"CAAAAAAWWWWW!!!"

"ROOOOOOAAARRR!!!"

Auras clashed in the forest. One from a flaming bird high in the sky and the other from a colossal gorilla on the ground.

[Skill created:]

[Phoenix Fiery Domination Lv 1]

[The aura of the phoenix spreads its domination in the surroundings. Weaker beings in the area will submit.]

Alilith and the gorilla stared at each other with rage in their eyes. Neither moved.

The forest was eerily quiet. The only sound to be heard was the beating of Alilith's flaming wings.

*Baaaannnggg*

Suddenly the gorilla leapt into the air using its powerful arms to launch it. A deep crater was left where it once stood.

The gorilla raised its arms above its head and put his fist together. As it soared higher into the sky the gorilla put more and more power into its muscles causing them to bulge making them as thick as a truck.

Alilith was shocked that the gorilla could jump this high into the air. Her shock soon turned into rage.

"How dare this filth invade on my territory! The sky is my territory!"

However the gorilla had already reached her and was swinging his arms down to smack her out of the sky.

Alilith quickly flapped her wings flying around the gorillas massive hands.

The gorilla's powerful arms created gusts of wind sending Alilith tumbling through the sky. Before the gorilla started to plummet back towards the earth.

Quickly reorienting herself Alilith saw this as a chance to strike back at the gorilla.

Alilith shot forward like a rocket, propelling herself with fire. Swiping down like a hawk, Alilith charged at the gorilla with her razor sharp talons.

The gorilla blocked the talons with one of its arms. The talons left deep wounds on its arms that burned with flames that quickly spread further onto its arm.

"Rooooaaarrrr!!" Roaring in pain the gorilla quickly started patting its arm with the other one trying to put out the fire as it continues to plummet to the earth. In its panic it created strong gusts of wind that hit Alilith sending her hurtling to the ground as well.

[-35 Health]

Alilith for the first time in this life felt pain. She could feel the she broke some bone in her body sending searing pain throughout her body.

[Pain Resistance Lv 1 Gained]

While the skill helped Alilith it didn't do much for her. Furthermore, she didn't have time to worry about her broken bone as she was quickly falling to the ground.

She desperately flapped her wings to slow down her fall. She knew, however, that she was not going to get out of this unscathed.

*Baaaaannnngggg!!*

Once again an explosion is heard resounding in the forest as both Alilith and the King of the Forest hit the ground in two different spots creating massive dust clouds to fly into the sky.

[-15 Health]

Alilith had successfully slowed her fall but she did not get out without injury. She broke yet another bone in her body, fortunately it was not one necessary to fly.

The gorilla on the other hand had not calculated for the damage it would receive when falling back to the ground. Furthermore it was focused on putting out Alilith's fire. While it had some intelligence the gorilla was still only as smart as a normal gorilla.

The gorilla had many injuries all over its body. it was bleeding profusely from a terrible gash on its back. However, contrary to how it looks, the gorilla's eyes were still brimming with life and rage.

"Roooooaaaaarrr!" The gorilla roared with rage and uprooted a tree with one hand. It looked around for Alilith with anger burning in its eyes.

Alilith watched from a short distance away as she got up from the ground. Seeing that the gorilla didn't know where she was, Alilith gathered gathered mana once again to her mouth to shoot fire at the unsuspecting gorilla.

Sensing the danger the gorilla whipped its head around to look at Alilith. However it was too late to attack her as there was a constant stream of fire coming right for the gorilla.

The gorilla quickly used the tree to block the fire. However the fire quickly spread over the tree and leaping onto its arms once again.

Roaring in pain the gorilla quickly leapt to the side to get out of the range of Alilith's flames. It also threw away the tree that was quickly being reduced to ashes.

Once again the gorilla swatted at its arms trying to put out the fire. It quickly started panicking since the fire wouldn't go out and started rolling on the ground sending plumes of dirt flying into the air.

