Rachael was discharged from hospital the next morning. She hadn't sustained many injuries, and the injuries she had sustained were minor and barely an inconvenience for her. So now she was sitting on the couch in the living room, several small scratches and bruises on her face as she watched The Matrix: Reloaded. "You know, I've managed to copy this style of fighting," she was saying as Neo battled the three Agents at the start, and Nicola nodded as she sat next to her on one side, Mikayla sitting on the other side, both of them nodding. Darcy leant against the kitchen counter in the next room, his head bowed. So were Jacob, Vivian, Vironica, Luke, Sienna and Chloe. "What are we going to do?" whispered Vironica, her voice strained from the hours of crying. "We need a funeral…of course…but we shouldn't for now," Darcy responded quietly, and the others looked to him, surprised.

"Why not now?" asked Chloe, and Darcy shrugged. "We just can't. The police are going to be around for a couple days asking questions. It's just how they do things. But we can't be doing funerals while they're doing an investigation. The only thing that will happen at a funeral is we'll all be too upset to answer any of their questions and it won't help anyone if we can't track down the one who did this!" Jacob slowly nodded when Darcy finished, but did not look any of them in the eyes. "Imagine the impact this is having on Danny," Vivian whispered, "He lost his sister on her birthday…He must be so upset!" The others agreed, but they fell into silence once again. "We'll check in on Danny when…when we have a lead on this," Jacob murmured, and the others nodded as one.

Chloe was typing on her phone, and then groaned. "Look at this!" she insisted, a disgusted expression on her face as she thrust the phone onto the counter so the rest of them could see. It was yet another news report, although this time it showed the outside of a house that had the door damaged and one of its windows smashed. The headline read: KILLER STRIKES AGAIN. Sienna sighed, "Again? We need to find a way to catch this maniac!" Darcy nodded in agreement but didn't say anything. They didn't hear the front door open, or the footsteps that were behind them until they came to a sudden halt. "What's that?" asked a familiar voice, and they spun to find Danny leaning against the wall, an expression of both shock and sadness lingering on his features. "Danny…" Chloe began, but Danny waved her off impatiently.

"I know what you were all saying, even if I didn't hear the exact words. I know you want to find this guy…but I don't think it's going to happen," Danny muttered, and Jacob stared at him, a quizzical look in his eyes. "What aren't you telling us?" he asked, and Danny paled. "Nothing!" he insisted, looking around at them all, "I just think we should call off the search!" Now Jacob straightened, never taking his eyes from Danny. "Funny…I thought you would be the most determined to find this guy, considering it was your blood sister who got slashed." An expression of fury infected Danny's face, and before anyone could do anything, he lunged forward, his right fist streaking toward Jacob. The others held their breath in anticipation, expecting the shout of pain from Jacob. It never came. Jacob moved at the last second, and Danny smashed against the counter.

"Too slow," Jacob growled, and Danny spun towards him, his teeth bared. "Jacob…what on earth do you think you're doing. You never look for fights!" Sienna shouted, but Jacob ignored her, his attention focused onto Danny. "Let's go then!" Danny hissed, and he approached, fists raised. Jacob ducked as Danny threw a punch, and then rolled behind him, kicking out as he went. The blow caught Danny in the back, and he stumbled forward as Jacob rose to his feet, the two turning once again to face each other. Danny ran forward again, and this time he jumped up and kicked. The foot landed against Jacob's chest, and he staggered back against the counter. Danny was there before he had time to recover and threw a fist forward. It struck against the side of Jacob's head, and Jacob winced in pain, dazed from the sudden attack.

Danny then struck upward, a perfect uppercut to Jacob's chin. Blood burst from Jacob's mouth, and Danny threw his right fist yet again. Jacob reached forward and blocked the blow with his arm, then spinning Danny to face the opposite way and twisting his arm into an armlock. Before Jacob could get a firm grip, Danny doubled over, sending Jacob toppling over his back. Jacob hit the floor, and Danny was atop him, punching down furiously, his fists pale streaks as they collided with Jacob's face. Darcy reached forward, grabbed Danny around the waist and hauled him back. Danny struggled, attempting to break free to charge at Jacob again, but Darcy's grip was firm and unrelenting. "Let me go!" Danny shouted, and Darcy turned to slam him against the wall. "Get…out," he hissed, and Danny shoved him back, but did as requested.

