I'm in the punishment room for the whole night. I think Miss Minchin called the school and told them I'm sick or something and that I won't be able to attend school.
There are a small bathroom and only a tiny bed in the punishment room.
Because it is all darkness with no sign of any light, it will surely make a child cry because of fear, but well it's me so I'm not scared of the dark because I know it is scarier than just a dark room right? I'm all alone here. I slept quite comfortably, thankfully the bed is quite soft.
When the day came again, Miss Minchin came and when she opened the door, I'm already awake, I already made my bed and I'm sitting crossed-legged on the floor with my eyes close.
'What are you doing?' She asks and with the tone of her voice, she must think I'm crazy, not expecting me to be this calm and compose.
'Meditating.' I simply answered. I opened my eyes and I saw her in front of me. I stood and greeted her good morning and as expected, I have no response and straight to the point after a while of silence, she asks me to break up with Alex.
'No' I calmly told her.
'Why?' She asked me seriously.
'Because I love him I told her and she stared at me like I'm out of my mind. To be honest, I don't blame her because for me to say these things when I'm not fully an adult yet. She has the rights that's why I just listened to her without saying anything.
Come to think of it, in ancient times, it is worse because they marry a child at the tender age of 10 to 13.
Come to think of it, how old am I?
then after I saw Miss Minchin looking very crossed. Like a volcano that will erupt.
'Then that young love will be the main reason for you not to go to that school anymore.' She decided
'I'll call your school and tell them you will not go back anymore.' She said again and was about to go out when I told her.
'I made good friends' I said then she looked back to me and asked
'What?'
'I said I made good friends.' I told her.
'Why would I care if you made good friends?' She asked me looking at me like I talk nonsense.
'They will come to visit me.' I told her very softly
'So what if they visit you and come here - -' That made her stop then she looked at me again with surprise in her eyes.
'Yes, they will visit, not just them but also the school authorities may come.'
Her facial expression change very quickly.
Like what I said made her look scared of something.
Confirmed. I knew she is hiding something.
There has been a question in my mind for a long time
Why does their orphanage look so shabby and old?
Why does every time they meet a foster parent, they always set it up in the garden or outside?
Why does the orphanage don't have any public events?
No volunteers?
Why?
There is only one thing I can think of but I don't have any proof.
In your mind, you want to ask what is my hypothesis in this mystery case?
Well, I think the school knows who the owner of the orphanage is and if they found out that the state of the orphanage is like this, it will be a stain on the image and reputation, not just to Miss Minchin but also on the owner of this orphanage.
Come to think again.
I have never seen this personal owner.
Not in my past life and not yet in this life.
