Fanfic #126 Worlds of Chaos by DTPhenom(OnePunchManXNaruto)

This fanfic is a crossover between One Punch Man and Naruto following Child Emperor in the word of Naruto. I really like this fic because it focuses on a character I've never really read about before and doesn't go the conventional route with them.

Synopsis: Child Emperor is thrown into a world run by overpowered ninjas and must find a way back home. Alright, no problem. Having to deal with all of the issues back home trickling into this world and causing absolute chaos? He got his work cut out for him. Handling a hyperactive blonde prankster with more tricks and secrets than what's good for him? He needs some serious help.

Here's the first chapter:

The screech of sirens pierced through the air as the streets shook and buckled with each distant collision. The windows of the skyscrapers were shattered and the roads below were littered with craters, abandoned cars, and broken bodies.

As one gets closer to the center of the city, the source of the collisions get louder and the vibrations and shakings become more powerful. The surrounding damage intensifies and the clangs of metal on metal becomes more pronounced.

In the middle of the carnage stands two large beasts, monsters as their kind are called, both cackling loudly as they maul their way through a ragtag group of fighters. One monster is a gigantic white rat with a large hulking frame, hands as big as heads and teeth as sharp as razors. In his claws grasps a wriggling man with wavy blonde hair, red shorts, and sandals- a typical surfer dude. Not far from him is a weaponized surfboard smashed into pieces. His frantic stabbing of the monster's arm only brought a more vicious smile as the cuts seemed to regenerate as fast as they were being made.

"Foolish humans! When will you learn!? I have endured countless cruel experiments leading me to develop superior strength, intelligence, and regeneration! I am Super Mouse!" The rat roared as he smashed the man into the pavement adding yet another crater as blood pooled around the body. "You are nothing!"

The other monster, a short hunched-over man with the shape and face of a beetle, repeatedly slashed away at the sword of a man in all black armor, pushing him further and further back. Once cornered near a wall the beetle-man raised one of his long gangly razor arms and slashed down, breaking the man's sword and cutting through the armor.

"These are the best the humans have to offer? Boss has truly gone senile to be so cautious." Gloated the insectoid, before hungrily looking at the two remaining fighters, all beaten and bruised. "Let's finish this already, we can then have fun with the rest of the city."

"Damn it all." Growled one of the standing fighters, a man with blonde jagged hair sporting a torn and bloodied suit and safety pins as earrings, of all things. "Yo Glasses, I thought you called in reinforcements!"

"I did that several minutes ago, Needle Star-san! They said an S-Class is on the way!" Shouted a rather average looking man with black hair and donning a green tracksuit and square glasses.

"Tsch. Having to be saved by one of those guys again. At this rate we won't make it to A-Class by next year!" Spat the man as he whirled a spiked metal ball attached to a chain around him and turned to the rat just about done pounding the living shit out of the poor C-class. "Come at me ya failed science fair project!"

"Won't matter much if we are dead..." Glasses sighed as he got into a fighting stance and faced towards the insectoid. Got to keep the monsters away from the civilians as long as possible until proper help arrives, even if it may cost him his life.

- A mile away -

"Please move out the way! Head to the nearest shelter!" A young voice was heard yelling across the city. Two pairs of metal spider-like legs bobbed and weaved through the streets, zooming in the opposite direction of the crowds of terrified civilians. In between the legs piloted a small boy with disheveled brown hair and wearing a light blue polo shirt, blue shorts, and red sneakers. In his mouth held an oversized lollipop and his amber eyes focused on the direction of the source of the chaos.

A young woman in business casual attire saw the boy dashing through the streets and pointed after woman. "An S-Class hero! We are saved!" She called out to those around her.

The boy was one of the most capable and yet the youngest hero in the world, ten year old S-Class Rank 5: Isamu, the Child Emperor.