He turned to glare at them all one last time before stalking out, the door slamming shut behind him. Rachael ran into the room, Nicola and Mikayla right behind her. "We heard banging. What's wrong?" asked Nicola, and then her eyes fell onto Jacob, who was sprawled onto the floor, Sienna crouched over him. "What were you thinking," Chloe hissed as Sienna assisted Jacob to his feet. "I needed…to get something…he wasn't going…to give us," Jacob panted, wiping the blood that ran down his chin with the back of his hand. Rachael arched an eyebrow, and Jacob splayed out his left hand, where a card lay rested on his palm. "Is that?" whispered Darcy as he turned back to them, and Jacob nodded. "The key card to the back of Trinity. I knew he was a special member, and I assumed he at least had one key in his wallet. So, when I had his arm behind his back, I just grabbed it."

Vivian groaned. "He's going to murder you when he finds out!" Jacob chucked, and shook his head. "By the time he finds out, it will be too late," Jacob said, and Darcy chuckled before patting Jacob on the back. "Why do we want to get into Trinity?" asked Vironica, and Jacob looked up at her, once again trying to wipe the blood from his mouth. "So that we can check their security footage. I have a feeling there is something we have missed. I may be wrong, but it's worth the check." Slowly, the rest nodded, and Rachael grinned. "Breaking into a place…I like the sound of that," she said, chuckling, but Jacob shook his head. "Absolutely not. You're not coming. We can't all go, it would look too suspicious, and you've just come out of hospital." Rachael opened her mouth to respond, but Chloe placed a soft but firm hand onto her shoulder.

"I agree with Jacob. We can't all go. We'll decide who goes, but you need to rest." The last word was not a suggestion, it was a command. Rachael looked around the group desperately, but when no one came to her aid, she sighed, turned and marched away. "Let her be…she's been through a lot," Mikayla said when Nicola turned to follow, and slowly Nicola nodded and halted. "So, who goes?" asked Chloe, and Jacob looked around at them all, slowly judging. Then…he pointed at himself. "I will go," he murmured, then changing the direction of his finger to slowly jab at three others. Chloe, Vironica and Darcy. "Us four will go, the rest stay here and wait for us to get back," Jacob instructed. "Why do you get to go?" shot Vivian, a confused expression on her face. "Because the rest of you are still training when it comes to fighting, and I do know karate. I just can't have anyone else being hurt on this one.

"Darcy is larger than us and more intelligent. He can call the shots mostly. I'm good at fighting, so I can keep some guards off our backs, but only if its needed. Vironica is good at sneaking around, I've never caught her when she sneaks into the kitchen in the middle of the night, but I know it's her. And Chloe is, well, Chloe. She's protective of us all and you know how good she is at talking her way out of anything. Us four will see what we can get." No one seemed to argue with Jacob's logic, or no one seemingly wanted to, and Jacob took that as a sign of agreement. "Right. We leave in about…an hour. That way it should be closed when we arrive because it's Sunday, so it closes in half an hour. We get there half an hour later, when everyone has gone home, and get in."

No one answered, and Jacob turned before stalking out the room, still wiping his bloody mouth. "What the fuck has gotten into him?" whispered Nicola as they stared after him, and Rachael sighed. "He's in grief. He doesn't know what to do…so he's doing everything he can to catch the killer," she said as Jacob disappeared around the corner. "So, him fighting Danny wasn't only his plan to get the card," Vironica whispered, and Rachael nodded. "It wasn't just him getting the card. His way of venting frustration and pent-up anger is talking to us…but also fighting. Tonight was too much for him."
