Lee Miyeon (Irene) was adopted as a child when her parents who were Korean immigrants died in an unfortunate accident. Her foster parents initially treated her kindly but  changed after they were able to conceive a child of their own. She was eventually sent abroad after a traumatic incident threatened the Lee Family's reputation in high society. THE LADY IS A COLD HEARTED PROTAGONIST

The next morning, Miyeon was greeted by yet another visitor from C Country.

Miyeon was utterly surprised to find a bare faced Shu Li in sweats and trainers and close to tears as the latter barged into her hospital room.

"Shu—- Shu Li? What in the… what happened to you?" Miyeon asked in a halting manner. The Wei Shu Li she knows would never leave the house without a full face of makeup. Moreover, Shu Li didn't wear sweatpants and sweatshirts. The newly appointed chief designer of Le Ciel is the type who always wore sports bras and leggings or tank tops and running shorts to workout.

So this appearance gracing the presence of Miyeon was an anomaly. Is this perhaps… a doppelgänger? Did her best friend get body snatched?!

Amidst Miyeon's fantastical thoughts, she heard Shu Li cry out.

"What do you mean what happened to me?! You bad girl!!! You get hospitalized again and you just send me a text?!" Shu Li exclaimed.
