Fanfic #71 an infinity between you and me by Anonymous(MHAXJujustu)

This fanfic is a crossover between my hero academia and jujutsu Kaisen with Gojo from Jujustuin the world of mha. I know that it sounds like this is a basic curb stomp story, but it's actually interesting and fun. There are also in world effects that make sense and Gojo isn't invincible and has an actual goal.

Synopsis: Satoru only has two eyes but it feels like he's got six. The doctor says he's blessed to have a one in a billion quirk, but there's a part of Satoru that knows he's only got a fifth of a whole. or The Prison Realm drops Gojo Satoru into the BNHA-verse and that changes things.

Here's the first chapter:

1.

The Prison Realm is a funny thing — an inescapable pocket dimension. And yet, anyone who's ever gone in has never gone out. How is it that an outsider can tell what is on the inside? Maybe it's because of the loss of cursed energy, but is it really a loss if it simply goes somewhere else?

So here's what it is — an unavoidable portal. The rumours are partially true, it does feed on cursed energy. It moves it all into this portal and somehow what was inside is outside but not outside. The outside's a totally different outside from the outside of before, and what was inside comes out not exactly as it was before either. But most of the time the prisoner loses all cursed energy and dies before they could get to that point. But then again most of the time the prisoner isn't Gojo Satoru.

So here's what happens — in a hospital somewhere in Japan but not Japan, a baby comes to the world, crying and screaming with bright blue all-seeing eyes, and the Prison Realm in the pocket of a man in Japan but not Japan stays unchanged.

2.

Satoru is young and everything is wrong. It's in the way his parents are there and present and everything parents are not. He keeps expecting to turn around and see his father in a kimono, but he blinks and he's just wearing a suit. His mom is always there and caring and she gives him sweets whenever he asks. He thinks this isn't how parents are supposed to be, but he hasn't had any other before them so how should he know.

It's wrong when he walks and for some reason, he always expects to cover twice the distance his tiny legs can reach. It's wrong when he can answer all the questions his teachers ask him during science and math, but he can never understand what's going on in history. He'll see someone on the street with a mutation quirk and part of him screams, telling him to expel it. Just wrong wrong wrong.

The air is off too. Satoru keeps waiting to see something but he doesn't know what. He turns around to look but it always just turns up empty. The world is filled with colour but something is missing. It's so wrong but for the love of him Satoru can not point out what.

3.

Satoru is four when everything starts getting sharp. It's like he's got eyes on the back of his head, on the sides of his face. There's a 360 camera in his brain with him at the centre and he probably should be too overwhelmed but it feels right in a way things rarely do. Wherever he looks it's not that he's seeing something with too much clarity, but rather, he's seeing too much of everything. Those threads in that woman's jacket are fraying, and if he looks closer he could see the bonds holding it together. The man with greying hair behind him has something nasty in his lungs and it's spreading. The water molecules in the air are a bit too slow and he can tell it's going to rain soon. He's pretty sure if he focuses enough, he can mess with the energy around to do things. He's feeling all of this at once and his only moment of reprieve is when he blinks, and when he opens it starts all over. But Satoru is four, and he enjoys it the way a four-year-old enjoys things.

(Satoru only has two eyes but it feels like he's got six. There's something in him that loves it, the familiarity of it all, but there's also a part of him that knows he's only got a fifth of a whole.)

He's five when he doesn't want to have to deal with his technique anymore. (No one else calls it that but it feels right). Living with it for a year and not telling his parents was a bit tiring. It's nothing exhausting but he'd rather focus on playing with the kids in the park than what that delinquent is smoking 20 feet away. Closing his eyes to shut it off has stopped working, so he decides to wear bandages to cover them instead. It dulls it down a notch, but the awareness of everything is still there. At first, his parents laugh and call him cute, but when he starts walking around the house and jumping down the stairs with them, they start to get worried.

They bring him to a quirk doctor the next day. His mom's got a quirk that lets her make mini blasts of warm air in her hands, and his dad can copy anything he sees with astounding accuracy. So when the quirk doctor says Satoru's quirk is neither of the two, everyone takes a pause. The doctor says it's a one in a billion mutation to have gotten the quirk he has, but really Satoru knows it's more of one in a trillion. Part of him whispers how wrong it is though, for his eyes to be called a quirk. Technique, he longs to call it, but he falls asleep in the car before he has the chance.

On the quirk registry, his quirk's called Omniscience — the ability to see everything, but Satoru knows it's more than that.

4.

Today's a rare day where Satoru isn't wearing the blindfold, instead, he's got on small blackout glasses that are low on his nose. He's pretty sure his parents think they birthed a genius because he finishes all his assignments on record time and he overheard them saying how they're gonna sign him up for even more classes. It's not his fault that he just knows everything and he doesn't want to waste time answering arithmetic when there's television.

The hero looks like someone out of a comic, with ridiculous muscles and weirdly dramatic shadows across his face? It's definitely a memorable one, and Satoru's sure he's seen his face on his classmate's backpack the other day. He's up against a ton of villains and there's loads of smoke everywhere. All in all, it makes for a very destructive fight with tons of collateral damage.

