Trying to Impress

Aelia felt a little contradictory on seeing the complete contract. She could not fully comprehend the source of her satisfaction, as almost all the terms of the contract had been proposed by herself.

The conditions proposed by her had been only slightly modified by Asher who had provided her with reasons that were justifiable enough to make Aelia feel that the changes were quite reasonable. Further, Aelia also did not find the only condition, provided by Asher, as unreasonable. She thought that since they were getting married, it was natural to not call her husband so formally as 'Your Highness' all the time. Thus, Asher's proposal to call him informally was accepted by Aelia.

After thoroughly checking all the conditions and finding no reason to dispute them, Aelia reluctantly signed the contract and handed it over to Asher.

Seeing that his angel had signed the contract, Asher was extremely pleased and smirked at Aelia.

Asher's smirk made Aelia feel that she had definitely walked into a trap with this contract. But however much she thought, she could not find the reason for her anxiety.

She reluctantly held the pen up for Asher, so that he could take it and sign his name on the contract.

Asher shook his head and did not take the pen.

Aelia gave a confused look at Asher and wondered whether he would walk out of signing the contract.

Asher had no such thought. How could he let this wonderful opportunity, that allowed him to openly shower his angel with his feelings, pass!

The next thing that Asher did, surprised Aelia.

Asher brought out a sprinkle of reddish water from the tip of his index finger and used it as ink to sign the contract.

Noticing Aelia's curious gaze, he explained, "It's a mixture of my blood and water, which acts as an indisputable mark that this signature can not be counterfeit as it can only belong to the Crown Prince of Delphia."

Actually, Asher could have just used the Royal seal of the Ivanov Royal family to sign the contract. However, how could he miss the chance of impressing his little angel?

In fact, the method used by Asher to sign the contract was usually not preferred by the Delphians as it posed a certain threat to the physical health of the person.

This was because, when Zagov, the magical essence of a Delphian's body mixed with his blood essence, they could exert opposing pressure in a Delphian's body, which in severe cases could even lead to instant death. This technique, thus, required the user's utmost control over both the Zagov and the blood essence within his body.

Hence, this technique was inadvisable for the Delphians, particularly for the members of the Royal family. In fact, if Julian Alekhin, Asher's Personal Aide had seen his Crown Prince, he would have surely berated him, as Asher had used this precarious method just to impress his fiancee.

However, it would not have mattered to Asher even if Julian was present. The reason behind this was, for Asher the greatest challenge that he was facing at present was to win the heart of his beloved angel. So, how could he miss such an opportunity to impress his Aelia? It was impossible, definitely impossible!

Just as he thought, Aelia was quite impressed by this fantastical power. This was simply because, though Aelia initially felt that her life was suddenly spiralling out of control with the mention of the Delphian prophecy, the mythical Firebird and whatnot, after seeing Asher demonstrate these powers, she could not help but feel extremely curious and excited about this new life.

Aelia had always believed that life would present various paths even when it seemed that one had no other options. Sometimes these paths were good, sometimes bad; they might lead one towards a better future or might pull one down towards a worse fate. However, it all depended on the individual and the choices one made. Aelia never believed in having regrets after choosing to go down one path, for she believed that at least the choice she made was based on her own decision.

For instance, Aelia did not see the matter of herself going to Delphia as her only choice. What she saw were the two choices she was now presented with. Yes, it was a definite fact that she had to go to Delphia; but she could go there, either feeling bitter and scared about this new life, she was suddenly pushed into, or she could go there with the excitement of engaging in the mysterious lifestyle of the Delphians, which very few people across the world would find an opportunity to engage in.

In spite of the looming dangers and unknown variables of the future, Aelia chose to be optimistic about her new life and go to Delphia with an adventurous spirit, for she did not believe in worrying excessively over matters that had yet to pass.

For now, Aelia asked Asher the question that was constantly bugging her, since his appearance at her birthday party

"Your Highness..."

Asher interrupted Aelia with a frown and reminded her, "Uh-huh! No more Your Highness! Why don't you start calling me hubby? After all, practice always makes everything better! Besides, the contract stated that you would no longer call me so formally and this was effective immediately after the signing of the contract!"

Aelia was flustered by Asher's sudden insistence in calling him informally and she blushed.

However, much she thought, she could not bring herself to utter such cheesy words so shamelessly, just after knowing him for even less than a day.

She tried to negotiate a little, "How about starting with just your name, Your Hi...I mean A-asher?"

Asher felt that his heart was being filled with honey, when he saw his angel's blushing face and her rosy lips sweetly calling his name.

Seeing Asher going into a daze, just by hearing his name from her mouth, Aelia blushed even more furiously.

Asher's eyes traced the gradually spreading red tint on Aelia's skin, which began from her cheeks and gradually spread to her slender neck, then further down to the alluring swell of her breasts.

Asher's throat suddenly felt dry and he quickly averted his gaze.

Aelia was blushing even more furiously due to the sudden ambiguous atmosphere between them.