As of right now he barely felt like a hero. Just fifteen minutes ago he was barely staying awake through yet another long afternoon of cram school when he received an urgent message from the Hero Association. It was abnormal for the association to ask for his reinforcements for a threat. While he very capable in combat when he has his gear, he is a far bigger asset to the organization in regards to research and development.

Combined with the fact that there are over fifty S and A Class heroes under him who are more than capable of handling most threats, Isamu rarely sees combat unless the situation was dire. The last threat reaching that level was two months ago when an alien ship completely vaporized a nearby city.

However, these past two weeks have been anything but normal. A massive surge of monster activity has been occurring in all major cities on the continent. In his particular city, the technological haven Y-City, the property damage and civilian deaths have been reaching record levels. It seems like every couple of days there is another group of monsters tearing apart a city center whereas before the surge it was rare to see an attack for months.

And even then, the damage done in this city pales in comparison to the chaos and unrest happening in several other major cities across the continent.

The cause of this sudden violent uptick? Completely unknown. Isamu is frustrated that the Hero Association has yet to send any teams out to investigate the situation but he is even more frustrated at himself. Being stuck juggling his school workload, research projects with the association, and maintenance of his various drones and equipment, he haven't had any time to figure things out for himself. To be the hero everyone says that he despite being forced to the sidelines during this crisis.

His musings were stopped as he spotted the source of the chaos. Only two of the ten heroes are still able to fight and they are currently being pummeled by the two monsters.

'A large mammal and an armored insectoid. Fairly easy to beat… though why is that mouse so familiar?'

Isamu shook his head as he landed on the pavement several meters behind the monsters, retracting the pairs of spider legs. "Glasses, Needle Star, good job handling the monsters. Take the rest of the heroes and vacate the premises."

The beasts stopped their assault and turned towards the voice, only to see a diminutive kid with a determined look on his face.

"Ha! This brat thinks he can take us on! You are nothing more than a fly compared to me!" Cackled the overgrown rat as he stepped towards the boy.

"Let me kill him. Knowing you, you would just punch everywhere around him and not smash a damn thing." The insectoid grumbled. Not a second later the monster became a blur, dashing forward with razor-sharp pincers out aimed at bisecting the boy…

Only to be immediately met with two long blades immediately protruding out of the backpack countering the insectoid as a third curved blade bended around the side gutting the insect.

"Seems like you weren't able to hit anything either." Isamu yawned as his blades thrusted forward, overpowering the insect and dicing it into countless pieces. He then turned towards the towering mouse. "From what I have heard, monsters have been working in pairs or groups, even if their powers or backgrounds are unrelated. Until recently this would be considered extremely unusual. Tell me what is going on and you will be captured instead of killed."

"You think a brat like you can order me around!?" Roared Super Mouse, slamming his claws into the pavement, carving out a large portion of the road and bringing it overhead. He threw the block at Child Emperor. "Die!"

The boy side jumped out of the way as the chunk crashed into the pavement only to squat down as a massive furry claw zoomed directly overhead. Several of the armaments immediately slashed across the arm inducing deep cuts across it.

The monster roared in pain as he swung his other arm around at the boy, trying to swat him like a gnat only to be met with a whirling circular blade bursting out from the backpack. The rat jumped back, grimacing in pain as his bleeding arms and stomach began stitching itself back together.

"Regeneration. These types are always fun to work with." Isamu muttered as he reached into his pocket and grabbed two small grey orbs and threw them around the monster's feet. A thick hazy smoke burst through the orbs and the vision around the rat became more and more limited.

"Damn brat! Quit playing with your toys so I can crush you already!" The rat roared. Swinging his beefy arms wildly around him breaking the road around him. "Once I get my claws on you I will… Gack!"

The monster's rambling was cut short as he felt several blades at once pierced through the still healing gut wound. Before he was able to swing his arm down at where he think the boy is, the blades swung outward, tearing open his stomach spilling out copious amounts of blood and guts.

