Someone saved me.

Returning to the room with Rosa, I hoped for a peaceful night's sleep, but my thoughts were consumed by a mix of sadness and worry. The absence of seeing him before my holiday departure weighed heavily on my mind, especially since he hadn't bothered to inform me of his trip to the city.As dawn broke, I chose to forgo breakfast, opting instead to dive into my training regimen."Why not grab a bite first?" Rosa's concern broke through my focus."I'll pass. Not hungry," I replied, heading straight for the pool.Hours slipped by in a blur of strokes and laps, my determination eclipsing the pangs of hunger and fatigue."Vicki, lunchtime. Let's go," Tina's voice interrupted my rhythm."I'll catch up. You guys enjoy," I waved them off."But..." Tina hesitated."Fine, one last round, then I'll join," I relented."We'll wait outside," Rosa said as they exited. In the midst of my final lap, a cramp seized my left leg, sending waves of pain through my body. Struggling to push through, I faltered as exhaustion and hunger took their toll. The water closed in, suffocating and disorienting me. Just as darkness threatened to engulf me, a splash shattered the silence. Kyle.He pulled me from the water, my lungs gasping for air. His forehead met mine in a moment of relief."Are you okay?" His concern was palpable.I nodded weakly."What were you thinking? Do you want to get hurt?" His voice rose, laced with worry and anger."Why yell? Can't you be a bit gentler?" I managed."I heard you skipped meals and pushed yourself too hard. If this continues, I'll have to intervene," Kyle's tone softened slightly, but his concern remained."I'm sorry. It was just a cramp," I defended."Just a cramp? Next time, I won't be there to save you," his threat was tinged with genuine fear.(My Thoughts: Worried about you, and now you're upset with me.)"Okay, okay, I was wrong. My leg hurts. Can you take me to the doctor?" I relented, wanting to ease the tension.Though questions swirled in my mind, his unexpected rescue had left me too overwhelmed to voice them. Cradled in his arms, we left for the medical bay, his silence echoing louder than words.
