The Dragon and the library

Marie was locked in her room for disobeying her father, the maid was saved, but exiled from the city. Marie looks around and sees her door opening with Zyune at the other side,

"Greetings Young Mistress."

"Ummm… Is my father still mad?"

"Quite."

"Yikes."

"Huh…?"

"It means... nothing…"

Marie did not feel like spreading modern culture into this world.

"so can I walk around the manor?"

"Your father did not forbid it."

"So can you help me find the library?"

"The library? Why would you need to go there?"

"I want to read…"

"Alright I guess I can not argue with you."

"Alright!"

While walking to the library behind Zyune, Marie remembered,

"Oh yeah! I'm one/fourth Elf! So I must be able to use some elven magic, but… What kind?"

"Hey Zyune?"

Zyune stops and turns around and looks down,

"Yes, milady?"

"What kind of magic can Elven kind use?"

"Well as far as I know, Nature."

"Nature?"

"Yes, Elven have a connection to Nature as they reside in the great Eastern forests, convening with the forest and controlling the Magibeasts out that way."

"Ok, that makes sense!"

This, in fact, made no sense to Marie,

A few minutes later they get to the library, Marie sees that it was the exact door she was at when she got dragged off for dinner…

"Ok, thank you Zyune."

"Wait, wait, wait! This library is owned by the most powerful sorceress in the kingdom!"

"Then that's an even better reason!"

Marie walks through the door without Zyune, Zyune stayed back, Marie then calls out,

"Hello! Anybody there?"

Suddenly Marie hears a loud roar, Marie turns around to see a large purple Dragon in the rafters above her! Marie looks frightened,

"FOOL HOW DARE Y-"

"Eh?

"AHHHH!!!"

The Dragon scurries away and screams,

"WHAT ARE YOU?"

"Ummm… My name is Marie Van Zafforhoff…"

"THE PRINCESS, THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE THE PRINCESS, YOUR AURA IS IMPOSSIBLE!"

Suddenly the Purple Dragon shrinks down into a woman, a very Shrewd Woman, She looks at Marie in fear,

"Ah, This Magician's special talent is to see a portion of someone's mana emanating from them, she has seen a portion of your Mana which is near infinite." Ancre says.

"Ancre? So this is why she is in fear, also can I see my Mana?" Marie says,

"Are you sure? you could go blind or have immediate madness, unless you get proper training for it." Ancre responds.

"Okay, then just show me what she is seeing." Marie responds,

"I can do that." Ancre says

Suddenly sees the Dragon-woman's magic which is great and looks like a Purple flare surrounding the woman, then Ancre says,

"Oh wait, you wanted to see your own Mana! There is a mirror to your left."

Marie turns to see the mirror, what she sees is a great majestic flame of multiple colors combined with a majority of a Golden color. It looks Great even greater than the Dragon-Woman's magic! Marie's aura looks like an Inferno that can consume the Woman's aura if it got any closer.

"Ehhhhhh?!?!"

Marie then bows her head and says,

"I'm so sorry for scaring you, but I need something."

The Shrewd Woman calms down and says,

"What do you need my lady?"

"I want to learn basic magic."

"Magic, you seem to have an affinity for it but the problem is…"

"What is it?"

"You seem to have an affinity for magic as a whole."

"Eh?"

"Usually a human would have an affinity for a specific basic magic and you have all of them… Anyways, I would be delighted to teach you milady."

"Oh yeah, umm… What is your name?"

"Oh yes how rude of me, my name is Lady Reufina Doraq but you just call upon me by my nickname, Lady Reu."

"So I can be taught?"

"Yes it would be excellent to teach the first of the Zafforhoff's with actual magic and not Body refining magic."

"What?"

"The Zafforhoff family has always been able to use a specific magic where they fortify their body, but they are reserved about magic and other races, They have always been persecuting the race they perceive as the "Beastmen.""

"The Beastmen?"

"Yes they include most from the Main races, like the Neiko, the Fexai, and the Wihndi, but also a few undefined races like the Buni and the Minos. They also have heavy prejudice against the Kamien. They are neutral with the Dragonkin and they have high regards of the Elv."

"So what is so different about the races?"

"Well for one they have different life-spans, measured in Human life spans which measure a hundred years."

"Wait really?"

"Yes, and I believe I have a book about the life-spans about the different races."

Lady Reu then turns around and then searches her many bookshelves and then finally,

"Ah-ha! Here it is, 'The many Races of Fierildin'."

"Fierildin?"

"Fierildin? Our World? I knew you had a terrible loss of memory, but I didn't know it would be that bad."

"Sorry, I just need a quick jumpstart."

"So anyways… each race actually has a different life-span…"

Reufina then explains how there are 9 main races in the world along with 9 Undescribed races and then many Humanoid monster races.

"The Nine Races are The Neiko, The Fexai, The Dragonkin, The Devilkin, The Humans, The Elv, The Dwarv, The Wihndi, and The Kamien."

"Ok. So What are more of their differences?

"They have different life-spans, like I said, special magics, and forms."

"Special magics?"

"Yes, after the Ultimate Demon Lord was defeated hundreds of years ago by a Hero and the revolting Devilkin."

Lady Reu goes to her library and pulls out a book titled 'The Hero Ceran' and begins reading,

"The great hero Ceran with help from the Humans, Dragons, Devilkin, and the Beastman defeated the Ultimate Demon Lord Dien. After the defeat of the Ultimate Demon Lord Dien, the magic of the Demon Lord was too great, therefore the power was split nine ways between what are now known as the 9 Lord Races."

"Seems really awesome!"

"Well this was most likely a story book to explain the powers of the races to younger children."

"I see... "

"Ok Marie! I will teach you the power available to you!"

"Really!"

"Yes!"