The monster's roars of pain intensified as he felt a piercing, burning sensation in his guts. A darker smoke came out of his stomach as he looked down to see fire burning through his stomach.

Child Emperor watched the rat writhe from several meters away as he used an oversized fan to blow the smoke away to get a clear view of the beast. The fan, while pretty rudimentary, is surprisingly effective at clearing out poison clouds and other similar gasses.

"Youuuuu…" The rat groaned out, still trying to hold together his charcoaled innards.

"Internal wounds take significantly more time to heal up than external ones. More fatal too." Isamu called out. He still kept the extended edges of the blade and the flamethrower firmly pointed at the rat. "Why has there been a spike in monster attacks lately? It is far too frequent at select locations to just be spontaneous."

"Why… would I tell anything to a gnat like you?" The monster spat at, only to screech out in pain as the flamethrower, now pointed my upwards within its guts, dispersed more scalding pain throughout the animal.

"Well for one, you won't die as painful of a death." Although whatever happens after Dr. Boifoi gets a hand on you would undoubtedly be worse. Child Emperor mentally added as he stared down the beast. "Second, I am in a particularly bad mood and you are not helping. I can turn your body into one of the many civilians you have slaughtered, regeneration be damned."

'You damn brat…' Super Mouse thought as he grit his teeth against the pain. As much as he loathed to admit it, the kid got him trapped. While most of the wounds around his arms and claws have healed, his organs are not keeping up the regeneration as fast as they are being destroyed. He can't move without turning his guts into grilled gizzard. All civilians in a kilometer radius seem to be promptly evacuated so threatening to destroy the block is pointless.

Furthermore, the two previous heroes, who were momentarily distracted from the fight between him and the brat, are just about done picking up the last of their fallen comrades and are about to head off.

"If you don't start talking, I guess you'll leave me no choice." Child Emperor sighed, pressing a button on his pack which opened up the flamethrower yet again.

- Above the battlefield -

Unbeknownst to both of them, a small eyeball with pink wings floats slowly far above the area, spectating the situation. It looked disapprovingly at the rat as it screeched from the pain brought forth by the child's interrogation session.

'Hmm, at this rate Super Mouse might let something out before he perish.' The eyeball mused, shifting its gaze towards the child. 'S-Class, Child Emperor. Supposedly the smartest hero in the Hero Association aside from Metal Knight. Info getting out this early on would be troublesome...'

'Guess it can't be helped. The end has been delayed long enough anyways. Let's not waste any more time.'

Dark red flashed through the pupils of the floating eyeball as it focused on the area directly behind the defeated monster. In the span of a couple seconds, the space twisted and contorted on itself as a hole was formed in the air. The hole spun at an accelerated pace, growing larger in size.

The air pressure around the city block plummeted as the hole ripped Super Mouse out of the grasp of Child Emperor's hold and into the unknown. The boy used the extended reach of the blades to dig straight into the pavement to hold him from being sucked in as chunks of debris began flying at ferocious speeds towards the portal.

With each passing second the strength of the portal grew stronger, the wind being sucked in turned more ferocious, until his tools could no longer hold their grip. The pulling force of the portal ripped apart the arms as the boy flew into the hole, screaming along the way.

After a few seconds the portal snapped back shut, leaving an empty and wasted city center into silence.

The eyeball chuckled as it floated away. 'And so it begins.'

- In a dense forest far, far away -

It was a sunny, cloudless day among the forest. A slight breeze grazed through towering trees, swaying their countless leaves back and forth as the melodies of songbirds filled the air.

And then, as if a switch was flipped, everything stopped. The air stood still, the trees stopped their dance, and the songbirds ended their tunes. With the same brevity, the air around the forest stirred and grew stronger. Far above the canopy the sky distorted in on itself, twisting and churning into a whirlpool. The hole grew larger and larger until it filled a small portion of the sky. Flocks of birds flew away from the scene as the hole spits out a small boy from its depth.

