Childish Brother vs Fiance

Mrs Wilson and Reine were feeling very dissatisfied with Andrew Romanov's decision. But, even if they were feeling dissatisfied, what could they do about it?

Both of them continued eating their breakfast with dark expression on their faces.

The others at the dining table did not mind this at all and continued with their own breakfast.

Asher picked up a piece of sausage with his fork and placed it on Aelia's plate.

"Angel, don't you love eating this? Here, you should have more!"

Azrael glared at Asher and wanting not to be outdone by him, Azrael, too, picked up different dishes and began to place them on Aelia's plate.

As Azrael placed the dishes on Aelia's plate, he gave a provocative smirk at Asher and said, "Lia, don't you like these dishes more than sausage?"

Asher rolled his eyes at Azrael and poured out some beverage from the pot into Aelia's cup.

Asher gave a warm smile at Aelia and said, "Here, why don't you try this drink? I specially had the kitchen prepare this for you after I came in the morning?"

Aelia gave a curious glance at the drink in her cup and asked Asher, "What's this? It doesn't look like the usual tea or coffee?"

Asher explained while throwing a glance at Azrael, "This is indeed not your usual tea or coffee! This drink is made from Valla beans that are specially cultivated in Delphia!"

Hearing this, everyone was shocked, as the Valla beans Asher was talking about, were only mass-produced in Delphia. All the other countries could only produce a barrel of Valla beans annually and that too if they were lucky.

Actually, the Valla plants needed extremely specific conditions to germinate and one plant could only produce a handful of beans. Besides this, the Valla plants flowered every five years, so the farmers generally did not want to cultivate these plants, as they would have to depend on their luck to grow these plants and then they would have to wait for five years to allow the plants to produce the Valla beans.

Hence, most of the Valla beans, produced by other countries, were gathered from the Valla plants that occasionally grew in the wild. Naturally, their annual produce was extremely low, which in turn made the Valla beans an extremely precious commodity in society.

However, Delphia was the only exception to this case. This was because, the restrictions for growing the Valla plants were easily overcome by them, as the Magis could easily control the weather and bring forth the optimal conditions for growing the Valla plants. This together with the planters' control over the plants, helped them to reduce the flowering time of the Valla plants from five years to one month.

Thus, the Delphians had a monopoly over the Valla beans in the world market. Every year, the beans were sold outside Delphia at exorbitant prices, as the drink produced from the Valla beans was not only delicious, but it also had several health benefits.

Asher had specifically brought the Valla beans from Delphia, as he knew that his angel liked coffee which had a thicker and creamier taste than tea. However, unlike coffee, the Valla beans did not act as a stimulant but instead had non-stimulant properties and could produce soothing effects on the body.

Aelia took a hesitant sip of the drink, as she had never tasted it before and was very picky with her choice of foods and drinks.

But, just after a sip, a slightly sweet and creamy taste spread in her mouth.

Aelia liked the drink very much and gave her thanks to Asher with a delighted expression on her face.

Asher felt particularly pleased to see such a cute expression on his angel's face.

Seeing that his little sister was paying so much attention to Asher, Azrael frowned and poured out the remaining drink from the pot into his own cup.

He quickly gulped down the drink and cringed at its sweet taste.

He then hurriedly drank a mouthful of water and mumbled petulantly, "What's so great about this drink!"

Asher scoffed, "Well, I didn't prepare this for you! Who told you to drink all of it?"

Seeing her brother and Asher bickering like a child, Aelia was left speechless and she just rolled her eyes.

Aylin and Mr Romanov glanced at each other and sighed helplessly.

Who could have ever imagined two grown men, that too, one of them being the Crown Prince of the most powerful country and the other being one of the two closest advisors to the said Crown Prince, would squabble like children.

While Aelia paid no attention to her childish brother and fiance and continued having her breakfast, the expressions of the two people at the end of the table continued to increasingly worsen.

Reine and her mother felt extremely angry as no one paid any attention to them and treated them like outsiders who were eating at the same dining table as the Romanovs.

Reine specially was green with envy as she watched Aelia being served various foods by both Asher and Azrael.

Reine could still tolerate when Azrael pampered Aelia, as they had been siblings for almost twenty years; but she could not help feeling extremely envious when Asher, who was the Crown Prince of the most mysterious and powerful country, served foods and drinks to Aelia with his own hands.

Reine stewed in anger and jealousy as she thought that initially, all these should have belonged to her. If Mr Romanov had chosen her as the primary heir of the Romanov family, it would have been her who would have been served by the Crown Prince himself.

Reine gave no thought to the fact that she was just pretending to be the daughter of Mr Romanov. Besides, anyone could see that Asher had feelings for his fiancee and that was why he was going as far as serving Aelia with his own hands.

Thus, even if Reine had really been a Romanov, Asher would have paid no attention to her.

Reine felt so suffocated by her jealousy, that she quickly excused herself from the dining table as she felt that others would be able to see her thoughts.

Mrs Wilson too got up from the dining table and followed Reine.

No one paid any attention to them, and continued having their breakfast while chatting with each other.

At this time, Azrael advised his father, "Dad, can you please delay the arrangements for sending Reine abroad for a week? Her semester results would be out within this week, so we could select a suitable university for her after looking at her results. After all, it would give us a better idea about which university would be better for her!"

Mr Romanov easily agreed to Asher's advice. He did not feel suspicious at all as he found the things said by Asher quite reasonable.
