The unexpected kiss!!
"What are you doing in the hospital Diamond?",her father asked getting quite worried.
"Um...actually I'm here for mum",she replied hesitantly.
"Why? What happened to her? And you're skipping your classes for her? You know..."
"Dad please...I'm not in the mood to talk right now! Her sit-situation is not good. She's been in coma since past 3 days and has just now only gained her consciousness",she said letting out a deep sigh.
"C-coma? How?"
"Actually Blake...I mean my step dad has beaten her brutally till she lost her conscious..."
There was a long moment of silence on the other end of the call till he finally replied Oh.
"Um...Dad I'll talk to you later!!"
"Hm...take care Sweety", saying this he instantly hung up the call.

"I-I'm so sorry honey!",her mum apologized in a heart wrenching tone, taking her right hand in her own.
"Oh you're awake! I thought you were sleeping profoundly...",she replied rather coldly in a tone void of any sort of emotions; removing her hand from her hold.
"Please forgive me for my sins Diamond! Bec-Because of me you had to suffer a lot in the past",she sniffled.
"The damage once done to any object cannot be repaired back to it's original state, even if it is...it leaves ugly scars behind to remind you that it has gone through a lot in the past. Just like you're doings in the past has left ugly scars on my mind that still haunts me today",she replied staring straight into her mother's eyes as if she was trying to find some truthness behind her show of concern.
"I'm sorry my baby. I'm sorry that I was not there when you needed me the most. I should be but I was busy in nourishing my selfish dreams...Please forgive your mother...please!",she said breaking into tears.
"Don't worry mum I'll forgive you not because you deserve it but because I cannot live with this burden forever. Here is your packed lunch; please enjoy. I'll visit you in the evening to get you discharged",she replied rather formally and left the ward immediately; leaving behind her mother who has become a crying mess.
As she left the ward, she slumped against the couch kept adjacent the wall and started crying bitterly till she started hiccuping...
Her healed scars were once again opened ruthlessly after the sudden appearance of a thing called mother in her life with whom she'd cut all her ties long ago...
"How could you be so heartless to abandon your own child like this? That too when my father was so much broken?How could you??",she mumbled in a low whisper in between her sobs...
After spending few minutes in the hospital, she decided to return to her apartment.

"So what next? We've already emptied the whole fridge!!"
"Um...Let's play Fortnite together!!"
"Sounds interesting but I've never played it before"
"Don't worry! I'll teach you",the voices drew the attention of Diamond who has just stepped inside her apartment. The voices were coming from her living room.
"What are you doing Brian??",she yelled over Brian whose attention was solely on the screen in front of him.
"Oh! Hi sis...just playing a video game",he replied turning his attention towards her for a split second and immediately again switched his entire attention on the screen.
"That I can see but with whom? You don't need to be all friendly with this guy!!",she said glaring at Brian.
"Why miss Nerd? What's your problem,huh? If he's playing with me with his own interest than who are you to interrupt!!!", he scoffed plastering an evil smirk on his face while walking in her direction.
"The problem is that he's hanging out with a person like you...",she said gritting her teeth; getting utterly frustrated by his sly smirk.
"Huh? Person like me? Atleast I'm not a greedy bitch like you",he whispered in a subdued tone, stepping closer to her so that Brian cannot listen up their conversation.
His tongue was no doubt sharp as knife that has once again shattered her self respect...She was mentally exhausted so she didn't said anything or argued any further and swiftly turned towards her room. He also got back to playing his favourite video game...
***In the Evening***
"You lied to me karen!! You told me that you fractured your ankle this morning that's why I came here to see you but it's a whole different scene here", Diamond huffed anxiously; glaring at karen who was busy in applying concealer all over her face.
"Look Diamond! I'm not at all guilty for lying to you",she responded shrugging her shoulders while looking at Diamond through the mirror.
"Really?? You're impossible! I'm going back to my apartment...",she replied and turned to leave but karen held her wrist tightly.
"Leave me karen!",she glared at karen but she didn't said anything and just shook her head in negative...
"I won't ever talk to you if you left today",she said pouting her lips that were painted in deep red Matt lipstick.
"Oh really!! Then don't talk but just leave my hand",she replied yanking her wrist forcefully from her grip.
"So you'll leave your friend even on her birthday today?",she asked making a sad face while Diamond was utterly shocked...

"Don't you think it looks a bit extra for a birthday party??",she asked looking at her Spaghetti strap glittery black square neck gown in the mirror that karen had brought for her to wear tonight in the event.
"You look gorgeous Diamond! Now stop complaining!! Your brown silky locks will trap many men's heart today...",karen winked at Diamond to which she simply rolled her eyes...
They both headed downstairs towards Karen's lavishly decorated garden where the music was in full blast.
"Happy birthday baby!!!",a tall guy with platinum white hair approached her and giving her a side hug,he kissed her on her lips while karen too kissed the guy quite passionately...
"Diamond, This is Eric! My fiance...and Eric she's Diamond, my best friend!!",she exclaimed quite enthusiastically while holding his hand.
"Nice to meet you Eric!", Diamond replied stretching out her hand for a formal handshake but Eric held her hand and bringing it near his lips, he landed a peck there.
"Nice to meet you too. By the way, you're looking really beautiful!",he replied but as soon as he looked at karen, he quickly added "But less than my fiancee"...
Karen and Diamond both bursted out laughing. After a while of light chit-chatting, Diamond excused herself from the scene.
She kept strolling in the garden with her mix fruit cocktail when her eyes finally got settled on a couple, kissing each other too passionately with the girl sitting on the lap of the guy and her wavy long blonde hair was covering both of their faces...
"Hey Diamond! You're looking too exquisite in this dress,"a voice interuppted from behind causing her attention to divert from the couple and got focussed on the person calling her from behind...
"Thank you Chris!!",she replied smiling politely at him.
"Um...If you don't mind, can we have a dance?",he asked hoping her to say yes and she hummed in response. He happily took her hand in his and lead her among the tipsy crowd who were fully drown in the alcohol and music.
He held her by her waist and brought her closure to his body. She too placed her hand on his shoulders and both started moving in sync with the rythm of the music...