Isamu wasn't sure how long he had been spinning in the void for. He had dipped out of consciousness soon after being sucked into that portal. The intense pulling force the hole contained made it considerably difficult to breathe.

The first thing he noticed when his brain returned to the land of the living was that he was no longer spinning around several times a second. He felt his body floating along a void, carried only by a breeze.

When he opened his eyes, brightness overwhelmed his senses. It took a couple seconds for the blinding light to turn into a blurry sea of blue and green. A whole lot of green which seemed to be moving closer and closer...

Hold up. Isamu focused his eyes. The sea of green looks a lot less liquid like and more like the top of trees. He also noticed that he was in fact, not floating.

He was falling.

That sure as hell jolted him awake. Isamu twisted his body so that his feet faced towards the ground and yanked a string on the strap of his backpack. The pack would turn into a jetpack so that he could control his landing and move to a safer spot.

Except when he gave the command, the backpack would not budge.

"It's broken? Why now!?" Child Emperor yelled as he pulled the string several times to no avail. His eyes widened as the treetops got closer at a dangerously fast pace. "Damn it!"

The boy fell screaming straight through the leaves, scraping his arms and legs across several branches which only slightly slowed his fall before crashing into the dirt.

Smoke from the backpack rose to the sky as its owner groaned, coughed and wheezed as he struggled to pick himself up. Part of his shirt and shorts were ripped as blood marked along various wounds in his body.

"Ughhh, I am definitely installing a parachute once I get home." Isamu pulled out a stick which had embedded itself into his shoulder during the fall and examined his body for any more intrusions. "If it wasn't for my conditioning I would probably be crippled, if not dead."

Once he was able to stand up properly he examined the area. His landing was near one of the several dozen towering trees filling the area. With the exception of a small clearing several meters away, he was deep inside an unknown forest.

"Seems that the portal sent me far away from a city. Effective strategy, even if I will be back in a couple hours." Isamu sighed as he took out a laptop from the only zipped section of his pack. "At least the two monsters are taken out. An airlift shouldn't be too far from here."

Turning on the computer, he is greeted with the friendly sight of a blue screen of death.

"Data corrupted. Most likely the portal's magnetic strength wiped out the hard drive." Isamu sighed in dissatisfaction. "If the computer is down like this, so is the phone, my pack and all of the drones in it…"

His abilities and utility has effectively been reduced to the bare minimum. Troublesome, but not all is lost. Isamu has been in rough situations before. From facing down monsters that could level entire cities to rapidly coordinating a defense system against an alien ship. What is navigating across out of a forest the old-fashioned way to an S-Class hero?

"Well, I got my work cut out for me this time. Kami, these next few weeks repairing everything are going to suck…" He finished analyzing the damage done to his backpack and took out the few remaining tools left that are not affected by such a wipe. Some rope, smoke orbs, a flash bomb, a lighter, and a short sword hidden in the side of the pack.

"These should at least get me through until I find a town." Isamu mused as he gazed into the sky. It appears to be close to noon. "Since there is a forest like this west of Z-City, if I head towards the sun long enough I might reach an establishment. Time to put some camping skills to use…"

Right as he was about to head off, his instincts screamed at him to turn left.

Child Emperor immediately turned and held his backpack up in front of him right as three shuriken stuck to it in rapid succession. He rolled backwards and stoop up on his feet. "Of course. Why would today ever give me a break?"

He glared towards where the attack came from to see two figures walking out from the bushes. One was a large, stocky man with a couple scars adorning his grizzled face. He wore a green flak jacket over a black trench coat and black pants. The top of his head was covered with a dark grey bandana with a metal plating knitted into it containing a symbol with a leaf although it looked to be slashed through with a knife.

