Lee Miyeon (Irene) was adopted as a child when her parents who were Korean immigrants died in an unfortunate accident. Her foster parents initially treated her kindly but  changed after they were able to conceive a child of their own. She was eventually sent abroad after a traumatic incident threatened the Lee Family's reputation in high society. Yet soon after, the family's business takes a turn for the worse and Miyeon is abandoned completely.

<p>Shu Li was livid. A rat has leaked the designs of Le Ciel's 20XX fall launch originally set this coming Friday. Her new assistant Ru He had called her at 1am in the morning with a panicked voice to inform her of the matter. All the designs were copied to a T by their rival Fashion House, Apres Moi. Immediately the Le Ciel team was in crisis mode. A group was tasked to trace the source of the leak while a larger team began to pore through designs that barely made the cut for the fall release. The main goal was to see if the pieces could be used for this emergency launch. Other designers actually believe they need to scrap the look altogether at the risk of being accused of plagiarism. And this ambitious group started to submit entire fall lookbooks to Shu Li in the early hours of the morning. By the time she got to the office at 8am, she had a mountain of sketches to review.  </p>
