"That's it, I'm done, I give up!" I said to Audrey after she swings a ball to my face, it was the fourth time.
We are playing tennis in an exclusive country club for the rich and famous. Audrey got three memberships for free after she helped an anonymous rich lady track down the mastermind behind the theft of her family heirloom. It was the dude I sketched for her.
I asked her why the rich lady didn't involve the police after she apprehended the criminal. Audrey shrugs and said her client wanted to inflict her own punishment on him. I felt sorry for that dude. I'm wondering if that rich lady is a mafia boss or something.
Audrey doesn't work for the security firm anymore, she is a freelance private investigator and it seems she is making more money from it.
"We are not done yet" she chirps swinging another ball. I flinched, hitting the ball with the racket.
I gasp a breath in relief, thanking God the ball missed my face.