The other figure was a shorter, thinner man with short and spiked brown hair, dark eyes, and a smirk etched into his face. He wore a green flak jacket on top of a blue long-sleeved top, a large red swirl adorning the back of the jacket and the sleeves of the top. He wore blue pants with white wrappings around the top of the right leg and blue bandana with the symbol of a leaf etched into the metal plate on top of the forehead. The symbol was also slashed through.

"Oooh, would you look at that. The boy actually survived that fall and has some reflexes. How curious." A sly voice purred from the shorter man, several shuriken lining the fingers of his hands as he eyed the boy. "Give us that backpack and you might live to see tomorrow."

Child Emperor glared at the ninja as he got into a stance with his blade. Dealing with criminals was nothing new to him, even if most of his abilities are currently very limited his physical capabilities should be more than enough for these types of threats. "Who are you? Why did you attack? I would assume you are aware that assaulting a registered hero is grounds for several years of prison at a minimum."

The shorter ninja snorted as his taller partner merely raised an eyebrow. "The fuck is he talking about?" A sword slid down from his sleeve and into his right hand. "Bah, doesn't matter. Been a while since I have gutted a brat for talking down an elder."

"Make this quick, Furuku. The longer we are here, the more likely we might get visitors. The sky opening a hole like that is bound to attract them..." The coat-wearing ninja muttered. Unlike his comrade the man didn't seem poised to fight, at least not outwardly, merely crossing his arms and staring impassively at the boy.

"Yeah yeah, calm your paranoid ass down, Zato. And as I said earlier, don't interfere!"

While the two men were talking, Isamu got a better look at them and their weapons.

'Ninjas. Normally this would be no problem under normal circumstances…' The boy slung his backpack over his back as he got into position with his sword. 'But their threat levels are unknown, can't hold back too much here…'

Just as he finished his thoughts, several shuriken whirled at him as the shorter ninja rushed towards him, sword drawn to pierce through the boy.

Isamu dashed to the side avoiding the projectiles, jumping up and flipping around a slash from the swordsman. He danced around several high speed slashes by the ninja before ducking under a slash dangerously close to decapitating him.

'He's fast… but still overextended.'

In one swift motion, Isamu sliced his blade across Furuku's stomach and turned around to deliver a solid kick to the gut, sending the ninja flying several feet.

"You damn brat." Furuku growled as he stood up from the blow. He then rapidly moved his fingers through several hand signs. "Blow up and die! Katon: Ember Clone!"

Two plumes of dark smoke burst in front of the ninja as four clones of the man appeared and then immediately dashed towards the boy.

'Oh, that's new.' Isamu mused as he got back into stance. He knew there were reports of skilled ninjas being able to construct afterimages due to their speed but never any mentions of clones.

Isamu backpedaled a couple times to gain some distance as he parried several slashes from two of the clones. Each time their swords hit his blade, scorching heat pressed towards him causing sweat to pour out of his body.

The clones swung their attacks wide with extensive power, leaving a good portion of their bodies open to a counterattack with each strike. What stops Isamu from using that opening is the temperature they gave off. It sporadically alternates between blazing intensity and moderate heat.

Unstable and volatile temperature changes. Red flag.

This left him only able to defend against attack the boy hero gets pushed away from the clearing and towards a group of trees. Child Emperor barely managed to turn his head to avoid a strike that would've pierced through his skull. He wasn't able to completely avoid it though as a searing pain pierced through a portion of his left cheek.

'Damn it. They might explode at any second! I need to split them up, but how!?'

As Isamu countered another lethal strike, two of the other clones dashed across the clearing curving on both sides towards the boy. The original Furuku rushed forward and weaved some more hand signs.

"You are dead, kid! Katon: Giant Fireball!"

A blazing ball of fire bursts through the ninja's mouth, scorching the earth underneath and following directly behind the clones.

'He plans to blow up all of them at once!' Isamu quickly glanced at the trees around him. There are some branches not too high up that he could reach. 'I need to time this just right…'

Right as the four clones thrusted forward, blades aimed at skewering the boy, Isamu mustered enough remaining strength into his legs to shoot himself upward towards a branch above.

