Journey

Kuro thought it was unfortunate. If he didn't waste almost all of his money from spatial energy-blocking array, he could have hire guards.

Who knows, if he was lucky maybe he could even hire Leon—although he doubt that Leon is that free.

Sighing at the lack of his wealth, Kuro felt his shirt being tugged as he turned back to see the two person looking at him with earnest expression.

"Kuro~ take me too…"

"Me too! Me too!" With an expectant gaze, Korone and Okayu begged him.

"No." With an smile that remained the same as before—cold & calm, Kuro said.

"I don't want it! I don't want it! Take me with you too!" Korone threw a tantrum.

Meanwhile, the cat's eyes turned watery as she did her usual trick. "Are you leaving me forever…"

With a sad tone, Okayu succeeds on earning Kuro's guilt. However unfortunately, the trick don't work just this time.

a mental bulb lightened above Kuro's head, Kuro lowered himself as to match in with Okayu's height, he leaned forward.

Pushing forward both his index finger & middle finger to Okayu's forehead, Kuro smiled.

"Sorry Okayu. Maybe next time."

5/3 The night has passed as Kuro, right now was in the bar. Currently, he was paying for the tabs that 'shanks' looking-guy left on.

"Bye~"

Kuro responded back to her as he bid farewell as well.

"Are we ready?" Opening up the door to exit the bar, 'shanks' looking guy said Kuro like an NPC dialogue in the Yakuza before the big fights in main story.

"If you paid your foods, we wouldn't have been this late." Kuro reclaimed.

"Haha… my bad, my bad. I didn't have money." 'Shanks'-looking guy nervously laughed.

"Anyway, we are ready. By the way, what is your name? Is it Houshou Oujian or something?" Kuro finally asked

"Oh I am Houshou Oujia-… you knew haha! How did you know?" Oujian laughed over Kuro's desire to show-off.

"Read news, connect the dots, etc..." Kuro explained in a way that doesn't explain anything.

"Hmm~..." Oujian weren't also the one to pick-up on small things as he let it be.

Taking the second confirm, Kuro was finally ready. Carrying the backpack that he don't actually need, Oujian smiled at him.

"Let's go." Kuro finally said the words Oujian wanted the most.

"By the way, are your portal stable?" Oujian confirmed Kuro before going out.

"What do you mean by stables? Is portal something dangerous that it will reap you into pieces?"

"Yes, something similar."

"Hmm... I didn't know that." The first actual information Kuro didn't know.

Perhaps it's due to the spatial mage/espers' rarity, such books related to them weren't that many. So he didn't know whether using portal could be dangerous.

But that was of no matter to be worried for. Kuro... more like, Pekora's portal was of an extremely stable portal capable of teleporting the entire country without damaging anyone.

"You don't need to worry about the stableness." Kuro calmed down Oujian as he started opening up a clean portal in front of him.

"I've been thinking about it but how are these portal any different of spatial threads you throws out?" Ayame came in asking an important matters.

"Wait you could see the spatial threads? They're invisible..." Kuro muttered surprised as he nodded while creating the portal.

"Well since we're free, let me explains it."

Kuro's Genius Explanations:

Let's say the invisible/spatial threads is an trident from Minecraft. If you throw that out, it will obviously, travels faster than the players' walking/running speed.

By the way, you can also stick in the spatial threads to anything.

That's how the spatial threads works.(kinda)

Now the portals. Let's say portals, you dive your consciousness to... different dimensions. In terms of Minecraft, you enter the Nether Portal.

Then, you throw your tridents inside the Nether. The places the tridents lands is where the portals is created.

Now, because 1 blocks in Nether is 8 blocks in the real worlds, you can places your portals into something very far.

This is the reasons why the process of creating portals is longer than the spatial threads, and why you can create a portal on completely different sides of Virturan.

Oujian looked at Kuro seriously. "I see...

.

.

.

I don't understand anything."

"Me too but it seems complicated! Kuro is amazing!" Ayame genuinely praised Kuro.

"By the way, it is completed." Kuro said and it would be rude to let in the guest first so, he entered the portal first.

-----

"Arri~vederuci... That's a wrong meaning." Kuro lightly stepped out of the portal as he looked at the surrounding.

Contrasting from the Reign Empire which the cold wind turning hot, this place was as cold as ever, despite being spring, it was as cold as winter here.

Although it isn't as cold as for the snow to covers the ground, trees, leaves around, the passing cold wind could make regular humans shiver.

"Kuro, where is this?" Coming out of gate, Ayame in her human appearances, asked Kuro.

"I don't know. Somewhere in the wilderness, I guess?"

"What, we can't travel there in one go?" Just after Kuro finished his sentences, that Oujian finally came out of the portal.

"That's impossible... for now. First of all, I can only teleport between two points within 3,000km which is roughly 1,864 miles, and the distances it takes to lap Virturan once is around 4,300,000km."

"Which we are quite lucky as Reign Empire and Treasure Vantage is quite near, making the estimated distances about 1,500,000~2,000,000km."

"I can recover faster than averages and my spatial esper doesn't take tolls in my body that much so I can use portal around 10 times every days."

"Making it requires us at most 2 months to get to Treasure Vantage." Kuro continued.

"At most, because that is only by calculating I teleport 10 times a day and we remain stopped at the spot I teleported."

"If you want to travel faster, you can carry me and run 100,000km a day. (First of all, why was he in Reign Empire?)" Kuro thought inwardly.

"ha....haha... Let's just use my flying ship while you rest..." Oujian stuttered with his words nervously as he suggested his plan.

""You have flying ship!?!?"" This time, not only Kuro, but even Ayame looked at him with glimmering eyes of excite.

Not speaking of Kuro, although Ayame can do something similar to double-jump, she can't fly forever. The idea of riding through the sky is something of excitement.

Besides, it's their first time.

"Let's dooo that!!!" Even Kuro has failed to suppress feeling, his childish side appeared.

"Hm." Nodding to him while being surprised at his childish side, a rather small ship appeared as it floated in the air.

"It's really flying!! Wow!!" Without wasting an instances, Kuro and Ayame jumped onto the ship while Oujian rode right after them.

Rather than the journey to save his children, it felt more of an family vacation to him right now.

The moment Oujian rode the ships, the tough sensation of woods sounded from his foots as the sails opened up, and the flying ship 'sailed' through the sky.

In that moment, the mana on the deck began to break apart as the space started distorting. In a while, magic-circle began forming out of the broken apart mana as a figure appeared from within the magic-circle.

Along with the violet glimmers that's unnecessary flashy, an small adorable(?) figure smuggly came out.

That smug on her face seemed like every actions she made are worthy of praises. However it soon replaced into confusions.

"Huh? Where is Shion?"