Satoru's dad tsks, "All Might's a great hero, but his punches are way too strong for the city." The camera pans to rubble on fire.

"All Might?" Satoru repeats as he watches the hero do a Texas Smash. Are they even alive?

"He's the number one hero Satoru, the strongest hero out there." His dad tells him.

I can do better, Satoru thinks. And because he's right, he says that out loud and his dad laughs. "Sure, of course, you're going to be the number one hero one day but only if you eat all your vegetables." Satoru pouts and gets his hair ruffled.

5.

Now he's six and he's walking around the city in his cute school uniform with his mom holding his hand. Sometimes he gets flashes of a past he doesn't have and servants walking behind him, but he blinks and it's just his mom. He's been getting those flashes quite a lot recently that he's started to piece together an edge of something, but he has too few pieces to get the whole picture. But anyways — he kind of wants to go to that new candy store a few blocks from the school that his mom promised to go to so he throws that puzzle out the window for another day.

"Satoru, only one pack," his mom tells him when she catches sight of him holding eight packs of lollipops.

Satoru knows he's adorable, even with the blindfold, so he pouts and whines, "Pleaseeeee" in that cute way he knows his mom loves, "I promise to clean the dishes!" He's abusing his cuteness but this is the childhood he's never had (this is his only childhood, what is he thinking?), he's going to milk it for all that it's worth.

"Satoru," his mom says with a tone of finality. Just as Satoru's about to beg again with the promise of eating his vegetables, he feels it.

Hero versus villain fights are something that happens every day and yet this is the first time he's gonna get caught up in one, at least in this life. Satoru's eyes tell him that there's someone growing roots out of their body and those roots are wrapping around the building a block over. Someone else is chasing after them but in doing so, buildings are getting smashed.

And there's a slab of concrete flying to the store, mom's back is at the window and she's going to be the first thing that's hit after the glass shatters. What is with heroes and property damage, he thinks.

Next thing he knows the stress gets to him and part of him panics and reaches down. He's puzzling pieces together faster than ever and it's like a gate opens. Memories flood through him. Clan elders teaching him that's he's the chosen one. A girl that should be hanging out with her friends but instead has to worry about her death. A kid with a heart too big stepping up for an execution. In less than a blink of an eye, Satoru's suddenly 28 (or is it 34?) in his six year old body, and he pulls down his blindfold.

One-half, one-fourth, one-eighth — Achilles and the tortoise he told a cursed spirit, an infinity between that concrete and the glass. Cursed energy is just energy when it comes down to it, and Satoru's had a lifetime's worth of manipulating it. The energy in this universe responds just as easily as it did in the other. That concrete is not going to move unless Satoru wants it to move.

But Satoru is also a six-year-old that's also a twenty eight year old and he wants his candy, so the concrete drops instead of staying in midair. He turns his face to his mom, a bit more tired than he usually is, but not enough that he wants to run a reverse technique in the back of his head indefinitely. No, that can be for another time.

And because he's a little shit, he pouts again, "Mommy please I just saved the candy shop!" Abuse the cuteness.

His mom's a bit too shocked with her six-year-old's rather impressive display of power and she says, "Okay... you can have two." Satoru cheers, and he didn't even have to talk about the vegetables.

6.

After the candy store fiasco, they visit the quirk doctor again. Satoru spills the beans. Yes, he can see a bit more than last visit. No, he just didn't want to worry you, mom. Yes, he did eat all ten of the cupcakes last night — sorry mom, I promise I'll brush my teeth extra hard later. (The last question was answered when the doctor decided to check his mouth and saw a bit of chocolate stuck on the back of his teeth.)

Okay, rephrase, Satoru spills half of the beans. He's keeping the whole jujutsu sorcerer thing under wraps until the indefinite future. His parents would freak if they found out about the stabbing and the near death instances, plus they might stop giving him candy and that's a definite no.

Ever since that day, he's been theorizing as to how he got here. So far he's between two choices: first is that he died in the Prison Realm, and reincarnated, but for some reason, he gets to keep his memories and his technique. Or two: the Prison Realm is a gate and not a prison and it dropped him into this world.

(He hopes it's the second because that means there's a chance to go back and see all his cute little students and fix whatever the fuck that spirit did to his best friend. He also hopes it's the first because here there is no pressure as the strongest, no one expects him to fix everything by himself.)

The quirk registry updates his quirk from Omniscience to Omnipotence. Satoru likes how that sounds because he's Gojo Satoru, the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer alive, of course his quirk is going to be as amazing as he is. He asks them to change it to Limitless though because while Omnipotence does sound awesome, Limitless is always going to be his (they say no).

7.

It turns out all worlds are the same in that they all want to fuck over Satoru's childhood. Like come on — let him live out his dreams of becoming a space engineer or candy entrepreneur or something. (He's seven, he has all the time he wants to plan out the future, he'll get there eventually.) The last time around he had everyone bowing to him because he was the 'chosen one' and he had responsibilities but right now he'd rather play video games on his dad's new computer.