As soon as one of the clones got hit by the massive fireball, it erupted into a ground-shaking explosion, igniting the other three clones and causing incandescent flames to spew forth several stories high.

Isamu's eyes widened in shock as roaring flames launched towards him. He pushed himself off the branch right as the tree became engulfed in fire. He didn't make it far enough to avoid it completely though, as the flames seared a portion of his calves. Isamu roared in pain as he crashed onto the ground below.

Flames jumped from tree to tree steadily turning the area into a hot and glowing hellscape. Smoke from the explosion covered portions of the ground below.

Isamu grit his teeth as he did his best to stand back up and ignore the searing burns on his legs. That ninja definitely saw him move away from the tree and doesn't seem likely to just walk away. Also, his target, he isn't nearly as injured and would thus catch up to him if he was to try running away from the scene.

'Not a lot of options left and none of them are good.' Isamu mused as he took out a couple smoke bombs from his pockets. 'But it is not like I have a choice...'

He moved towards the trunk of a nearby tree and threw a smoke orb at his feet, covering the area around him and mixing in with the smoke from the fire. A few seconds later he heard something land only a few feet away from him.

Isamu held his breath. The ninja was right there and given the fact that Isamu is still breathing, even only marginally due to the smoke, he doesn't know that he is in there.

"Where the hell did that brat go?" Furuku mused as he eyed the area for any small corpse or fleeing kid. He was sure he saw the brat jump away right before his clone fireball combo blew up that section of the forest. "Come out brat! You can't escape, just face your death head on!"

'You're right, I can't escape.' Child Emperor retrieved a flash bang from his pocket. 'But neither can you.'

Right as Furuku was about to jump to a tree to continue his search, a flash of intense light hit his eyes. Isamu jumped forward through the smoke appearing in front of the ninja at head level.

"Soccer Dribble!" Isamu unleashed a fury of kicks at the ninja's skull each with enough force to break a slab of 's brain rattled around his head enough times to render him unconscious once the boy landed on the ground.

Child Emperor wheezed as he stood a few feet away from the downed opponent. His legs still sent scalding signals to his brain whenever he took a step and the various cuts and bruises he has accumulated has certainly contributed to his faltering stamina.

'That last attack took a lot out of me. Don't know how much longer the adrenaline is going to last before I pass out.' Isamu mused as he glanced around at the fiery landscape. 'This wildfire may attract more… ninjas… oh no.'

There was another ninja at the beginning of the fight..

It took all but a second for Isamu to force himself out of the way as a massive figure slammed into the spot where he stood, cracking the grounds underneath his weight. With no wasted movement the man spun around and slammed his foot into the boy's stomach, sending him crashing into a nearby tree.

Isamu coughed out blood as he slid down the tree. The sweat from his brow clogged his vision but he could make out the bulkier ninja not walking towards him but to the downed ninja. He took out his sword and plunged it into Furuku's heart.

Child Emperor gaped. He knew there was no honor among criminals but even then they typically don't turn on each other until all is lost. "I-Isn't he your partner?"

Zato snorted. "Let's see, first he demanded to check out whatever dropped out of that portal despite being not far from a major village, demanded that I stay out of it, lost his temper over a brat, and caused a massive wildfire which will attract every patrol team for miles."

He pulled the sword out of the body and whipped it around to remove the blood. "He was a means to an end but now has proven to be more of a liability. Unfortunately for you kid, I can't risk you staying alive in case someone else comes." He performed a couple signs and then slammed his palms into the ground. "Doton: Earth Thorns."

The ground underneath Zato rumbled. Several spikes shot out from the ground heading straight for Isamu. He jumped out of the way of being skewered before having to immediately put his blade up to block a ferocious strike from the ninja. The strength of the strike sent him crashing into the ground to the side of the spikes.

