Lee Miyeon (Irene) was adopted as a child when her parents who were Korean immigrants died in an unfortunate accident. Her foster parents initially treated her kindly but  changed after they were able to conceive a child of their own. She was eventually sent abroad after a traumatic incident threatened the Lee Family's reputation in high society. Yet soon after, the family's business takes a turn for the worse and Miyeon is abandoned completely.

THE LADY IS A COLD HEARTED PROTAGONIST

Lu Minzhe stood frozen in his spot.

Miyeon has gotten her memory back. It's only a matter of time before she finds out about his involvement. Then she will hate him. Should he come clean now? Guilt crept in and slowly began to eat at Lu Minzhe. But just as Miyeon could not bear to break up with Jesse, Lu Minzhe also could not bear to be apart from Miyeon. So he resolved to keep up the facade for as long as he could.

"What should I do?" A half lucid Miyeon asked.

"Yeon-ah, first things first you should have a seat." Lu Minzhe handed Miyeon a glass of water. "Drink this, it will calm you down."

Miyeon took the glass from Lu Minzhe. It was then that she realized the man was acting too calmly when faced with her incoherent ramblings.

"Jesse won't break up with you nor would he hate you. That man loves you too much." Lu Minzhe said in a soothing voice.

"Minzhe-ge…. Do you know what happened to me?"
