashi Sensei," Karin greeted the teacher who came on the mission with them. This mission was supposed to be done by Sasuke, but Guren acted like a spoiled brat until Sasuke agreed to let them. In turn, either Hinata could have come with them on the mission. Still, she didn't have much experience in these types of missions, and so Kakashi was the one that had to babysit them. Although, he didn't seem to mind for his own reasons.

"We have barely heard the rumors about this Kara organization, even in the Underground. The Mujina Gang's Leader only came across the mark on Boruto's palm. He was reminded of a terrifying organization that went by the name Kara. Since he was too frightened to look at their faces, he couldn't give us details. Still, there were these marks on the wall," Kakashi stopped the briefing for a moment, "Before Boruto, there were two other people that had the same mark. Lady Tsunade...and Lord Jay..."

"You already know what these marks are, right?" Guren looked over his shoulder, blinking, smiling.

"Yes," Kakashi sighed, "We do. But that is why this organization is more dangerous. They might have that mark for natural reasons, whatever those might be. Or unnatural reasons...which is far more dangerous. Since the Trade City of Rain was growing, many invested in it. Not all of them were good...we need to find the bad ones."

"Right," Guren scratched his cheek, "I was thinking we'd go see Lord Yahiko."

"Maybe later," Kakashi glanced towards him, seeing the clothes he was wearing, "Much later."

"Don't think I didn't see that look," Karin hugged Guren's head, seemingly protecting him, "That is discrimination."

Kakashi sighed, "Let's go. I have to mainly teach the two of you how not to stand out."

"I can just turn into a Shinigami!" Karin puffed her chest out in pride. She loved it that most of them couldn't see her.

Yuzu held her hands in front of her, embarrassedly smiling, "I can...manipulate light...so no one can see me?"

"You two..." Kakashi sighed, "Are talented, but still have a lot to learn. Well, to start with. You can't become a Shinigami, and you can't use your Quincy powers."

"What!" Karin raised her voice since she sucked in hiding like a Ninja without those, "Guren!"

"What? I can't do anything!" Guren, who seemed to be lost in thought, shrugged. Disappearing from between them.

"Good, follow his example," Kakashi nodded, appreciating the technique.

"What example! He's gone!"

"Karin," Yuzu pulled on Karin's clothes, "Don't shout. We'll be found."

Konoha, Urahara's Shop,

"Certainly, an interesting technique," Kisuke Urahara used a magnifying glass to look at Boruto's palm, nodding to himself, "Very complicated...and it has been perfected over the years."

"You can tell all that by just looking through the magnifying glass?" Mitsuki curiously asked.

"Haha, that? Nope!" Urahara threw the magnifying glass, "I saw this technique before. Doesn't Jay has it too?"

"Yes, Teacher did have it," Sasuke nodded, under the confused eyes of the two who were confused.

There was little information about Jay in the Konoha, even though many remembered him. Still, there was no written/image/scrolls/statues. Just word of mouth. So, Boruto was the only one among the three who had even come close to seeing the man himself.

But even though he told Sarada and Mitsuki all about that encounter, he forgot to tell them that Jay had the same mark on his forehead.

"Teacher," Kisuke raised his eyebrows, hearing the new information. Usually, he spent his time enjoying the virtual game Guren made and collecting more information about the village and its past work. But this wasn't in the game. From what he figured, the game story had drastically changed; there was a certain flair that wasn't there before and more tragedies.

"Right, but he made this from Kaguya's scroll. Lady Tsunade isn't here, and since you are an expert on souls...how dangerous is it?"

"Very," Kisuke narrowed his eyes, "The Soul inside the boy is far more powerful than what he can handle. It is only a matter of time when he is entirely taken over by it. First, his body will change, and when it's ready to hold the Soul of this Momoshiki, he will be taken over. But you already know that...so I will warn you about what will come before. The boy...he will have fits...times when he loses control of his Soul to Otsutsuki...there might be times when you have your back towards him, and the next moment you would have a Kunai in your back. Or in your sleep."

Sasuke glanced towards Boruto, who seemed to be acting brave, but was stricken with fear, "Is there a solution?"

"Ah, that part is the easy part," Kisuke chuckled, "Since he's a vessel...it also means that the Soul can't leave him. I do think I could come up with something, but then...he would have to leave the village."

"I will!" Boruto's voice was filled with resolve, but Sasuke didn't react.

"Where?"

"To the other side."