Isamu rolled backwards, avoiding another earth-cracking stomp and then blocking another powerful strike from overhead. His arms strained to keep the sword from bisecting him and his legs cried out in pain as they struggled to handle the weight being pushed down on them.

One.

Zato lifted his sword up and swung down harder on the boy's sword. Isamu grit his teeth as his body is brought down deeper into the earth. He can't move, the force of the blow still holding his body in place.

Two.

A blue hue covered the ninja's sword, the metal turned grey and hardened as he delivered another forceful blow. At the point of impact, Isamu's sword began to crack.

'NO!'

Three.

"It's over." Zato swung down his sword, shattering the boy's blade into pieces. Isamu attempted to jump away but was grabbed by the ninja's burly hands and held up in the air. "For your age it is obvious you would've been a strong shinobi in a few years, and thus another enemy. Good thing your life ends here before it gives me trouble down the line."

"Y-you will regret this." Child Emperor grasped for air as he wacked his brain around for any solution to escape from the problem. Nothing. He was at the complete mercy of a man who would show none. He is as useless as his broken equipment. He knew his line of work was dangerous and that he would die at any point despite being a top hero. He wasn't sure if it was fortunate or not to not have any parents who would mourn over him but thinking about that is pointless now.

His vision faded to black as his eyes rolled backwards. He heard several thuds as he fell down towards the ground losing consciousness.

- Amidst the wildfire -

Hayate Gekko sighed as he finished sealing the bulky corpse of the missing-nin into the scroll. He had short brown hair covered in a blue bandana and dark colored eyes which rested upon the dark markings under his eyelids, evidence of nights of restless sleep. He, like the four other ninja around him, wore an attire very similar to the smaller missing nin except their forehead protectors didn't scratch off the symbol of the leaf.

Border patrols tend to be very uneventful and thus viewed as easy pay, something to pay the bills with until the next high-paying mission comes along. While there may be the occasional bandit group, hidden traps from previous wars, or even missing-nin, most of the time they can be handled with relative ease. Most days, the hardest part of the job is the report to be filled afterwards.

Sometimes, however, an anomaly occurs. Any shinobi with even a meager amount of experience know that anything out of the ordinary can and probably will kill you. These events can easily turn a time of peace and order into chaos and disaster if not handled correctly.

Which is why when Hayate saw the sky open a hole in itself and spit out a boy from his binoculars, he knew that whatever comes after will not be any good news. He also knew, however, that leaving such a thing alone could bring an even bigger disaster if not investigated.

This was greatly emphasized when explosions were heard near the site and a forest fire sprung up from nothing as his team got closer to ground zero. Hayate mentally prepared for anything from an S-Class missing-nin to a demon gone loose.

Fortunately, the situation didn't seem to extend to that level of extremity when his team got to the battlefield. What they did saw was definitely unexpected. A boy no older than ten who fought off two missing-nin, perhaps even killing one of them.

While the boy did eventually lose to the larger ninja, he held off them long enough so that the team could reach the location on time and take out Zato with some well-placed kunai to the spine and skull. Hayate had the medic heal the unconscious boy while the rest of his team secured the bodies and mitigated the fires from spreading further.

"Furuku Yoribe and Zato Akigiri, B-Rank and A-Rank missing-nin of Konoha accused of brokering confidential information, have been secured, sir!" A recently promoted chunin called out, who had finished sealing the shorter ninja's corpse into the scroll. "What should we do with the boy?"

Hayate glanced at the kid who was still unconscious but the medic has been able to reduce the bleeding across his body and the burns across his legs. Curiously enough, the backpack the child was wearing seems to still be in pristine condition despite the beating its owner has taken. That is some quality material some tailors and craftsmen would kill for.

"Once he is fit to talk, we will question him. Once we are certain he is not a threat, take him to the Konoha Hospital." Hayate ordered as his crew continued putting out the fire. He turned towards the medic. "Maeko, progress."