With the update on his quirk, officials from the Hero Public Safety Commission come to town months later. One's dressed in a sharp suit with holes on the shoulders to accommodate horns and she's got a heavy briefcase on her arm. The other has dark shades and a boxy figure, there's a tazer in the back of his pocket alongside the keys to their car. Satoru names them Official 1 and Official 2 respectively. They knocked on their door a while ago and after showing their ID, Official 1 sweet-talked their way in.

That's how they ended up at the dining table, his parents on one side and the officials on the other. Satoru's off to the side in the kitchen, folding an origami dragon while pretending not to eavesdrop.

Their conversation is all official with tons of documents being read and lots and lots of posturing but in essence, this is what the officials said, "Your son has an innate talent that we believe could be useful for the future of society. Let us buy him for this much money so that we can make him our next pet project."

Maybe that wasn't exactly what Official 1 said, but Satoru stopped listening attentively when she dropped the figures because come on he's worth more than that. He's thinking add three extra zeroes to the end of that number and maybe they could afford at least ten minutes of his attention.

He also started thinking about this: what the hell is up with every universe he's ever been in and ruined childhoods? It's only happened to him twice but that's more than he's expected.

With a population as big as this Japan's, they've definitely approached other kids with 'innate talent'. It makes him almost want to do something about it. The darker part of him laughs and thinks he could probably kill off this Hero Commission and every villain in this country if he wanted to — it'd only take a day give or take if he put his head to it. It'd be problem solved for everyone. But then again, that's not going to stop anything in the long run, someone else is gonna take up the crown and the cycle's just going to repeat again. Reformation through education, he thinks. The situation hits too close to home for him and he shelves the idea for another day.

At the end of Official 1's speech, his parents share an uneasy look — as if they're reminded about the bills they left unpaid and Satoru's got an uneasy feeling in his gut that feels an awful lot like foreboding. He's reminded of a father that only wanted him for his eyes and a mother that was absent every day but the first. Of course, the smart choice would be to agree — what is he thinking? That amount of money may not be enough for Satoru's ego, but it is enough to keep paying grandma's hospital bills for two lifetimes.

"We agree that Satoru's got a brilliant quirk," his mom trails off as she looks to the side and catches Satoru's blindfolded gaze, "...but as his parent, I don't think our child is ready for something like this."

And suddenly Satoru's gut twists. Forget everything he has ever said about his parents, he doesn't deserve them. Now he feels guilty for even thinking they'd sign him up for this. Now he feels guilty for not saying yes because he's in a position to help and what good is having this technique or quirk if he's not going to use it to help the people he loves. Suddenly, he remembers a conversation he had a lifetime ago with his best friend before stitches came to his head.

The official smiles as if she can sense Satoru's indecision, "Of course, please consider our offer," they stand up in sync and Official 2 pulls a card out from his breast pocket, "If you wish to change your mind, do not hesitate to contact us. Have a good day." He hands the card to his dad and they're out of the house.

Satoru's dad slouches as if a burden's on his shoulders. Satoru hasn't been paying attention since he's been living out the childhood he never had, but he realizes just how tired his dad is at that moment. His mom's got grey streaks in her hair and they're both not getting any younger. Yet here they are with an exit card and they still take the other way. Curse you universe for giving me amazing parents, he thinks to himself.

"Mom, dad," Satoru starts off, "Maybe we should think about it." He's the strongest after all, surely the strongest can deal with this.

8.

There's lots of negotiating with his parents (mostly his mom, dad just agrees with whatever she says) and the commission, it takes a few months to settle on something. His parents are so amazing that it hurts, why couldn't his first parents have been this considerate of him? He's also never expressed a want to be a hero, but hey first time for everything.

They manage to settle on this: they'll take half of the original offer (which is still enough to pay their bills for a lifetime) and Satoru trains with the hero commission every day after school. What's he's not doing is signing up to be the commission's dog that they can pull a leash on at any time — his parents get to put an end to it at the first sign of distress.

If you look at it, the deal's so in favour of the Gojo's that it feels like they're stealing from the commission. But then again, he hasn't seen his parents for more than an hour a day and he comes home tired in a way a seven-year-old shouldn't. They had him stretch out his eyes to see how far he can look, and he knows there's an easy way to make sure he doesn't get tired, but he doesn't want them to know that just yet.

It's still worth it though when he gets to visit his grandma because they were finally able to afford that medication she's needed. It's worth it when he gets to see his parents resting a bit easier than before.

In the middle of the night, Satoru thinks. Just because he's got a blindfold doesn't mean he's blind, he's not stupid either. He's Gojo Satoru. This deal is airtight, he's not going to be out of the commission's hands until he's at least 21. Even if his parents pull him out, that means going through all the legal forms and meetings with lawyers that cost extra money and would probably take months to figure out.

I've done this before, what's one more? He's reminded of children without childhoods in that teen with the red wings that walks down the corridor at the commission and that pink-haired boy with scars under his eyes. Satoru rubs his face. He's already got a shoe in the hero business, might as well go all out and fix the damn thing and save future generations the trouble. He's Gojo Satoru nothing is impossible for him.

Satoru curses himself as he rolls over in bed, forget the universe, the problem is him. He just loves to fuck himself over doesn't he?
