CHAPTER 11

*Midnight*

"What is it that you gain out of what you do, Mr. Davis? What could you possibly gain by murdering a mass number of civilians? You're insane!" Bree exclaimed at the man standing before her eyes.

"You don't understand, child! These savages don't deserve to breathe the same air as us! They're poor! Poor people bring too much degradation to us! The people in the outside world will think so little of us. Do you rather have that than living proudly as a rich civilian of a rich county? " the man asked Bree before brutally cutting the woman in front of him into pieces.

"NO!" Bree exclaimed as she woke up, hyperventilating throughout the time that she was trying to figure out if it was a dream or reality. Not long before she bursted out in tears. She turned to her left to see Yeon fast asleep, sucking on his thumb like an infant. She caressed his hair, smiling at his innocence, before walking out of the room to the kitchen for a glass of water.

She sat on the kitchen counter while sipping from the glass as if she was drinking wine in the middle of the night. She was trying to remember the man's face. The man who she referred to as Mr. Davis in her dream. His voice was so familiar yet she couldn't make out his face. She was lost in her thoughts for quite some time. Out of nowhere, she heard a thud. A fade but noticeable thud. It was coming from her supplies closet.

"This better not be another mice invasion! Honestly, I'd rather be bitten by a black mamba than have to battle an army of mice again! " she said to herself, softly.

She reached out for the door knob of the closet. She was stunned at what she witnessed. It was bottles of insulin stacked up in her closet, only the insulin was different at each layer. There were roughly 28 different concentrations. Just as she was about to pick one up, she received a call. Lucky for her, she silenced her phone earlier that night. It was none other than the kidnapper. She sighed before picking up.

"It was you, wasn't it? " she questioned as soon as she answered.

"A nice hello wouldn't hurt now, would it? Didn't mommy and daddy teach you any manners? " he asked before answering her question with "-and yes. I didn't want to trouble you to come find me, so I did a personal delivery. So, how do you rate my unnoticed entry out of ten? " he chuckled to himself.

"Yes. My parents taught me to be friendly and have manners with people who deserve it. And I rate it a 5!" Bree smirked to herself.

"Now, Now! You still remember that I have what you love, don't you?" he laughed hysterically to himself.

"Sorry! I was in a terrible mood. Too much assignments to handle. Why did you get so many if I may ask? And where are the anesthetic meds that you purchased with my name? " she was curious.

"The anesthetic meds are in good hands. As for the insulin, it's for your latest task. You would really enjoy this one! Daniella Richard! The woman who was-" he couldn't finish as Bree cut him off with what shocked him.

"-released last Monday from the murder case of the Leslie twins because Mr. Leslie didn't want to press charges anymore. Why her? Why would I be glad to finish her off?" she was even more confused than when she found the insulin bottles.

"You might not know this, probably because the cops covered this one up too well. However, I have ears in the station and they gave me intel that forensics found hair strands in your mother's hand when they were doing an anatomy. I'm so sorry to say but your mother was strangled to death. Those hair strands, belong to none another than Daniella Richard! " he said in a convincing tone.

"What? " Bree was speechless and her eyes were dripping with tears like a broken faucet. "Are you sure? They told me my parents died in a plane crash!" she yelled out softly, trying not to wake Yeon up.

"I'm positive! Now, we don't have time! She is a dangerous woman. I've sent you her schedule. You know what to do! " he hung up before Bree could enquire more.

Is it really possible that the police have been lying to her and the press the whole time? Could she really trust this man who she doesn't even know? Just like these, Bree had many questions in her mind running wild. She couldn't seem to understand why someone would strangle an angel, who doesn't hurt an insect, to death. Just as she was winging out by the sink, she heard foot steps. She assumed it was Yeon. She quickly wiped her tears and turned on the faucet to pretend to be washing her hands.

"What are you doing up so late, little owl? Are you lost? " Yeon teased Bree's insomniac behavior.

"Just came down for a drink. I had a nightmare and I didn't want to wake you. I needed some fresh air anyway! " she exclaimed happily while having the biggest fake smile on her face.

"I've told you! Wake me up on these occasions, babe! I want to know and I want to help! " he looked dead serious. A small tear left Bree's left eye which made Yeon move in closer and pull her in for a hug. "No! No! I wasn't trying to scare you. I'm sorry! " he softened up.

Bree pulled away and gave him a soft smile indicating she was alright. They both were heading upstairs when they heard someone knocking the door. Bree rushed to open it. Just at the moment that she opened the door, she dropped down to her knees crying. It was the boys!

"Brad! Bryce! I was so worried! Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you're alright! " she pulled them in for a bear hug.

Yeon came rushing from the back while hugging all three of the Dallas kids from the back.
