Chapter 11
From the top of the mountain the young woman named Matsuko watched as the helicopter moved away. When the soldiers emerged from the access road to the mountain top she had hidden herself, with the commitment made by Suzuki to his two companions not to reveal the presence of the young woman in the battle they had fought in Alamut.
When the aircraft was lost in the low clouds, the girl sighed. A flurry of memories from her childhood in Japan invaded her mind and she had to shake her head in an effort to push them away and cast aside the nostalgia that had rekindled her embrace in the ruins. Taro Suzuki was not only her sensei, he was also her father.