Alilith did not let this opportunity go and quickly flew back into the sky and once again gained the advantage of maneuverability.

As the gorilla continued to roll on the ground screaming in pain Alilith thought about her next move.

'Last time when I attacked him I went too close to it.' Alilith thought, 'I can't get to close, if I do I risk getting hit badly again.'

Quickly formulating a plan she started to put her plan in action.

It was rather simple. All she had to do was stay away in the sky and let justice rain from above.

Alilith flapped her wings sending feathers of flame down onto the already burning gorilla.

[Basic Fire Magic: Lv 5-Lv 6]

The gorilla, being too focused on its pain and putting out the fire, was too late to notice the flaming feathers flying toward it.

The feathers pierced into the hide of the gorilla and burst into flame causing small explosions to appear all over the gorilla creating small craters to appear on its body.

The gorilla screamed loudly in pain. wounds bled profusely all over its body.

Standing up the gorilla no longer focused on the flames that were still spreading on its body. It stared with indignation at Alilith.

Grabbing anything in its surroundings, the gorilla started launching them rapidly at Alilith.

Alilith dodged in weaved in between the projectiles, albeit in great pain because her pervious wounds. Alilith launched more and more flaming feathers at the gorilla creating more wounds to cover its body.

Soon enough the gorilla was loosing strength in its body. Less and less projectiles were thrown at Alilith.

Alilith knew that it was almost dead as a massive puddle of blood and flesh that blew off the gorilla from the feathers was below it.

It just needed one final push until it was dead. The gorilla knew this too.

It wanted more than anything to kill the pesky bird that flew above it. If it was going down it was bringing that bird with it!

Bringing out the last of its strength the gorilla picked up a massive boulder the size of a semi truck.

It gathered all of its strength in its arms getting ready to throw the boulder.

Alilith was not idle either. She wasn't stupid, she knew what the gorilla intended to do. She flew higher and higher into the sky and readied her own move to finish off the gorilla.

Both of them looked at the other with disdain clear in their eyes. The gorilla knowing that its death was near threw the boulder with all its strength and Alilith launched a huge fireball 15 feet across at the gorilla.

The fireball quickly reached the gorilla, who had no strength to move, engulfing it in flames that quickly burned through the rest of its life.

Unfortunately, the gorilla will never know that it did not bring down the pesky bird in the sky but miss its throw by a small amount.

Alilith watched the as the gorilla was engulfed in her flames and was surprised to see that the boulder did in fact reach her height but was easily dodged by her.

"Wow! Alilith, you just killed the King of the Forest!" Lao said appearing from seemingly nowhere.

"So, where were you?" Alilith said staring at Lao indignantly while she changed back into her human form.

"I was hiding. I take great pride in being a spirit of a scholarly disposition not like those muscle headed fighters." Lao says with pride evident on her face.

"Uh huh." Alilith sighed "I see your scholarly disposition comes with cowardice."

"W,w,w,What?! Cowardice!! I am clearly the epitome of bravery. I just chose not to fight so you can get experience." Lao nodded sagely.

"So that's why you were begging me to run away." Alilith said mockingly.

"I was just checking to see if YOU were a coward."

"Okay, whatever you say" Alilith started walking tiredly.

While she was walking Lao continued to complain and preach about her bravery. Suddenly Alilith felt her [Soul Flame] tug in a certain direction.

Following that feeling Alilith started walking as if in a trance.

"Hey! Alilith! Are you listening to me!" However Alilith kept walking in her trance.

Lao, starting to get worried, floated carefully behind her. They continued walking for an hour before they reached a cave.

The cave didn't look like something special, it was just a tunnel in the side of a mountain that similarly had nothing going for it except its height.

Alilith walked into the cave without hesitation. When they got further into the cave a dark red light dyed the walls its shade.

Continuing further they reached a spacious room. In the center of the room was a small red flame, about the size of a palm floating in the air.
