A month went by but it barely felt like a week to Cloe, the days had once again fallen into a steady routine. Before dawn, she was up and it wasn't because she wanted it that way, it was an unspoken goal she made. Most of the morning was spent out by the oasis meditating and then when the sun was high above them they retreated inside to eat followed by swimming lessons in the pool, she had gotten quite good at swimming and had good control over her water techniques, yet with all the progress they had made within such a short period of time, there was still a tense uneasiness looming over them.
And it wasn't just between them, she sensed it in the tension of the guards' faces, they seemed to be patrolling the grounds more often now. She knew the cause of this tension they all felt. The portal had faded, even more, she wasn't told this outright but she saw it in his slight restlessness when they train, They were all on edge worrying about what was to come.
