CHAPTER LXXI:The Call Of The Underworld

After I got out of the shower I was looking at the scars I still had. Combat ambrosia was weaker than normal ambrosia and the scars had set. The small difference between the ambrosia mixtures was that combat ambrosia was watered down to not weaken a warrior with the power it took to heal the body. That being said regular ambrosia doesn't react that way, it heals you then and there. I looked at the scar on my hand from where I got stabbed with the raiper. That scar would never heal, it wasn't a matter of it setting or how much ambrosia I had, it was a matter of poison. Sun bane and Moon bane wounds never faded, it was the cost of using sacred materials for vile purposes.

I got dressed in my black shirt, white denim jacket, and black jeans. I walked out of the bathroom and to the right. There was an oak door there with the Athens Owl splashed on with white and blue paint. I walked inside to see an incredibly neat room. Books were organized on five shelves by date published, author last name, and book in series if it was applicable. Twenty-three LED watches were set up on a nightstand each set to a different hour. Followed by a set of twelve regular watches each set to a different hour as well. I was really wondering if this room belonged to the same ADHD riddled person who messed up the living room with textbooks and pencils.

On Penny's bed lay five weapons. My sword and dagger were with my belt, Sean's Raiper was next to my belt, and Deonna's daggers were there as well with a note. I slowly picked it up and read the note aloud to myself.

"To Mary Riley, Daughter of Hades. These daggers were made for me after I was made a goddess, they have followed whoever has defeated their master. Under normal circumstances, Keaton Francis should've gotten them. Of course none of the underlying circumstances are normal. The first is that Keaton Francis is dead, the second circumstance of chance is that, while yes Keaton Francis did kill Deonna Rosado, you defeated Deonna Rosado in combat. Deonna Rosado's daggers are yours until such a time will arrive that you are unfortunately defeated, treat them well Mary Riley, Daughter of Hades. Sincerely, Eva Rossi, The Goddess of The Written Word." I said reading the note that was left next to the daggers.

I sighed deeply and picked the daggers, the design was simple. It was two blue hilts with black guards and two cursed steel blades. Then they changed into white and black daggers, and soon after they changed into black metal rings with diamonds on them. I squeezed my fists and opened them quickly as the daggers slid into my hands, I gripped them and looked at them again. I spun the daggers in my hands and they turned into rings and went back on my fingers.

"You should have seen Keaton try to grab them in the recovery effort, they scorched his hand. Hades had to bring them here, and even then he had trouble bringing them here." Penny said from the doorway.

I nodded and tried taking the rings off to no avail. "They're stuck." I said.

"They're not stuck, they have a binding curse. If you manage to somehow lose the daggers after claiming them they come back as those rings." Penny explained.

I looked at the rings once more and felt an overwhelming guilt. Luke was heartbroken when his friend died. I put the other weapons on Penny's dresser and sat on the bed. I sat there for a minute in silence with Penny next to me. After sitting there my necklace started burning.

"Damn it." I muttered.

"What's wrong?" Penny asked.

I went to grab my necklace. "I'm about to find out." I said, grabbing my necklace.

Within an instant I was in The Underworld in my dads war room. He had it made in case the Olympians needed an emergency meeting and he couldn't, or rather shouldn't, leave The Underworld. The room was simplistic, black stone walls and ash covered marble pillars. In the middle of the room was a long table with fourteen seats, a seat for the rare thirteen Olympians and Hades' wife. The role were reversed with Zeus and Hades here, in The Underworld Hades had the final say. It was a rule that was put in place soon after the reign of gods started. If the Olympic council couldn't, under any circumstances, hold a meeting on Olympus then they would hold it in Atlantis or The Underworld. Hades was at the head of the table with an empty chair next to him to was meant for my stepmother, Persephone. At least Hades was nice in his invitations, I didn't feel like getting taken for a flight by eagle.

"Welcome to an emergency council meeting, Mary Riley." Apollo said.

"Yeah! I bet it's better than the flight our dad took you on!" Artemis shouted from next to him.

Zeus, who was sitting in between Hera and Hades, glared at them both. Even the Olympians found it weird when Apollo and Artemis had seemingly switched personalities. Especially since it was rare that they did, I guess the war was wearing on Apollo too much.

"This is what happens when you have godly twins, dear husband." Hera said coldly.

Hades cleared his throat. "Can we not do this in front of a guest, especially since said guest is my daughter." He said, clearly hiding some anger.

"Hades is right, besides I don't wanna be here long. I have no outfits that match black and ash." Aphrodite said looking at her maroon and white dress.

"Can you focus on something other than outfits dear." Hephaestus said looking at her.

Ares and Aphrodite looked equally offended by that statement. I felt bad for Hephaestus, he really did try to make Aphrodite happy but she wouldn't have it. That was one of the many reasons I despised Aphrodite.

"Getting to the point, we need a viable report on the Minor God Five. Specifically on a Elise Walker and a Jeffery Spencer, also known as Dreamwalker and Sorcerer." Athena said, it sounded like she was reading it from a report.

It was weird to hear the Minor God Five's real names. They were always called by code names Dreamwalker, Ghost, Shadow, Sorcerer, and Crow. There were others, like Reacher and Sword, but those five were the current members. The rest were unknown since that legion was highly secretive, but modern day feats have made it impossible for no one to know the current code names.

"What kind of information?" I asked.

"Confirmation, we need it to convince Zeus to deploy his legion full force." Demeter calmly said.

"Dreamwalker and Sorcerer were both there, not just them though. Crow and Ghost were also there, as well as the Unknown Order. A secret legion you kept from demigods for a millennia." I said looking at the Olympian council.

Athena stared at me trying to find something to say, same as Ares and Hades. They were all shocked that their secret was out. Ever since World War One they've known about the order and we're in refusal to stop it. I looked around the table and say that one of the gods wasn't shocked, he wasn't surprised that his efforts to hide the order was in vain.

A familiar cold voice called out, "I should've killed you when I got the chance, Mary." Zeus said, looking into my eyes.
