The four kids sat down in the hall where there were other seats, some empty and some occupied.
Nervous would be understatement to describe these four kids. They were borderline terrified. The grand hall was… grand. Majestic and large, not even the town hall could compare to half its size. The pillars were quartz white and had a reflective sheen to it. The ceilings were so high one could wonder how they even managed to get it up there. Magicians, Lorraine thought.
"Hey," Evermore caught the attention of everyone. She was the most silent throughout the journey, "when, we graduate, how about we promise to stick with one another? We all came from the same village."
Just as she finished, she thought about how dumb she sounded and wanted to retract her statement if she could. Before embarrassment could engulf her and she would sit in a cave, Jacob replied.
"Yeah for sure! Makes sense!" he beamed her a bright smile.
That day, an inseparable friendship was made, and maybe even something more.