"Internal bleeding has been mitigated but several organs still require some more advanced care. Three broken ribs, second degree burns along the lower legs." Maeko answered as she continued molding her chakra around the boy. "Blood circulation is just about to be stable enough to allow for consciousness."

Hayate nodded as he put the scrolls away. He ordered the other ninja not involved with fire mitigation to watch over the area in case of another attack. A couple moments later the boy begins to stir and his eyes slowly lift open.

'Am I dead?' Child Emperor wondered as he felt a soft, soothing sensation covering through his legs and body. He slowly opened his eyes, his fading vision revealing a woman with long black hair crouched over him, her hands glowed green around his legs. 'A healing power? That is extremely rare and valuable…'

When his eyes caught the woman's uniform, for a second he became very alarmed. It was the same uniform the ninja wore and thus they are probably from the same village. However, she is not actively hurting him and her forehead protector has the leaf symbol but isn't crossed off. He looked around to see a couple more ninja wearing the same uniform spewing a massive amount of water from their mouths as well. He looked to his side to see a sleepless looking ninja staring down on him.

"Are you able to talk at the moment?" Hayate asked the boy, giving him a canteen of water. Isamu hesitated for a bit before he took a sip. He was dehydrated, tired, and didn't have enough strength to move yet. If they wanted to kill him they would've done so already.

"Y-yeah." Isamu huffed, drinking from the canteen. "Are you and the men who attacked me affiliated?"

Hayate shook his head. "They have broken ties with Konoha some time ago. They are considered dangerous criminals and we have orders to kill on sight. Good job on holding them off."

Isamu nodded but a frown crossed his face. He never heard of a Konoha in any records of known ninja villages. Could just be a codeword they are using to refer to one. That still doesn't explain their attire and headband symbol.

"Your body is quite resilient for your age." Maeko remarked as she moved towards mending the ribs enough so that they can be better handled. "It shows signs of years of intense physical conditioning. What's your name and where are you from?"

"Thanks, uh…"

"Maeko."

"Maeko-chan." Two let out a small laugh. "I am Isamu, but most people recognize me by my title Child Emperor. I am the head hero and researcher for Y-City."

Hayate and Maeko paused and looked at each other, both pretty much understanding that this situation just got exponentially more complicated. Head hero? Y-City?

"Head researcher, eh? I take it that you were the one that created the portal?" Hayate asked tentatively. Isamu shook his head.

"No, it occurred when I just about defeated a monster in the middle of the city." Isamu stated. "Unfortunately, I have no idea what caused it or how it sent me here. Space-time manipulation is still an extremely theoretical field and thus any specific questions on its mechanisms I can't answer for."

"Right." Hayate rubbed his chin as he eyed the boy. During most other times, such statements made by the boy would be more than enough to warrant a trip to a local Yamanaka. However, he himself would've never believed anyone who told him today he would see the sky rip open. He can already envision an hour long conversation with the Hokage about this. "We should get out of here, we can take you to a hospital in Konoha and continue this conversation another time. Are you able to travel on foot or do you need to be carried?"

Isamu grunted as he prodded himself and analyzed his body. The burning in his legs had been greatly reduced but still stings when he moved them. His insides hurt like hell when he got up but no longer immensely debilitating. That and he hated being carried by anything he didn't create himself."I can manage. Do you have a map? Preferably of the world and where we are?"

Hayate opened a pouch in his vest and tossed him a scroll. "There is no known map of the whole world but this one covers all of the Shinobi nations and then some. We are in the Land of Fire and we are near a main road south of Konoha."

No known map of the world? Shinobi Nations? Land of Fire? He got a feeling that the portal didn't just send him to some far off land.

The instant Isamu opened the scroll, his worst fears were confirmed. None of the landmasses nor the nations occupying them are recognizable.

He was sent into an entirely different world.
