CHAPTER 5

Vaquita and I silently walked around, guns in hand as we turned every corner to checked for anyone who would try to stop us. He made a sign to me telling me that we were going to split and i nod my head in understanding, I turned left while he turned right silently, as I took my next turn my breath hitched when i saw Saola in front of me.

With an evil smirk he threw a punch which I dodged swiftly thanks to my quick reflex, while he was distracted I kicked his knee from behind and he lost his balance which lead to my opportunity to put him in headlock, he tried fighting me off but eventually gave up and pressed the button by his side. the loud siren in the room alerted me and the others that the game was over.

"oh come on", I heard Jade exclaim from the other side of the room, along with a string of curses that left Scorpion's mouth.

"I'm sorry guys" Saola apologized as they approached us

"there's no need to apologize dude" Scorpion said when he got to us, " you do need to work more on your perseverance skills though, you can't just give up like that when you're in a fight. Rose you did well but as I've said before you need to be carful when putting your opponent in a head lock. there could be someone behind you or worst he/she could pull a dagger and stab you with it, so take the shut as soon as they're distracted. Got it?"

"sure" "absolutely" Saola and I responded at the same time.

"Alright, you can all go for a break and meet me in the classroom in 3 hours" he dismissed us.

Others decided to go hang out in Area 5 after we all put our gear away. Area 5 is this big space where we all go to hang out when we are free, it's mostly where the parties and other non-training activities take place.

I was currently under the shower as I needed to relieve myself of every unwanted stress in my system. I was still yet to process the fact that I had just spent 3 years here, 3 years of everyone in the outside world thinking I was dead. You would think that since I had spent such a long time here I would probably forget everything but I don't, I keeping about the 'what if's'. What if I had never been taken that day, funny enough I have no one outside but I still wonder.

This week though is what I'm excited about, well not really excited but the point is the team are finishing their training this week. I know I'm going to get a new team but I'm still happy for them because I know how had they've all worked for this moment. I don't get to finish mine till next year because I came a year late but there's going to be a party to celebrate them and others for there successful 4 years of training. They are still going to be my roommates for a year but they won't be around much because they'll going on missions. Normally, they're meant to leave but they all spoke to David about them waiting for me so we can all go out together and he agreed so that's the plan I guess.

I walked to Lucy's office for the therapy session we were required to have with her regularly. She does this thing where she tries to get in your mind and makes sure you remain as heartless as ever. She's not my favorite person but it doesn't mean I hate her, I just don't get positive vibes while I'm around her.

"Hello Rose"

"Hi Lucy" I replied while taking the empty sit I usually take when I come to see her, while she was over by the hanger in her office probably picking out an outfit for someone's mission.

"How is your week going" she asked with her back still to me.

"It's fine I guess. I just can't wait for the party" I replied getting a bit excited.

"speaking of the party" at this point she stopped what she was doing and turned to me, "how do you feel about your teammates graduating"

"I'm happy for them actually. I know how hard they worked for this, they deserve it"

" don't your feel a bit left out"

"I do but there's nothing bad about it. I just have to wait another year"

"So what if you got an opportunity to leave with them, would you take it"

"obviously, I mean who wouldn't take the opportunity"

"Brain storm. You're locked in an empty room that has no windows or other rooms. It's just one big space with a table at the corner, a knife and gun are on the table and there's a puppy in there with you, what do you do"

"Shoot the puppy and use the knife to cut it open so I can get the key from inside the dead animal"

She smiled at me, "You've improved. If I had asked you this 3 years ago you would have probably preferred to die in the room"

"Well apparently, this is what 3 years of training does to you"

we talked some more, and she took up my remaining break. when she dismissed me, I made my way to the classroom since I knew the others would be there.

"Great, Rose is here so we can begin." Scorpion addressed as I got in and took my seat next to Campion.

"In front of each one of you is a computer which you will use to hack into the account projected on the board and transfer all the money to the acct on the piece of paper beside you" he addressed " if you are detected you get locked out. which means you have to be fast and cunning in other to not be detected easily. You have 60 seconds. Start".

I knew I couldn't rush into it, David had actually taught me how to distract them with a fake user so that was what I did. It was actually a firewall in form of a user so it would be hard for it to be logged out, so while the unknown person was distracted with logging out the fake user I had already transferred every penny into the directed account.

"Done" I said while looking at Scorpion. He did a double take on his watch.

"wow babygirl, nice work" Vaquita said, at this point everyone had stopped since I already transferred everything.

"Thanks"

"new record, 40 seconds. Good Job Rose" Scorpion said then turned to the rest of the team " good job everyone but you have to be faster next time. I would have told you guys to ask her how she did it but that would be done later since we have to get going"

"where are you guys going?" I asked a bit confused

"oh we have this thing that was organized for those graduating. It won't take long, we'll be back before you know it" Scorpion assured me. I just gave him a nod and they left, since I was alone I decided to go meet David, I could really use the extra training at this point.
