The youngest Badmus groans as she slowly awakens. The rest of the family plus Dolapo and her friends were by her bedside; watching her.
The moment she sees both her mother and Ebun however, something within her shatters as memories of the past couple hours begin to flood her mind.
"W-Why are they here?" She then points at both her mother and Ebun who had confused looks on their faces.
"Feyi don't you recognize them? They are your fam-"
"THEY ARE NOT FAMILY!!! I DO NOT KNOW THEM!!" she shouts. The entire room is taken aback by her utterance.
"Maybe she is still tired." says Ebun. But deep down, she was rejoicing. Yes. Let the world see Feyi for the incompetent, lazy, psychotic trash that she is.
"I AM NOT TIRED PLUS YOUR PRESENCE IS NOT WANTED HERE YOU BITCH!!" Feyi yells. "How dare you speak to your sister that way?!" says Mrs Badmus.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP OLD HAG!! ALL OF YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!! GET OUT!!" Without hesitation, the entire family walks out, leaving a depressed Feyi to lie back down on her bed, tears flowing down her eyes.
"Why did she react that way?! She is supposed to be happy for me!!' says Ebun. "Maybe she is still shocked because well....she actually liked Dolapo." says Ireti. "And so?! That does not excuse her disrespectful behavior!!"
Later that day, Ebun was back in her room, pacing around. "My biggest mistake was letting you stay here. I shall not kill you for the sake of a certain someone. However, I shall destroy you no less."
Ebun then reaches underneath her pillow and pulls out a magic charm that was given to her by the herbalist to use in case of anything. She then mutters some Yoruba incantations before declaring:
"Feyisayo Esther Badmus. Today your light shall completely dim. That brain of yours that people like to praise shall completely shut off. Everything that belongs to you shall now completely be mine..."
The following morning, Sade goes into Feyi’s room to wake the girl up for breakfast. Upon walking into the room, she notices Feyi seated on the bed and staring into space.
“Feyi. Come on. Snap out of it.” She says only to get no response from the girl. She then gently shakes the girl and no response.
“Ah!! God have mercy on us in this house oh!!”
At that moment, the rest of the family walk in. “What’s wrong?” Sade does not speak and instead points at her younger sister who is completely zoned out.
Ireti walks over to the girl and waves a hand over her eyes to see if she would respond. The youngest Badmus remains put, not moving an inch. She then places a hand over the pulse to see if she can feel something.
“She must be really shocked about yesterday because her pulse seems normal meaning that her brain must have shut down completely.”
“Let us get her to the hospital.” says Mrs Badmus. Sade as usual lifts her up and takes her to the car.
Hours later, they arrive at the hospital and wait for the doctor’s verdict. “Why does Feyi keep on getting hurt like this eh?!” says Mrs Badmus.
The doctor soon joins them. “Any news doctor?” Sade asked. He sighed. “I am afraid that she will have to be transferred to the nearest psychiatric hospital.
“AH!!” Mrs Badmus then begins to break down in tears. “AH!! Aye mi oh!!! Why?!!!” Ireti hugs their mother as a way to try and comfort her.
