A Bloody Battle

I could feel my heartbeat loudly as it thumped against my chest. Everyone bellowed and stomped their feet as they were excited to see a painful drama.

I gulped when I saw Felix entering the ring with a blank expression.

I knew Edward chose Felix on purpose as he was one of the best trainees here, not to mention one of the most ruthless ones as well. I knew it would be stupid to think that he would go easy on me just because we have trained together because I knew that Felix was a totally different person when it comes to matches.

I knew he wouldn't hesitate to strike his opponents if his reputation and career depend on it.

I tried to focus on my training and made sure not to stay in one spot for long. At first, I was doing pretty good as I managed to dodge several of his blows and I was surprised that I was actually able to keep up with him.

"Come on boy, quit playing with her! You can do that next time! For now, I want to see some action!" Edward yelled while I frowned.

What is he talking about?

And I soon got my answer. While I was distracted, Felix hit me hard on the stomach, I heard the crowd cheered as I grunted and fell down. I waited for him to hit me again but to my surprise, he didn't.

I looked up, just to see him eyeing me with a cold expression.

"Get up, I want a proper match."

I did as he said and got smacked on the side of my head, my vision blurred and I stumbled, expecting to pass out but I managed to hold on for a little longer.

"Is this really the best you can do? What a pity." He smirked.

I clenched my teeth as he mocked me, I was really pissed as I considered him to be my friend.

I ran to him in fury, completely forgetting about the rules that he taught me in our training sessions, and tried to punch the lights out of him while he sidestepped me and I lost my balance, which caused me to fall on my face.

"Tsk, what a shame, if you want to, you can surrender and quit the training. Go back to playing daddy's little princess. Clearly, you aren't made for this"

My blood boiled as everyone laughed at his remarks.

I swept my body under his legs, he fell down with a surprised expression and I locked a chokehold around his neck. However, I wasn't able to hold it for long as I was getting dizzy.

"Good job," Felix whispered as he jabbed at my ear and I passed out.

I woke up to something wet touching my face. I opened my eyes and saw my mom putting towels on my forehead, she smiled and kissed me.

"How are your feeling sweetheart?"

"I feel horrible," I groaned as I tried to shift my position and saw my dad sitting on the edge of the bed while Alex was standing with his back facing me.

"What happened?" I asked them as my mind was still blank.

"Alex brought you home after you passed out."

I scrunched my face when I got hit by the sudden memories of that horrible event that took place.

"I-I didn't mean to make you guys worried, I'm sorry that you had to shut the bakery early because of me."

Dad walked up to me and grabbed my hand. "Don't be silly Flair, you are more important to us than that bakery."

"I am really sorry Mom and Dad, I am s-such a burden to you guys, I always disappoint you a-and I know I am so s-selfish to pursue my dreams when you both need me to help y- you with the finance and stuff." I finally broke down in tears, no longer being able to control my emotions.

"Shush, don't cry princess, and don't overthink about that, we told you that we would support you and Alex in every decision then why are you blaming yourself?" He comforted me, rubbing my back as my breathing hitched.

"Dad, I love you and Mom, you know that right?" I said as I looked up at him.

"Yeah princess, we love you too". He pinched my nose.

I noticed that all this time Alex hasn't moved from his position although now his shoulders were a little tense. We weren't always like this, we used to be very close to each other but then one day he just shut me out. It was hurting me a lot as we used to share each and everything and now it felt as if I have lost a part of my soul. I tried to talk to him several times but he would either ignore me or get frustrated. So I gave up to make effort towards him. I wish I could go back in time and relive those golden memories one more time.

"Alex, are you okay?" I asked after Mom and Dad left to give us some privacy.

He turned around and I saw that his lips were bleeding, he looked really tired and his eyes were a bit red.

"I'm fine."

"What happened?" I asked a bit encouraged to see him responding to me.

"Nothing," he said as he averted his gaze.

"Come on, just tell me."

"I got into a fight."

I knew that was all I could get out of him. My eyes roamed to his knuckles which were bloody and sored.

"Let me treat your wound."

"No, just rest and get better." With that, he walked out while I smiled as my heartfelt less heavy.
